Chapter Seventeen: Maximum Goblin.
"Osborn you bastard..." Mary Jane says as she and Peter's other family members looked on the television screen in their prison cell as they see the green gas turns those who breathe in it into laughing goblin-like mutants. They also see the muatated Goblin thugs mutate further in symbiote/goblin hybrids.
"Hey, you got a new cellmate." One of the goblin thugs said as the open the cell and push in Frances Barrison who looked drugged and had different bandages on her body.
"Shriek?!" MJ says in some fear as she remembers Shriek from Carnage's rampage.
"Not any more." The thug snickered as he locks the cell down.
It was then they see Frances huddles in corner with tears running down her cheeks from the horrors Jackal had put her through.
While this was happening, on the streets, Carlie and Lizard were now on the surface to see what the gas was doing.
"So he weaponized the Goblin gas. Clever bastard." Carlie growled as they now can see the utter destruction the city was going through." Carlie says with hatred for Osborn.
"Kill..." A very eerie hiss could be heard behind them as Carlie and Lizard turn to see many Goblin infected with man weapons in their hands.
"Guessss they would attack anyone not them." Lizard points out.
"Well I guess we have to fight our ways to Peter." Carlie says as they symbiote covers her face as she creates claws.
'We musssst disssable them, but no killing." Lizard points out as they fight off the Goblin infected.
Meanwhile in the heroes' current base, they needed to formulate a plan to stop to oncoming chaos as there's now hundreds, if not thousands of people fueled by insanity.
"We need to make a cure!" Agent Venom said as something like this needs to be stopped quickly.
"Oh yeah that's we need! Some wonder cure that stop thousands of Goblin Zombies!" Mania said sarcastically.
"There is a cure..." Toxin growls in the back.
"He's right there is..." Spider-Man continues "...back in Horizon we have left overs of the Anti-Venom symbiote extract. We need to get there so I can use the equipment to recreate the enzymes needed to make a larger batch."
It was then the base gets a call and Spider-Man answers it, to which it was Black Cat on the line.
"Cat?! Where've you been?!" Spider-Man asks in shock.
"Sorry I'm late to the party, but me, Wraith, and Cardiac are trying to keep the peace while you big boys try to stop that Osborn bastard." Black Cat sates.
"Well we need everyone here as soon as possible because things are too hectic even for us alone." Peter tells Black Cat.
"Gotcha Spider. Everyone I got the corridnates to the new base! Fall back!" Black Cat says as she cuts the communication.
"Okay so what's the plan?" Spider-Man asks Captain America.
"I actually don't know..." Steve says with a grim face "...we've fought Osborn before and yet we can't predict him, like when we fought Carnage."
It was then Spidey had an idea, as he realized they have been interchanging their strategies from fighting Osborn to fighting Carnage, instead of both.
"But I do." Spider-Man whispers.
"Peter?" Madame Web asks the hero.
"Look we've been trying to change strategies from fighting Osborn to fighting Carnage. And each of us have fought on or the other better than most. So here's what I have planned..." I says with a leadership most would say he has within him "...First we need to make sure we contain those infected with the Goblin gas, as such I think the Avengers should spread put as we've face multiple enemies under mind control. Next is to help with the evacuation, as such Mania and Aracely can help with that."
"Evac really? As good we can fight, I've played enough games to know all the baddies will be on our ass!" Mania says.
"Then I'll help" Madame Web says. "As much I want to stop Osborn personally, that destiny belongs to Peter."
"Next we've seen the gas had cause further mutations in Osborn's goons with symbiote genetics. As such Flash, Mercury Team, Wade, and yes you Toxin will take care them." Spider-Man says as he gives Toxin a harsh look.
"Yeah I get to hang out the shooters and one guy who escaped the 90s!" Deadpool says in joy.
"Next we need to stop Jackal as its obvious he's help Osborn with his excrement's, so I think I know one who knows him as much if not better then me, Kaine..." Peter says as he turns to his clone.
"I want to get the man with my own hands, but I need help." Kaines states.
"Then you got it." A familiar voice says as everyone turns to see Scream and Lizard, immediately seeing the heroes ready for combat.
"Scream!?" Toxin roars as he was ready to lunge.
"Wait it's me!" Scream yells defensively as her symbiote flows off her face, revealing Carlie Cooper.
"Carlie?!" Spider-Man says in shock.
"And I'm not the Lizard you know." Lizard says as well as it was obvious it's Connors.
"They're with me." Black Cat explains as she, Wraith, and Cardiac says as they came from behind.
"And I'll go with you as Jackal did this to me." Carlie volunteers. "Plus your family is there as well and I promised myself I will save them."
"Well as shocking moments aside. Scorn Kaine and Calrie might need you the shut off Jackal's tech." Spider-Man continues. "Harry, Wraith, Lizard, and Cardiac are immune to toxins and as such we can use you to shut down the dispersal units."
"So that means you, me, and Cat." Sarah says to Peter "What do you have planned?"
"Probably one of the hardest jobs..." Peter says with a very serious tone "We create a cure to stop this infection and to destroy the Carnage symbiote once and for all."
