A/N:Time for s

ome more comedic fluff in between chapters! I know you've been waiting for Shinichi to be KID, but you never know with him. He's being very naughty. Oh, and btw, if you want to see a very good KID rper, check out my friend KilluaNatsume with her deviantart account of AskKurobaKid. She needs more fans and more people asking her questions. She's also unsure about doing Tumblr but she needs a push forward (a gentle push) to tell her it's okay to jump into the world of Tumblr. Okay, here it is, chapter 25!

Chapter 25 Shinichi's plan?

"Shi-ni-chi...are we going to do more than sit here reading? I'm booorrreedddd." Kaito whined, staring at his cousin as though he were insane.

"Kaito...Hattori and Kazuha were too loud for my tastes. I'm just glad they're gone. I need some time to recharge and figure out a plan," Shinichi retorted calmly.

"Socializing is amazing, Shinichi. Maybe if you stopped reading those dusty old books, you'd get more friends!" Kaito chirped.

Shinichi gave him a death glare. "Kaito, extroverts like you are insane. I'm fine with reading. I will not go to any other stupid heists or any of your other dumb ideas. We do have a plan-we just need to calm down and focus." Shinichi said in annoyance.

Kaito pouted. "Shin, this is why everyone in school called you a rock! They talk to you, but you don't talk back!"

"I only talk if there's something substantial to be said," Shinichi said darkly, "Besides, this is my idea of a vacation-if watching you ensures you don't try to escape like you've done exactly fifty-four times-I'm sure the doctors will be extra grateful. You can also stop trying to fly your glider outside. I saw it."

Kaito deflated. "Hey, itoko."

Shinichi didn't look up and turned a page, absorbed in his mystery novel.

"Shinichiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii..."

Still no response. Shinichi was doing an excellent job of ignoring his existence-he had that bad habit of doing it without being aware.

Finally, Shinichi spoke up again. "Kaito, you're disrupting my thinking, just like you always do. I suppose I might need some fish to shut you up-for heaven's sake, you've been whining for six hours straight," His eyes softened, "You're lonely, aren't you? Is that why you keep doing this? You think I'll leave you alone? You're crazy if you believe that."

Kaito burst out laughing. "Damn you and your perceptive detective mind! Why did you turn down Hattori's offer! It could've been fun, going against another detective-"

"He's nuts. I have no interest in playing as a detective for fun-it's a serious thing. It's not something to take lightly. Just thinking about him angers me-ARGHH!"

Kaito smirked. "That's surprising, coming from you, the meitantei who used to never turn down a case no matter what it was. What made you-"

"I...after seeing you hurt, I've come to realize being a detective is not easy. Up until now, I've seen things in merely shades of black and white, but the truth seems to be things aren't always as simple as arresting a criminal, criminal goes to jail, everyone's happy ever after. It's not that simple."

Kaito chuckled and then hit him with a magic trick. "You need to cheer up, Shin."

"Whatever, Kaito. And if you're thinking of sneaking out early tonight to go on another heist, think again."

"Shinichi, since I can't be KID, and since we look so much alike...do you think we can...?" Kaito began, but Shinichi already had an answer.

"No. My face is too recognizable and not only that, I don't know anything about the ways of a thief and I don't want to violate the law. It goes against what I stand for..." He muttered.

At that moment, his phone rang. Shinichi blinked and got up to examine it, only to promptly close it.

"Nakamori?"

"Nakamori," Shinichi answered. "Officer Insanity won't get me this time."

The cell rang again.

"Huh? Why are they calling me? Eh? OKAASAN? You're...no, you're not serious, are you? You've gotta be kidding me...no, no, I will not do that! NO! Are you insane? You're not...Otousan's agreeing to this, too! But you know Kaito's in no condition to do that! Eh? Chikage-obaasan told you to do this! Oi, oi..."

"What's going on?" Kaito questioned, but Shinichi didn't answer.

"...I see, no I'm not a jerk, Okaasan! I'm fine! I don't need to dress up! Why can't you stay over there? This will look bad for my reputation! What? Oi, oi...fine...bye..."

"What was that about?" Kaito asked a red-faced Shinichi.

"...Parents...they want to come here and visit, not only that, they want to torture us. What's our answer to that?"

"Tell Okaasan-"

"Chikage-obaa-chan's in on it, too. She wants you to 'get over' your silly fear of fish and wants you to go to the beach. Let's fake our deaths and change our names!"

"That's not enough. We'd need to move out of Japan first and go disguised. But we're dealing with people who know more about that than we do. We're screwed," Kaito shuddered.

"Being at the beach isn't a death sentence, Kaito! You do need to try to swim without screaming like a little girl every time a harmless-"

"D-D-DON'T SAY IT!" Kaito wailed.

"Kaito...this fear of fish is silly. You're not a kid anymore."

"Don't put it like that," Kaito whined, "This is a serious fear."

"Serious is sort of a stupid way of putting it."

"When are they coming?" Kaito said, reaching for the glass of water on his nightstand.

"Tomorrow," Shinichi said as Kaito was drinking the glass.

Kaito spat it all out at once. "Screw this! A thief doesn't languish in the hospital like a wimp! I'm going to flee from this damned hopsital if I can help it!"

"No, we have no choice. We have to endure this storm as it comes. All we have to do is die," Shinichi said darkly.

"Death is your best friend, Shin."

"Fish are your best friends, Kai, why do you run away from them?"

Omake 1: Kai and Shin's elementaqry school days

It was a normal, boring, rather dull and generally dryasdust day in Tokyo. It was especially dull for the innocent children who had been imprisoned by evil authoritarian jerks known as teachers!

The only hope for the universe lies in the hands of a brave thief and his dull detective companion known as Phantom Moonlight and the boring Detective.

What will these valiant warriors encounter today?

"Mr. Kuroba, there are no evil villains in the room," Sumiko sighed. "You can go find them on the playground."

"But it's boring..." Kaito whined. "Come on, class. Surely you wish to obtain freedom from your schoolmarm overlords! Don't you also long for justice?"

"Shut up, Kuroba," Sonoko Suzuki said. "I want to learn without stupid boys filling my head with magic and detective nonsense."

"Magic isn't nonsense, you stupid girl! Eat this!" Kaito cried, suddenly dying her hair orange and coating her in water.

"Sensei!" She whined.

"Kaito-kun, stop!" Ran said, "Shinichi, stop him! He's out of control-Shinichi?"

Her eyes widened at the sight before her. Shinichi was doubled over with laughter.

"Awesome, Kaito! That was an ingenious one! Did you see the look on her face? I can't believe we both did it!"

"Shinichi?" Ran said in disbelief.

Shinichi smirked. "Successful prank?"

Both Kaito and Shinichi had sore shoulders for the rest of the day due to being forced to hold water; but both of them decided to throw water at each other with it, which made it an ineffective punishment. Eventually Sumiko had to admit defeat...but only in Kaito's wildest dreams did that actually happen.
