Last chapter showed you What went on during the Invess Game tournament, and how Teams Gaim and Baron becamed "fated rivals" that will soon reveal why they became one, though Ryouma Mogami and Ren Tobari were not available yet Team Baron managed to show off their skills that makes them a "force to be reckoned with", while Team Gaim showed what they are made of as they are now witinin the "team rankings" to shows that they are no pushovers.
Also, remember the first chapter where one of the four "Armored Warriors" is seen in the first chapter? Well, surprise! This chapter will show you the "Armored Warrior" who will be one of the feared characters in this fic as he takes one one of the Xros Heart members that would be among the pivotal reasoms why Taiki is going to get dragged in within the "fated war" among the "Armored Warriors"...

A week later, the scene shifts around the bustling prefecture of Kyoto, where life is at its peaceful time as life appeared to be moving on in a normal way, as no one seemed to remember the events from four years ago when Quartzmon invaded Japan when he turned its victims into data before losing them after Taiki and Tagiru's efforts to stop him and Kyoto and Japan are restored, and the victims had no memmory of what happened after, thus covering up Xros Hearts' efforts to save the world.
The scene zooms around a vey huge building that vaguely resembled a giant tree, and it is identifed as Yggdrasil Corporation, which mysteriously opened its business last year, and provided a lot of job opportunities to the Kyoto residence, and thus life flourishes financially in Kyoto though no one knows when the building appeared partly due to the citizens' memories being erased during Quartzmon's reign, and the fact that Yggdrasil began to pen up construction apparently during Taiki's first trip to the Digital World after first meeting with Shoutmon.
However, as everyone is busy with their everyday life, no one notices that a strange portal is seen materializing at an alley where you can see what appeared to be an Invess Digimon is about to curiously head out and threatened to make way towards the human world.

Ch. 5:Shinpi-tekina Mori
At the busy streets of Kyoto, various avid fans of the Invess Game, from adults to teenagers to children, including students and office workers, are watching their devices that has a TV imput capabilities, where DJ Sagara makes his commentary about what went on during the last week's Invess battle where Team Gaim made their debut, and how they entered the tournament and defeated the other team who used their ranking membership as their wager, and the fans watched as DJ Sagara explained how the event happened.
"HELLO...KYOTO! DJ SAGARA HERE...AND HERE WE GOT SOME NEWS...TWO TEAMS...ONE A NEWCOMER...ARE GOING TO FIGHT IN AN INVESS GAME...WITH THE 2OTH SPOT ON THE LINE! LET'S SEE WHO GETS TO WIN THE SPOT AND THE TEAM RANKING WILL BE COMPLETE!"
Rika began the battle with the Invess she is controlling while her opponent is holding his ground controlling his Invess, and he began to insult her up to the point of insulting both her mother and grandmother, managing to get the lead as Rika was distracted enough to almost lose the battle.
"Blast! I let myself get distracted!"
But Takeru encouraged her and instructed her to focus solely on the match, and she did so as the battle resumed and both contestants appeared to be in a stalemate until she finds an opening and uses her wits to overcome her opponent's Invess and Team Gaim wins, and earned the spot of the ranked 15th in the team standings, and as the wager states, the opposing team relinquishes their place and cannot go for a rematch.
And surprisingly, the Invess Games can be held anywhere as long as a "referee" is present, in which he "appeared" in a holographic projection whenever an Invess game is about to take place, and whenever an Invess game is about to take place, it attracted a lot of spectators and it became a talk of the town as several other teams began to challenge Team Gaim after seeing Rika defeating the unidentifed team in last week, and of course, DJ Sagara is there to do commentary of the battles.
"LOOKS LIKE OUR 20-TEAM LIST IS COMPLETED..AS AN UNKNOWN TEAM HAVE MADE THE LIST AND ARE NOW AMONG THE 20 TEAMS WHO WILL COMPETE FOR THE TOURNAMENT! AND FROM WHAT I HAVE GATHERED, THE TEAM WHO JUST WON IS IDENTIFIED AS "TEAM GAIM"! WILL THIS TEAM HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO REACH THE TOP? OR WILL THEIR VICTORY TODAY BE SHORT-LIVED? TUNE IN TO THIS STATION TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE EXCITING FIGHTS!"
While Team Gaim started and debuted which landed them on the bottom ranking (20th place), their standing slowly, and dramatically changed when they beat certain teams which had Team Gaim climbing the ladder, placing them on the 15th ranking, and this slowly earned them a reputation and garnered a following from fans all over Kyoto. This news also reached other students in Kyoto University and fellow students began to admire and support Team Gaim, especially to Akari, Zenjirou and Rika.
Soon other rival teams began to take notice on Team Gaim, hoping that one day they would challenge thae upcoming team to prove to them that Team doesn't have a place in the tournament and hoped that a crushing defeat would discourage them from continuing on, but for now they opted to see if Team Gaim would climb up the team rankings before they assume that the team is worthy of their challenge.

Elsewhere within Kyoto, the scene shifts to Shinonome West High, where Yuu Amano and Tagiru Takaishi are attending their final year in senior high, and even the Invess Game craze has reached their school and while other students are enjoying in watching the battle, Yuu happened to see them by watching it over a schoolmate's I-Pad, and there he couldn't help but feel some concern as some of the Invess vreatures resembled that of Digimons, though he has no definite proof, and he felt that he'll have to keep an eye out in case his suspicions prove to be through and turn out to be a security risk.
Tagiru joins him as they were having lunch and there the two friends are discussing about the craze that has been going on, with Tagiru commenting that he missed Gumdramon and that with Taiki in college, he felt that things have changed and that sooner or later he might have to "sever" his ties with the Digimon world, but also felt "empty" after being forced to decide in releasing Chimeramon in order for the magical, ancient Digimon to stop the evil that threatens to turn humans into "magical Digimons" during the "Sabbath" four years ago.
"You seemed to be a bit down, Tagiru..."
"Yeah..."
"You still haven't gotten over THAT?"
"Yup...I miss Gumdramon...but it's was necessary to fix the damage at their world...I really missed the times we spend together..."
"But you already gotten over that..."
"However...I also missed Chimeramon..."
"Come on...it was YOUR decision to release him...and because of your decision...that SAbbath was foiled...and you saved Japan...and the world. Think about it...if there are no more Digimons...and if Chimera gets hungry...he MIGHT devour you instead...I'm sure Taiki would feel the same way..."
"I guess you're right..."
Yuu smiled a bit seeing that Tagiru slightly changed for the better, also recalling the time when he was sad after losing Damemon, but when he is reunited with his partner, sees that Tagiru might be reunited with his partners when the time comes, and assured to him that he will one day sees both Gumdramon and Chimeramon if the situation calls for it, in which Tagiru smiled as those words cheered him up. By then the two boys decided to continue the rest of the day.

Much later, Tagiru and Yuu left school and are debating on whetherto pay Taiki a visit at his home or drop by Kyoto University, when Airu Suzaki showed up, and there she cuddled beside Yuu as the two started dating after two years ago. Tagiru smiled at seeing her changed slightly, as she changed her habit in which she abandons her habit of chasing over "cute Digimons" though her "possessive side" is still there. As the couple hugged and kissed, Tagiru decided to leave them alone so as not to bother them and waved goodbye, while Yuu and Airi bid goodbye before they began walking so as to spend time toghether.
As the two are walking, Yuu and Airu talked about how things are going, in which he stated that he is doing fine, though Airu lamented that she missed her partner Digimon yet she slowly came to accept it though it was difficult at first, in which Yuu cheered her up and assured that she will meet her partner one day when the time comes, stressing that Shoutmon needed the Digimons to repair their kingdom and ensure that no more rogue Digimons would come and cause trouble in Kyoto.
"Yuu...I missed my partner..."
"So do I...but this is for the best..."
"But..."
"Don't feel sad...I'm sure we'll meet our partners again..."
"Really?"
"Yes. You have my word..."
"Thanks..."
"Sure..."
As they were walking by, an Invess Digimon, which resembled a coccoon-shaped, human-sized Digimon, appeared from the portal and grabbed Airu before running back, and Yuu is surprised to see this and went after it, intending to save Airu who is screaming in terror, trying to break free from her captor, and there Yuu started to vrealize that the Invess that took Airu appeared to be some "side effect" from the Inves Games, slowly realizing that they are indeed Digimons, but presumed that it may be from another Digital World.
"EEEEKKKK!"
"Airu!"
As the chase leads them inside the portal, Yuu is taken aback in seeing that he is now inside what appeared to be a forest filled with trees, and seeing that the Invess is stil carrying Airu, Yuu decided to take matters seriously as he puts on a Magic Ring on his right middle finger and places it in front of his belt, which is revealed to be the Wizardriver, and there both the Wizardriver and the magic Ring glowed, signalling the activation of the magic spell that is about to be casted.
Wizardriver: "CHAIN...NOW!"
Giant chains appeared around the Invess and binded the Digimon, causing Airu to fall down and allowed her to get away and head back towards Yuu, crying as she felt that for the first time she is helpless after "losing" her Digimons and is unable to protect herself. Yuu assured to her that he will protect her just as the Invess Digimon is being joined by three other Invess Digimons, and are ready to pounce on the two teens as Yuu instructs Airu to stay back so he can handle the unknown Digimon types.
"Y-Yuu..."
"Are you okay?"
"Y-yeah..."
"Better stay back..."
"But..."
"I'll handle them..."
"Be careful..."
"I will..."
Yuu then places his right hand in front of the Wizardriver and activates a spell in preparation for his battle with the three Invess creatures.
Wizardriver: "DRIVER ON...NOW!"
Yuu's Wizardriver Belt fully m,aterialized as he puts on the DRIVER Ring on his left middle finger and placed his left hand in front of the Wizardriver, and the spell is casted to evoke his transformation.
Wizardriver: "CHANGE...NOW!"
Yuu stood still with his hands raised sideways, and there a magical circle emerged from the CHANGE Ring and enveloped the teen, encasing him in a brown armor fitted with jewel-like ornaments and sporting a black, matallic claw-like gauntlet on he left forearm, and and his head is also fitted with an armored helmet also fitted with jewel-like designs, and thus the transformation is complete, and Yuu transforms using magic and became simply known as the "Mage", and is ready to take on the Invess Digimons while Airu is cheering her lover on with encouragement.
"Okay..."
"Go, Yuu!"
"I better finish them off...then leave this place..."
"Go get them, Yuu!"
"Airu...ust stay back...these things are dangerous!"
"Okay, Yuu!"
"I'd better tell Taiki and Tagiru about this..."
"Be careful, Yuu!"
As this development is taking place, an "armored fighter", which resembled a modern-day samurai, is seen lurking close by, watching the scene from afar, his sight focused on Yuu taking on the Invess Digimons while seemingly intrigued at what "Mage" can do and to see what the wizard is capable of fighting against three Invess Digimons at the same time.

I hope you liked this chapter while not minding the slow-paced flow of this story, but it's necessary to flesh out the plot while offering the characters a lot of screen time as well as to show what Yuu and Tagiru are doing after Taiki graduated and attended college. At least it would give the two Xros Heart members something to do so as not to have them fade away in the background.
As you noticed, Yuu possessing magic...this scenario took place in "Digital Wizard", where Yuu eventually becomes a "wizard" that is similar to the "Chosen Children" from Digimon Frontier where those characters assume the power to become Digimons through the use of the "Legendary Spirits". In Yuu and Tagiru's case, they became armored wizards through magical means.
Looks like Yuu and Airu are having a lot of trouble when an Invess Digimon mysteriously appeared and tries to take her away, in which Yuu gives chase and now he is ready to take on the fight, unaware of what is in store for him.
While the "Armored Fighter" appeared at the end of this chapter, this serves as a precursor on what his role would be, be it a hero, villain, anti-hero or anti-villain, but the next chapter would soon give you some ideas on what to expect.
