Last chapter showed you what Yuu and Tagiru are doing while Taiki is attending university, and how the two remaining Xros Heart members are coping on their last year in senior high, but then encountered some unexpected trouble when an Invess Digimon appeared and tries to take Airu away, resulting in a chase and revealing that Yuu still possesses magic to fight it off and save Airu.

However, as Mage, Yuu is going to have to fight them off after spending four years of inactivity after saving Japan twice. Moreover, one of the four "Armored Warriors" is ready to make his full debut after appearing at the end of last chapter, ready to make an opportunity to showcase himself once the time is right and the fight is ripe for the picking.

So read on as a battle is about to take place!

At Kyoto, Tagiru is walking home when he stopped, as he checked his bag and realized that he still has Yuu's notebook and decided to go back and find him, though he is tempted not to knowing he is on a date with Airu, but seeing that giving Yuu his notebook back is more important since today is Friday, so he decided to go find him and give him the notebook back then leave so as not to bother them further.

"Better give this to Yuu..."

As he was running the road for a few minutes to find Yuu and Airu, he stopped upon seeing Airu's bag on the ground, and saw her ID attached on it before he noticed the portal on the wall at the alley, and upon taking a closer look, he saw the forest inside and wondered if it is a dimensional area similar to the "Digi-Quartz", and after glancing at his X-Loader, which it shows that it is still fully functional, he decided to take the risk and explore the area, believing that Yuu and Airu are in there and they might need help.

"Oh boy...I sure wish I still have Gumdramon on my side...or not lose Chimeramon..."

Ch. 6: Shiroi Hōmon-sha; Āmādo Faita Zangetsu

As the chase leads them inside the portal, Yuu is taken aback in seeing that he is now inside what appeared to be a forest filled with trees, and seeing that the Invess is stil carrying Airu, Yuu decided to take matters seriously as he puts on a Magic Ring on his right middle finger and places it in front of his belt, which is revealed to be the Wizardriver, and there both the Wizardriver and the magic Ring glowed, signalling the activation of the magic spell that is about to be casted.

Wizardriver: "CHAIN...NOW!"

Giant chains appeared around the Invess and binded the Digimon, causing Airu to fall down and allowed her to get away and head back towards Yuu, crying as she felt that for the first time she is helpless after "losing" her Digimons and is unable to protect herself. Yuu assured to her that he will protect her just as the Invess Digimon is being joined by three other Invess Digimons, and are ready to pounce on the two teens as Yuu instructs Airu to stay back so he can handle the unknown Digimon types.

"Y-Yuu..."

"Are you okay?"

"Y-yeah..."

"Better stay back..."

"But..."

"I'll handle them..."

"Be careful..."

"I will..."

Yuu then places his right hand in front of the Wizardriver and activates a spell in preparation for his battle with the three Invess creatures.

Wizardriver: "DRIVER ON...NOW!"

Yuu's Wizardriver Belt fully materialized as he puts on the DRIVER Ring on his left middle finger and placed his left hand in front of the Wizardriver, and the spell is casted to evoke his transformation.

Wizardriver: "CHANGE...NOW!"

Yuu stood still with his hands raised sideways, and there a magical circle emerged from the CHANGE Ring and enveloped the teen, encasing him in a brown armor fitted with jewel-like ornaments and sporting a black, matallic claw-like gauntlet on he left forearm, and and his head is also fitted with an armored helmet also fitted with jewel-like designs, and thus the transformation is complete, and Yuu transforms using magic and became simply known as the "Mage", and is ready to take on the Invess Digimons while Airu is cheering her lover on with encouragement.

"Okay..."

"Go, Yuu!"

"I better finish them off...then leave this place..."

"Go get them, Yuu!"

"Airu...ust stay back...these things are dangerous!"

"Okay, Yuu!"

"I'd better tell Taiki and Tagiru about this..."

"Be careful, Yuu!"

As this development is taking place, an "armored fighter", which resembled a modern-day samurai, is seen lurking close by, watching the scene from afar, his sight focused on Yuu taking on the Invess Digimons while seemingly intrigued at what "Mage" can do and to see what the wizard is capable of fighting against three Invess Digimons at the same time.

The next scene shows that the mysterious, teenage girl,standing by behind a tree, looking far away and she seem to be looking at something and is watching the "Armored Warrior" lurking about and at Mage preparing to fight it out with the three Invess Digimons, and she seemed to be rather concerned at what events would took place and what fate awaits someone, as if she seemed to know what is about to take place sometime soon. She appeared to be hesitant in interfering as she deems Mage as "irrelevant" in the scenario she sees, but reluctantly opted to let the "wheels of fate" roll and see where this scenario would turn out.

At the site of the battle, Mage braces himself as one of the Invess Digimons began the move and rand towards its target and he instinctively responded by using his left-handed black gauntlet, which resembled a large clawed-hand, and struck the Invess Digimon that caused the creature to stagger back, and the second Invess Digimon responded by going next, attempting to strike down Mage, but also got hit, and the third Invess Digimon went ahead, but this time managing to held down its target, and this would give the other two Invess Digimons the chance to pounce on the armored teen and Airu screams out in concern.

"Yuu!"

But Mage managed to find an opening, and jabbed his left-handed gauntlet and stabbed the Invess Digimon on the stomach with pure force, which the creature screamed out before exploding, and as the other Invess Digimon is about to dive in to get a hold on its target, Mage places his right hand in front of the Wizardriver and a spell is casted to summon an offensive attack to deal with the other opponent.

Wizardriver: "YES...SPECIAL...UNDERSTAND?"

A black, metallic tail materialized behind Mage's waist and he spins around, in which the tail "expanded" and whips the Invess Digimon several times and in less than 30 seconds the Invess exploded and this leaves one more left, and the creature is hesitating on whether to press on with the attack or fall back, while Airu is watching in excitement while the unidentified "Armored Warrior" and the "mysterious girl" watches on, seeing Mage able to take down two Invess Digimon in a series of attacks.

"Airu!"

"Yuu! Thank goodness you're okay!"

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I am!"

"Let's go, then..."

"Right!"

"Come on..."

"I'm coming...Yuu...look!"

Yuu and Airu's talking was interrupted when they saw the Invess Digimon heading at a tree and grabbed a fruit and consumes it, and this causes an "evolution" which the Invess Digimon changed its shape, as if a metamorphosis took place and there the creature took shape and appeared to resemble a rather human-like creature with animal appearance. He resembled a Yorkshire black dog, and thus the creature evolved into becoming the Barghest Invess, and this Digimon appeared to be very, very tough to handle.

Mage and Airu saw this and both became very apprehensive at seeing this and are now becoming starting to take this threat seriously and intend to escape this forest and head back to the real world so as to inform Taiki of what they have discovered so far, seeing that this may be an effect of using the creatures for Invess games and the need to investigate this matter would be a top priority.

"We'd better end this quickly..."

"Yeah..."

"And tell Taiki about this...I had a feeling that this might be tied to the Invess Games that we saw..."

"And what about those portals we just saw?"

"We tell him too..."

"What should I do now?"

"Stay back and I'll handle that Digimon..."

"Okay..."

Meanwhile, the unidentified "Armored Warrior" watches on and is curious to see what Mage can do and what his powers are capable of, seeing him as someone who poses a threat to him and his agenda and bid his time to wait and see before making his move, curious to see mage's other special attacks and hoped to see them up close so as to know the limit of this "threat" to him and his agendas, not noticing the "mysterious girl" watching him as well.

The scene shifts back to the scene of the battle as the Barghest Invess began to make his move and like its namesake, it could also become invisible and walk about with the sound of rattling chains, and this gives the Invess an advantage as it can sneak around does several sneak attacks at Mage, and Mage was slightly overwhelmed as he couldn't see his opponent around, and he staggered back after taking a lot of hits, and as the Barghest Invess reappeared, Mage tries to strategize a way to weaken the Digimon in order to leave the forest.

"I hope this work..."

Getting an idea, Mage gauds the creature to come after him and allowed the Invess to attack him, and this made Airu worried as the Barghest Invess began to maul him mercilessly, but this prove to be part of mage's tactics as he managed to grab hold of the Digimon and then placed his right hand in front of the Wizardriver and casted a spell that would "hold" the creature in its place, just as Mage intended.

Wizardriver: "YES...BLIZZARD...UNDERSTAND..."

Mage's right hand glowed as it fired a wave of ice magic and freezes the Invess in thick ice that is thick and strong enough to hold the creature for a few more seconds, before he placed his right hand in front of the Wizardriver and casted a spell for another offensive attack.

Wizardriver: "YES...THUNDER...UNDERSTAND..."

A powerful bolt of electricity was discharged and struck the partially frozen Barghest Invess, and with electricity and ice connected, it electrocuted the Invess with pure force and the creature exploded, and as the smoke cleared, Airu went towards mage and hugged him, and he then tells Airu that they should get out of here and tell Taiki about what they found out, but then the "Armored Fighter" emerges, whose armor appeared to be white colored, with ornaments that resembled a light-greenish-colored fruit, that is of a melon. He is soon identified as the Armored Fighter Zangetsu, and he stood menacingly in front of the two, and Airu felt worried at seeing how Zangetsu stood in front of them, but Mage tries to talk his way out, but is instantly rebuffed.

"Are you...?"

"You're presence here is a mere eyesore..."

"I'm just defending myself and my friend..."

"You do not deserve to be here..."

"Look...whoever you are...we have no business here..."

"I will teach you a lesson for poking your way here..."

"Are you...?"

"Have at you!"

By then, Zangetsu brought out a Lock Seed and "unlocked" it, causing an Invess to materialize, and to Mage and Airu's horror, the Invess Digimon resembled a human-sized, mythical bird from Southern Brazil that supposedly travels throughout the southern region of the country. The legend is very famous in the Brazilian state of Paraná. It is identified as the Blue Jay Invess and there Zangetsu pointed his hand at Mage, and there the Invess zooms in towards the two.

Looks like the excitement is picking up, especially as the "Armored Fighter" is now making his presence known after observing Yuu from afar, and seeing the attacks that Mage displayed, Zangetsu is now sure that he is confident to face this "threat" to his unspecified agenda, but this remained to be seen what can an "Armored Warrior" can do to a "ringed magician" who had just "come out of retirement", and how Yuu can fare against this unknown opponent after coming out from four years of inactivity.
