The moment of truth is upon this chapter as Zangetsu finally gets to show off his abilities against Yuu Amano's magics as the "ring-bearing Mage", and what Yuu can do as he has to fend off another Invess Digimon that was summoned by Zangetsu himself, and there the climax of this battle would depend on how Yuu can outwit his new opposition in order to escape this mystical forest and warn Taiki of the Invess Digimons' existence.

Read on as this climatic battle comes in to a close before the actual story resumes!

Somewhere within the mystical forest, Tagiru is navigating his way around as he intends to find both Yuu and Airu around, but so far he has little success, and as he is tempted to shout out their names, he hesitated after seeing several Invess Digimons, all resembling humanoid coccoon-like creatures, are eating fruits from a tree, and he came to the conclusion that they are Digimons, so he carefully sneaked his way around and managed to get away from them without arousing suspicions.

"Man...feels like this was a Digi-Quartz...if Gumdramon were here, he would be excited to take on a Digimon...but right now finding Yuu and Airu takes priority..."

As he is about to take another route, he heard explosions and heard the Wizardriver's voice, and there he realized that Yuu and Airu are close by and followed the source of the sound, unaware that he is about to come across a very brutal battle.

Ch. 7: Zangetsu vs. Mage: Mahō no Yubiwa ni Taisuru Rokkushīdo

Getting an idea, Mage gauds the creature to come after him and allowed the Invess to attack him, and this made Airu worried as the Barghest Invess began to maul him mercilessly, but this prove to be part of mage's tactics as he managed to grab hold of the Digimon and then placed his right hand in front of the Wizardriver and casted a spell that would "hold" the creature in its place, just as Mage intended.

Wizardriver: "YES...BLIZZARD...UNDERSTAND..."

Mage's right hand glowed as it fired a wave of ice magic and freezes the Invess in thick ice that is thick and strong enough to hold the creature for a few more seconds, before he placed his right hand in front of the Wizardriver and casted a spell for another offensive attack.

Wizardriver: "YES...THUNDER...UNDERSTAND..."

A powerful bolt of electricity was discharged and struck the partially frozen Barghest Invess, and with electricity and ice connected, it electrocuted the Invess with pure force and the creature exploded, and as the smoke cleared, Airu went towards mage and hugged him, and he then tells Airu that they should get out of here and tell Taiki about what they found out, but then the "Armored Fighter" emerges, whose armor appeared to be white colored, with ornaments that resembled a light-greenish-colored fruit, that is of a melon. He is soon identified as the Armored Fighter Zangetsu, and he stood menacingly in front of the two, and Airu felt worried at seeing how Zangetsu stood in front of them, but Mage tries to talk his way out, but is instantly rebuffed.

"Are you...?"

"You're presence here is a mere eyesore..."

"I'm just defending myself and my friend..."

"You do not deserve to be here..."

"Look...whoever you are...we have no business here..."

"I will teach you a lesson for poking your way here..."

"Are you...?"

"Have at you!"

By then, Zangetsu brought out a Lock Seed and "unlocked" it, causing an Invess to materialize, and to Mage and Airu's horror, the Invess Digimon resembled a human-sized, mythical bird from Southern Brazil that supposedly travels throughout the southern region of the country. The legend is very famous in the Brazilian state of Paraná. It is identified as the Blue Jay Invess Digimon and there Zangetsu pointed his finger at Mage, and there the Invess zooms in towards the two.

Instinctively, Mage places his right hand in front of the Wizardriver and a spell has been cast which summoned a weapon by his choice to suit his next battle tactic while Airu backs away to allow Mage to concentrate in defeating the Jay Invess so that both teens can try to escape the forest after dealing with the mysterious Armored Warrior...Zangetsu.

Wizardriver: "CONNECT...NOW."

A magical circle appeared and Mage placed his hand inside and puled out a weapon, which is the Wi-Sword Gun, and there he opened fire at the Invess and managed to hit the Digimon at point blank range, and he kept on firing until the Invess Digimon backed away from a distance to try to make another diving attack, while Zangetsu watches on from a distance, impressed to see Mage's arsenal and is intrigued to see what else his opponent can do, so he took out another Lock Seed and summoned another Invess Digimon, in which it resembled a humanoid bull, and this Digimon is identified as the Minotaur Invess Digimon, and is heading for Mage which Airu notices and shouted at Yuu as warning.

"Yuu!"

"Huh?"

"Watch out!"

"Blast!"

Mage's reaction was too late, as the Minotaur Invess charged at him like a bull would, and gored him at point blank range, sending him colliding against a tree, and as Mage tries to get up, the Jay Invess dives down and rammed its target, and the impact sends him reeling against another tree, and Airu could only watch the scene in worry at seeing Yuu being trampled and ganged up while Zangetsu watches on, sensing that Mage would bring out his "trump card" so he watches the fight intently with zeal.

"Let's see what else you have...though your arsenals are surely outdated in comparison to mine..."

Seeing that the Minotaur Invess is preparing for another charge, Mage planned ahead as he noticed that the Jay Invess is going for another dive attack, so he places his right hand in front of the Wizardriver Belt and another spell has been cast, in which Zangetsu watches on at the scene that is about to show in front of him just as the Minotaur Invess begins to charge at Mage.

Wizardriver: "CHAIN...NOW!"

The Jay Invess was immediately been bounded by a giant, metallic chain and with its arms/wings bounded, the Invess Digimon couldn't fly and descends downward right onto the path of the charging Invess Digimon, and the two Digimons collided, with the Jay Invess getting gored and soon exploded, and when the dust cleared, the Minotaur Invess charges through to gore its target, just as Mage casts another spell to unleash another offensive attack.

Wizardriver: "YES...KICK STRIKE...UNDERSTAND..."

Zangetsu watches on with pure intent and interest as Mage does a straight flying kick and struck the Invess Digimon which the impact caused the Digimon to explode, and there Mage gets a moment to rest as Airu ran towards him to congratulate her lover for a hard-fought battle, but their moment is rather short-lived as Zangetsu has seen enough and decided to re-enter the fray to confront the "intruders" in a rather ruthless fashion.

"Yuu darling!"

"Airu..."

"Thank goodness your okay..."

"Yeah..."

"Come on...let's leave this place..."

"Airu!"

"Huh?"

"Look out!"

Before Airu could get close to Mage, Zangetsu intercepted her and planted a strong punch that hit her gut, and Airu kneels in pain, vomiting blood in the process and Mage was shocked and enraged at what the "Armored Warrior" did to her, and charged towards him to get him away from an injured Airu, which became the case as the two armored fighters clashed swords, and as the two moved away from Airu, Mage angrily demanded what he wants from them and why he had to harm an unarmed girl, in which Zangetsu cruelly rebuffed the demand.

"What was that for?!"

"Like I said...you two are not welcomed here..."

"Why punch an unarmed girl?!"

"Anyone who came here are not welcomed...and there are no exceptions...be it a male or female!"

"If you want us to leave...why not say so?! Why attack us with those Digimons?!"

"To see if you are worth fighting...and I say that you slightly are..."

"You'll pay for what you did to Airu!"

"Then try it...fool!"

Mage then charged towards Zangetsu and the two clashed swords, in which the two fighters are equally matched, but Zangetsu got the upper hand using his shield defend himself and uses it as an extra weapon in dishing out some damage, and Mage placed his right hand in front of the Wizardriver to summon an offensive spell in which Zangetsu braces himself for an anticipating asault.

Wizardriver: "EXPLOSION...NOW!"

Shielding himself with his shield, Zangetsu is now on the defensive as explosive blasts struck him and his shield managed to absorb the blasts, and while the fight is ongoing, Tagiru arrived and saw Airu in a very bad shape,and began to carry her in his arms while asking what is going on at the moment, in which she had difficulty completing the sentence, but the important terms have made Tagiru grasp the logic which made sense to him at the moment while watching Mage keeping Zangetsu busy.

"Airu!"

"T-Tagiru..."

"What happened?!"

"P-portal...f-forest...Invess Digimons..."

"I saw some while on the way here..."

"M-must...tell Taiki...forest...p-probably...connected...Invess games..."

"I got it..."

"H-hurry..."

Mage then shouted to Tagiru to get Airu out of the forest in which the other boy nodded, but Zangetsu has no intentions of letting them go as he began to toggle with his weapon.

"Tagiru!"

"Yuu!"

"Get Airu out of here!"

"I intend to...but what about you?"

"I'll hold this guy off!"

"But..."

"Don't argue!"

"You three street brats won't leave here so easily..."

"Eh?!"

Weapon: "MELON SQUASH!"

Mage was taken by surprise at hearing the computerized voice, which came from what appeared to be a black metallic belt, and there Zangetsu did a vertical sword slash and an energy wave came out from the Zangetsu's blade and struck Mage, and the impact sends him colliding with Airu and Tagiru, and then the trio were thrown away at a far distance and landed at a spot near the portal where they first entered, which leads the way back to Kyoto.

However, Mage was badly injured as the energy slash wave penetrated his armor and he could feel himself bleeding out, and seeing that they are just moments away from exiting the portal, and feeling that he is about to pass out, he did a desperate move that would ultimately save them.

Wizardriver: "TELEPORT...NOW!"

Before Zangetsu could get close to the fallen teens, the trio were covered by a magic circle and teleported them out of the mysterious forest and are outside, returning to Kyoto just as Mage's magic has faded and Yuu returned to normal, his "magic armor" disappeared and you can see his shirt was stained with blood and Airu has lost consciousness just as Yuu did, and Tagiru used his strength to call for help, shouting, and this caught the attention of passerby and they came to help the injured teens, all the while the "portal" that connects Kyoto and the forest slowly disappeared and escaped prying eyes.

As an ambulance arrived, the trio are being loaded in, and Tagiru noticed that it was already night time, and he is baffled by this before he too loses consciousness due to the injuries he sustained, while a pair of eyes is seen watching the ambulance leaving before leaving the scene, as if nothing has ever happened.

I guess you readers are quite happy at the amount of actions this chapter showed, and this is just the icing on the cake, and the main ingredients are about to be shown soon once the chapters come in to place, and this is just an indications on what the conflicts of this story is about to be depicted.

Yuu managed to get himself, Airu and Tagiru out of danger, but they suffered some heavy injuries due to the mysterious "Armored Fighter", Zangetsu. Though it's early to say whether Zangetsu is a villain or anti-hero, you'll get to see him more in the coming chapters.

Lastly, he is one of the "Armored Fighters" who appeared in the first chapter of this fic, and expect more of these types to show up pretty soon...
