This first couple chapters DO NOT belong to me. I repeat, I DID NOT WRITE THE FIRST 4 CHAPTERS. Originally this story was started by Asha Carcella (She wrote the first 3 chapters) and then due to medical issues she gave the story up to Only If to continue (She wrote the 4th chapter). Only If then gave the story to me, I'll do my best to keep it going at the high standards they set!
Sorry for the wait! I absolutely promise to keep updates more regular than I have been! Because there was such a large gap between this update and the last a lot of you might have thought I was abandoning this story, I'm not! Let me know how you thought this chapter went and any comments or concerns with it. I'm not sure if I'm satisfied or not, but I figured I made you guys wait long enough.
I know, I know. I'm already working on a YJ fic, but Only If asked if I wanted this one as well and I took it because it looks like it'd be really fun to write. If you haven't read my other story, check out Circus Act!
Readers: I am currently searching for a Beta-Reader. If you want to be a Beta for me please send me a PM with the subject line Dark Times: Beta and list your strength's and weaknesses.

"Back to the question at hand, what do we do?" Superman said.
"We put together our interrogation. Then we interrogate him." Aquaman stated. "We cannot allow these two to continue their killings."

Robin paced the expanse of his cell, or well, he would have if he wasn't tied to the chair as spectacularly as he was. His brow ached and he suspected that an ugly purple bruise would be blossoming at his temple and spreading under his mask to cover his left eye. Damn that team had hit him hard enough to knock him out, and had he fought unconsciousness his head would probably be spinning with the beginning of a mild concussion. Batman would surly skin him once he got home, not only had he undertaken this mission on his own without consulting the Bat first, he also got captured and tied up in a cell to be interrogated about their identities and motivation like a common criminal. Except for the fact that they weren't so common, and in their minds weren't criminals at all.
Now he was locked in a cell, without his utility belt or any of his weapons, waiting to be interrogated and unable to do anything about it.
"Oh Batman is so gonna kill me for this." He muttered to the wall with his eyes shut as to make the pair who silently entered the room think he was unaware of their presence.
"So Batman would even kill his own partner?" Green Arrow asked casually. "He'd kill you if you ever became a burden? "
Flash, his eyes wide in disbelieve, gasped. "Arrow knock it off; he's still just a child!"
"He stopped being 'just a child' when he made his first kill." Green Arrow sneered. "He's nothing but a common criminal now, and I won't treat him any differently."
Robin, a scowl playing over his lips, let out a harsh sigh. "Get off your high horse Queen, You act like you've never killed before."
Oliver Queen, known to the world as. . . well . . . Oliver fucking Queen. The guy was rich, charismatic, and had disappeared off the face of the Earth for more than 5 years then returned a different man. Green Arrow made his first appearance shortly after Queen got back to civilization so it wasn't difficult for Batman to place his identity. Arrow had been exactly as Batman is now, he'd kill the criminals on his list to stop them from committing the crimes again, and he didn't think it was bad. And then he changed.
Green Arrow scowled at the reminder of his early vigilante days. The day's when he really wasn't any better than Batman and Robin.
Flash, sensing the mood, - which was quickly spiraling out of his control – stepped in.
"Now now, that's not what Green Arrow meant at all." He tried to appease. "And Arrow, Robin didn't mean what he said either. Did you Robin?"
Robin ignored the look Flash sent him. "Of course I meant it! I wouldn't have said it and wasted my breath otherwise!" He exclaimed. "And what are you, a mother?" He directed towards Flash, "you really should just stay out of this Barry. It's out of your depth."
Through gritted teeth, Green Arrow directs his words to the restrained boy. "Kid you have no idea what you're talking about. I stepped out of that life for a reason; one you couldn't possibly understand."
"You mean when your best friend was killed in the manmade earthquake. He called you a murderer and it struck you because you felt like it was your fault and that you should have died instead." Robin said. "You're right, I don't understand. But I do know that that would never happen to me. I don't get close enough to anyone to the point that their death would change me. That was your fault."
Flash had gone stark white throughout Robin's speech and now took a couple steps back from the trembling Green Arrow, knowing that the other man wouldn't take his "lecture" quietly.
"Boy, you know nothing!" Arrow snarled. "Tommy was my saving grace -"
"I was there that night!" Robin shouted back. "I was there and I saw how many innocent people died because of one man's actions. I remember hoping you'd be able to stop it, but yo couldn't and a lot of people died. Now just think, if you were able to kill him the first time you had the chance - would you hesitate knowing what you know now?"
Green Arrow was shocked into silence. The dark part of his mind was shouting agreement to the boy's words, and the better part of him was disagreeing vehemently.
"Just one death of one evil man would save thousands of lives. Tell me you wouldn't do it."
Flash, panicking on the inside, opened his mouth to interject but then closed if when words wouldn't come. He shot a desperate look to the cameras in his last defense. The doors opened less than a second later Aquaman walked in.
"Robin, many could say the same about Batman. If he was to be killed then many lives would be spared." Aquaman said.
"And then many more would be lost," Robin said darkly, not liking the idea of Batman being killed. "You think so little of him that you have no idea the things that Batman really does for the people of Gotham."
Green Arrow stalked up to the tied up boy and leant down so they were eye to eye. "And what exactly is it that he does for them?"
"He thinks that he's preventing crime by killing the ones who commit the crime. He's cleaning crime through fear." Aquaman stated.
Robin shot the man a dirty look, the light glinting off his mask reflectors and a scowl marred his face. "That's what I was refereeing to when I said you guys think so little of him."
Green Arrow stiffened again and Flash looked like he was going to run for the door. When he agreed to play good cop he didn't think his job was going to be keeping two hotheaded idiot from baiting each other into a fight! Although he could tell that Robin was deliberately bating Green Arrow – like everything he said was calculated to dig under the man's skin.
The door opened again before Green Arrow could say anything else and Superman walked in.
"Oh look, the boy scout is here to save the day." Robin quipped. "That's so not -tastic, completely lacking the fan."
That gave everyone in the room a pause.
"…What?" Flash finally voiced the question on everyone's mind.
"Really! Is Batman the only one that understands me? Even the Joker pauses at that one!" Robin pouted.
"That wasn't even English!" Flash point out. "And how in the world does Batman even understand that?"
"How does a parent understand their infant? The world may never know…" Robin replied with a slight smirk curling at the corners of his lips.
"Did you just- Batman's your father?!" Flash exclaimed with wide eyes. Meanwhile Green Arrow gasped, his mouth dropped in obvious disbelieve and Superman stared unbelieving. Aquaman was the only one who appeared unaffected.
"It's not that much of a surprise is it?" Aquaman said. "How else would he be able to get away with what he does? He's out late every night, he's obviously not malnourished, and he's not in juvie. He's either related to Batman or he's one of the many children without families in Gotham."
"I never said he was my dad, I just asked a rhetorical question on how parents understand their infant." Robin drawled, not caring one way or the other which was they took his statements.
Green Arrows fists tightened. "Is he your father or is he not?"
"Dunno, ask Batman."
"Just answer the question."
"Don't wanna. You should let me go though, last time I was out late I got grounded." Robin snickered.
"We aren't playing games here Robin," Superman said and motioned for Green Arrow and Flash to leave the room. "We'll be back in a couple hours to see if you're willing to talk later."
"I won't say anything, so you might as well let me go."
Superman sent a leveled look at Robin while Aquaman walked quietly from the room. "You're on the wrong side Robin, you should switch now before it's too late."
He left the room before Robin could respond.
Review and let me know what you guy's think.
Oh and if you have any interrogation questions you want asked let me know now. I'm still trying to think some up.
Here's a blooper for you guys:

Robin, tied to a chair, was surrounded by the Justice League as they played good cop bad cop trying to get him to talk.
Most of their questions made him scoff. Did they really believe that he'd just tell them who Batman was? Did they think he'd willingly just out his and his partners ID like that?
"Does Batman live in Gotham?" Hal, the Green Lantern asked, ignoring the incredulous looks the league gave him for the question.
Robin paused mid taunting, "of course, we both do."
"What are you to Batman?"
"His partner"
"What are you to his ID?"
"Naw, to personal - try again."
"If you were to die, would Batman mourn?"
Robin visibly flinched. "Hopefully."
"You're unsure?"
"No one can read Batman, I'm not an exception,"
Black Canary frowned. "But you know him better than anyone else."
"Not really. Agent A knows him better than anyone else. I just understand him and work better with him than anyone else."
"But if you were to die, he wouldn't mourn?"
"I don't know, and hopefully Gotham never has to find out."
"You say for Gotham, why?"
Robin paused for a moment, thinking to make sure his words wouldn't give more than he wanted to away. "Well, when Scarecrow shot me when I first started this gig, Batman terrorized the people until they sold out where he was hiding."
Superman looked away, that was a terrible week. And knowing that they couldn't do anything about to stop the Bat was a terrible feeling for the protectors of Earth.
"Why do you think that he wouldn't care if you were to die then?"
Robin sighed, "I've already said more than I should, try another question. Why don't you try asking for Batman's secret ID again?"
Flash brightened, "will you tell us?"
"No, I was just wondering if you'd be stupid enough to think I will."
