Last chapter showed you the results of the Invess Game between Team Baron and Team Gaim, in which Team Gaim won though they had to deal with an out of control Digimon which in turn caused Taiki to get unwanted, and unexpected, publicity. With this Taiki's university life gets a bit...chaotic, yet their place in the dance standing and Invess Games slowly spirals them to the top, which will earn them a lot of unexpected things.
In this chapter, you will get to see that Ryouma Mogami is still determined to "surpass" Taiki, and an unexpected turn of events will show you what this means and his rivalry with Taiki will not only be renewed, but also cause tension between the two characters.
About an hour after Taiki, who is now being dubbed as "Armored Fighter Gaim", defeated an out of control Digimon as well as defeating Team Baron, footages of Taiki becoming an Armored fighter became viral, especially when he fought and defeated the Invess Digimon, Shikamon, many netizens were flocking the internet, some through computers and other through I-Pads, wanting to get a glimpse of Gaim himself.
Adding more publicity is that the DJ himself, Sagara, began making statements which would add more fuel and interest as he made vocal praises and gave Taiki the name of "Armored Fighter Gaim", which soon became a common name within the Invess Games, and netizens started to take notice and in turn would cause other people to get enticed to join the games itself.
"HELLO, KYOTO! I GOT A HUGE NEWS TO ALL FANS OF THE INVESS GAMES! TEAM GAIM HAS DEFEATED TEAM BARON, BUT THEN A DIGIMON WENT OUT OF CONTROL...UNTIL A PLAYER DONS AN ARMOR AND BEATS UP THE DIGIMON AND SAVED THE DAY! HE SURE IS AN INTERESTING CHARACTER...WITH THE ARMORED GETUP WHICH MAKE HIM LOOK LIKE A SAMURAI...AND BEING THAT HE IS A MEMBER OF TEAM GAIM...I WILL GIVE HIM A NAME SO YOU CAN REMEMBER HIM WELL...HE WILL BE CALLED...ARMORED FIGHTER GAIM!"

The scene shifts in the streets of Kyoto, where you can see a limousine traveling and as the scene zooms inside, you can see a blond-haired young man, who appeared to be in his early 20's, watching DJ Sagara's statements regarding the battle between Team Gaim and Baron, and seemingly scoffed upon seeing Gaim defeating the Digimon, as if he doesn't appeared to be impressed at the development.
""Armored Fighter", huh? Cheap. Nevertheless, it's a first. Look like things are progressing well than expected."
The young man, who is aged 24, is identified as Yamato Ishida-Takaishi, and he is revealed to be the who was a project leader in the Research and Development branch of the Yggdrasill Corporation, a position that gives him full access to the company's record and such, yet he doesn't appeared to be concerned about Gaim's "debut", though he noted that things are progressing well than expected.
The scene then shifts outside the limousine where the vehicle is seen approaching a rather enormous, tree-shaped corporate building, which is actually the Kyoto-based Japanese branch of Yggdrassil Corporation, and the limousine disappeared as it entered the building, while the rest of the city remained busy in its everyday life.

A few days later, the scene shifts to Kyoto University where the dance club is having a meeting after the events that happened between Team Gaim and Team Baron, and their actions were viral online, and to Taiki and his club mates' surprises, they began to get a lot of admirers within school, and even outside school, where they gotten a lot of "admiration letters" from a lot of fans, some even asked them to pose a picture with the fans.
Even the university clubs began to show respect for Taiki and his friends, which Taiki humbly accepted while his dance club soon started to get a lot of applicants who now want to join their club, which Akari at first appreciate it until she suspected that the applicants were mostly girls who wanted to get close to Taiki, while some of the boy applicants wanted to get close to Taiki just to get him to teach them about the Lock Seeds so as they can join the Invess Games.
"Looks like we are getting new members..."
"Yeah...we sure looked cool now..."
"But guys..."
"Huh?"
"What if they joined our club only because of Taiki?"
"Now that you mentioned it..."
"So what? does it matter?"
"For me, it is..."
At first Taiki assured to them that things like these are normal, and though the others are fine with it as this gives the club potential to expand, Rika wondered if this also means that the rival teams within the Invess Games would challenge Team Gaim after the "fiasco" that resulted in Taiki debuting as an Armored Fighter, yet Taiki told his friends that what happened has happened and all that matters is that there are no casualties.
The discussion then shifted as they noted that Henry is still not around, and both Taiki and Akari glanced at each other, as they knew that they can't just say that Henry went missing inside a mysterious forest-like dimension and for now they hoped that Henry is okay and is hiding somewhere though Taiki mentally vowed that he will find Henry if he has to go back to that forest just to find him. By then school has ended and the dance club decided to go to a park where they can start practicing their number as the dance contest competition is nearing.

At a local park, Team Gaim is practicing their dance number and so far things went well as they are hoping to win the elimination round and if they win they would move to the semifinal round of the aid-contest, and just as they are about to finish their practice, three teams came and saw Team Gaim practicing and they approached him with the intent of challenging them in an Invess Game, even though Akari told them that they have no interest at the moment yet one of the rival teams began taunting her and Rika.
"Hey, Gaim!"
"Huh?"
"Yeah, you!"
"We challenge you!"
"We're not interested..."
"So you're chicken?"
"I bet you girls are too scared, huh?"
"What was that?"
As Akari and Rika felt offended, Taiki steps in and tries to mediate the situation yet the rival teams aren't backing out and stated that they won't leave until Team Gaim accepted the challenge, and Taiki decided to accept the challenge just to end the conflict, which Rika steps in and brought out a Lock Seed to summon an Invess Digimon, in which the first rival team brought out and summon his, just as a "holographic referee" appeared to officiate the match, and soon the match begins with fans and other gamers flock the park to see the Invess Game though some are hoping to see Armored Fighter Gaim stepping in.
Surprisingly, Team Gaim handled the match well and after a few minutes Rika won the match, and the first rival team were demoralized and reluctantly leaves the scene, paving way for the second rival team to enter the fray, and this time summoned two Invess Digimons to do the battle, and Rika brought out another Lock Seed to even the fight, and match went on as the two teams fought evenly until Rika's Digimon eventually won, and Team Gaim's ranking in the Invess Games slowly raised, yet some fans are clamoring for Taiki to step in, wanting to see more of Armored Fighter Gaim.
"We want Gaim!"

Taiki sighed as he realized that his actions in defeating the Shikamon would attract attention, and it did as kids flocked and asked if he is really the Armored Fighter, in which he laughed sheepishly as he wanted to discourage them from becoming a Beat Master at such a young age, missing the second match even though his team won cleanly, but then the 3rd rival team came and incensed to see that Gaim won two matches in a row, they decided to cheat their way through by bringing out six Lock Seeds and summoning six Invess Digimons, and to everyone's surprise, a holographic ring appeared that trapped all members of Team Gaim along with the Invess Digimons.
As Akari, Rika and the others are forced to back away as the six Invess Digimons slowly approached them, Taiki demanded to let Akari and the others go, but the leader of the 3rd rival team taunted them by saying that if this would put Team Gaim out of commission, then they won't mind getting disqualified as long as they get rid of an "eyesore" and he labeled Team Gaim as an eyesore, and raised his Lock Seeds to command the Digimons to attack, and there Taiki is forced to take matters in his own hands as he puts on the Lock Driver around his waist to form the belt, then unlocks the Orange Lock Seed before placing it inside the Lock Driver.
Orange Lock Seed: "LOCK ON! ORANGE ARMS...HANAMICHI ON STAGE!"
Transforming into Armored Fighter Gaim, Taiki went in to action and brought out his weapons to counter the advancing Digimons, keeping them away from Team Gaim and Akari uses the Lock Seeds to have the Digimons aid Gaim, which resulted in a melee, and fans and fellow gamers watched the scene as they finally see Armored Fighter Gaim in the flesh. Cheers were heard and they are rooting for Team Gaim while chanting Gaim's name.
Within a few minutes Gaim is forced to switch Lock Seeds, going from Orange Arms to Pine Arms and used his finisher to take out the six Invess Digimons and the match ended and the holographic ring disappeared which set Team Gaim free, and the rival team were not only demoralized, they were shocked and speechless, and there Taiki told them to leave or else he will be forced to take action "personally" , and the rival team ran away, while fans and gamers cheered on as they finally found a favorite in Team Gaim.

A few days later, the organizers of the Invess Games made an announcement, in which in light of what happened to Team Gaim and its three opponents, as well as a barrage of positive reception, the Invess Games now have a new, additional, and optional , rule, in which it allows an "Armored Fighter" to personally participate in Invess Games, and this seemingly provoked rival teams to go after Taiki, as they found a challenge to take on a rival team who uses ore than an Invess Digimon, and Team Gaim were seemingly caught off-guard, as this would mean they would get a lot of challenges from other teams.
And it did, as numerous rival teams, even newcomers, came and challenged Team Gaim, demanding that they fight Taiki instead, and even though he declined, he is forced to accept when the rival teams threatened to use force, and there Taiki reluctantly did and in a few minutes Team Gaim won courtesy of Taiki, and their ranking dramatically improved, which slowly caused other teams with high rankings to take notice of Team Gaim.

Another few days have passed, Team Gaim's days appeared to be peaceful as other teams seemed to not bother them after seeing the team's Armored Fighter in battle, and they felt that they stood no chance in dealing with him, and this helped Team Gaim in concentrating on their schooling and right now they are practcing on a public stage as they are just a day before competing in the dance contest, and while this is happening, the scene shifts nearby, where two rival teams are watching Team Gaim, and two of its leaders are talking. They are Masaru Daimon of Raid Wild and Jyou Kido of Team Invitto.Masaru is intending to challenge Team Gaim believing that he has a chance to win even though Jyou advises him against it, with little success in making him change his mind.
"Okay..."
"Huh?"
"I'm going to challenge them!"
"Are you sure about this, Masaru-chan?"
"I'm sure!"
"But..."
"I'm not scared of their Armored Fighter...I could get a chance to win this..."
"You're loss then..."
As Masaru leaves to confront Team Gaim, two girls wearing glasses approached Jyou, who turn out to be members of Team Invitto and there they asked him if this is okay, in which Jyou replied that if Masaru managed to defeat Team Gaim, then they would earn the right to use the stage, and if that happens, then Team Invitto will challenge Raid Wild, which means if Invitto wins, they will earn the right to use the stage, which the two girls cooed with confidence.
By then, Masaru rudely interrupted Team Gaim's practice session, and there a confrontation between Masaru and Taiki took place, in which Taiki tries to use diplomacy to settle the matter, but Masaru wouldn't budge and demanded a match with him, which Taiki then set the wager, in which if Masaru wins, they will leave the stage, and if Taiki wins, he will get the Lock Seed as payment, which Masaru coolly agreed.
By then the battle is set and the match is underway as Taiki brought out two Lock Seeds and summoned two Invess Digimons, while Taiki brought out the Pineapple Lock Seed and summoned a strong, human-sized Digimon and the battle begins, which Masaru controls his Digimons to win the battle, yet Taiki is cool and collected and subtly controls his Digimon to execute two powerful strikes which led to victory, and Masaru is speechless at the result, and he is forced to surrender his Lock Seeds and left along with his teammates.

The next day, Team Gaim entered the dance competition and did their part, and surprisingly they were the hands-on favorite, which they won and moved on to the semifinal rounds, and this was their biggest break ever, and they were very happy about this though they felt that Henry hasn't shown up and wished that he was here to see this.
The following day, DJ Sagara announced on TV about Team Gaim's ascension andeven showed footages of Team Gaim's battles, inclusing Armored fighter Gaim, and the Team Baron members were complaining that this is unfair , though Ryouma Mogami and Ren Tobari are watching intently, noticing that Taiki is not going after teams whose ranking are higher than Team Gaim, and Ryouma was irritated and wanted to challenge Taiki though he knew that he couldn't do so at the moment, so he is thinking of a way to upstage him until his cellphone rang, in which he answered it and the caller turn out to be Sid, the lock dealer.
"Yes?"
"Hello, Mogami-kun..."
"What do you want?"
"I heard it...even though you're still on the top of the rankings, you lost to Team Gaim rather harshly..."
"Get to the point."
"With the recent announcement, I feel that the Invess Games are getting stale...but I think I know of a way to make things more interesting...and I have something to offer you...something that would help you get even with Team Gaim's Armored Fighter..."
"Seriously?"
"I am...and if you're interested..."
Ryouma is quite intriguedd by what Sid said, and when told that he has "something to offer" in order to make the Invess Games more interesting, Ryouma decided to head out and meet with Sid to find out what this "offer" is and how will this help him in his future battles.

It looked like Team Gaim is having a blast as they are now slowly becoming a household name in the Invess Games, having defeated several rival teams while at the same time they advanced in the dance competition and made it to the semifinal round, though their luck was bittersweet due to Henry Wong's continued absence, while Taiki is determined to find a way to search for Henry and bring him back.
Ryouma Mogami's determination to "surpass" Taiki has been renewed after being told by Sid that he has "something to offer" that would help him "reclaim" his team's spot, as well as get back at Team Gaim, in which it ended in a cliffhanger. You'll soon find out what that means in the next chapter.
