"The Charm, where?" Naraku thought when he finally noticed the missing charm. How could this have happened?! Where could it be? His cheeks turn red, his vision went blurry, and his chest burned for the need of oxygen. "S-Sessh-oma-ru!" Naraku managed to choke out.
"Vile demon," Sesshomaru growls as he raised his trembling hand up to Naraku's eye level. Visions of Naraku tricking and attempting to kill Sesshomaru came to mind. The hatred and anger building up inside Sesshomaru has made him lose control of his demon.
"Damn it!" Naraku thought to himself as the need for oxygen grew stronger. His jagged tentacles suddenly sprang from his back and wrapped themselves around Sesshomaru's hands, neck, and waist. They flung the Demon Lord from Naraku as far as they possible. He falls to his knees and gasps for much needed air.
Sesshomaru lands on his feet and watches Naraku take long deep breaths. He smirks at the sight and walks towards Naraku. "That's right demon, bow before your lord," he says as his eyes turn into a deadly red color.
Still panting, Naraku turns to glare at Sesshomaru. As if Naraku would ever bow for such a worthless demon like Sesshomaru. He will pay for laying a finger on Naraku. Standing up to his feet, Naraku faces Sesshomaru and stands his ground. "Quit stalling and fight me," Naraku growls, ignoring the painful feeling in his heart.
Keeping his smirk on his lips, Sesshomaru dashes forward and aims his claws towards his enemy. The spider demon barely leaps out of the way, causing Sesshomaru to slash the tree Naraku was pinned to, in half. It falls to the ground with a loud crash. Not giving the tree a second thought Sesshomaru lunges himself towards Naraku once again. One by one, Naraku's jagged tentacles attempt to pierce and slash the demon Lord as he backs away in an attempt to distant themselves, but Sesshomaru dodges each one and manages to slice off the appendages.
"Why do you weep demon?" Sesshomaru asks, in between slashing Naraku, "is fighting me to much of a struggle for you?!"
Narakus growls angrily, since when did he start crying? The demon Lord then Summons his poisonous whip and lashes it at the spider demon. Naraku blocks the attack with his limbs but wasn't fast enough. The whip managed to cut Naraku's chin and bottom lip. "Hng!" The spider demon grunts painfully, feeling the burning sensation of the attack. Blood began to ooze out of his opened wound. While Naraku was distracted, Sesshomaru slashes Naraku's tentacles off. Before more manage to grow back from the spider demon, Sesshomaru claws Naraku's chest. "AH!" Naraku shrieks before falling to the ground on his back. "Ahg!" he grunts, placing his, trembling, hand over his wound.
Sesshomaru hovers over the spider demon and looks down at him pitifully. "End the worthless demon, do it now!" A voice in the back of Sesshomaru's head ordered as said demon raised his claws.
Naraku stares back up at the demon Lord and whimpers. He's about to die, yes that's obvious to see... but he's about to die in the hands of Sesshomaru. The demon he grew fond of. Naraku furrows his brows and lets the tears fall freely. "Sesshomaru..." Naraku says before his vision blurs up, "if I die... Then I'm glad its by your hands... my darling," he says before fainting.
Sesshomaru's eyes widened at Naraku's words. Darling? He's heard these words before but where?
...darling...
Sesshomaru grunts painfully as he hunched over, clenching his eyes shut. He placed his hands over his head. The voice in the back of his head remained quiet as Sesshomaru unconsciously restraint his inner demon and forced it to sleep. "What... happened?" he whispered to himself as he slowly opened his, now golden, eyes. His eyes widened at the sight of Naraku sprawled on the floor, unconscious, in a pool of his on blood. "Naraku?!" he nearly yells as he knelt down beside the spider demon and brings him close to his chest. "Naraku!" he shouts, trying his best to make the demon open his eyes and come to. "Did I do this?!" he asked himself when he noticed that he, himself, was also covered in already dry blood. What has he done? All he remembered is walking through the forest, fighting with his inner demon, and then as soon as he saw Naraku the world turned black.
"Hng" Naraku grunted in his sleep causing Sesshomaru to sigh in relief.
Good, his demon is still alive. There's no time to waste, he must aid him or it will be too late. Sesshomaru gently scoops Naraku up in his arms, bridal style. "I must find shelter," he thinks before bolting through the forest with Naraku in hand. His heart rate ran furiously, not from exhaustion but from fear of losing his demon. Sesshomaru searched around with narrowed eyes and sniffs the area. Any area he came across either was home to one or was festered with demons. They'd surely kill Naraku or perhaps feast on the demon once they see his wounded state. Sesshomaru came to a pause when he reached a tall hill and scanned his surroundings. That's when he noticed a waterfall, probably the one he fell from, not too far from where he was. He can see with his narrowed eyes that the waterfall seemed to have an opening in its middle. "A cave," Sesshomaru said as he leaped towards the sky and took flight towards the cave. He glanced down at Naraku every so often to make sure he was breathing.
Sesshomaru landed inside the cave and smelled the seemingly vacant place. No demon or human has discovered this cave yet. The scent of the water will cover Naraku's blood and the falling water will prevent others from seeing them. It's the perfect place for Naraku to rest without disturbance. Sesshomaru removes his fluffy cloak from his shoulders and places it on the ground in a "U" shape. He gently lies Naraku in the middle of the "U," so the demon can feel comfort as he rests. "Stay alive my demon," Sesshomaru ordered, almost in a harsh tone, "I shall return." With that being said, Sesshomaru quickly leaps out of the cave and flies towards a near by village. They must have some sort of herbs to help heal Naraku's wounds. He just hope's it wont be to late when he comes back.
"Uhg!" Naraku chocked out, waking from his slumber. "Ahg!" He shrieked as he felt a sharp, burning, pain come from his chest. "Wha-What is-ah happening?!"
"Lower your voice, I'm aiding your wound," Sesshomaru said as he continued to coat salve on Naraku's chest.
"Wh-why am I-I here? Hng!" Naraku hissed in confusion. Whats happened and why is he in this situation?
"Do you not remember the battle we had earlier?" Sesshomaru asked as he stopped his actions for a moment to look into Naraku's crimson eyes.
"Oh... that's right, I remember well," Naraku said, keeping his gaze on the ceiling. Scenes of their fight replayed in his head. Naraku was sure he was going to perish. "I wonder why he didn't finish me off? Why is he aiding me instead?" Naraku thought as he looked at his surroundings. Where has Sesshomaru taken them? By the looks of it, Sesshomaru seems to have taken Naraku to a cave. The sunlight shining through helped to identify his suspicions- "Ahg!" Naraku cried as Sesshomaru continued rubbing the salve on his wound.
"I told you to remain silent," Sesshomaru warned.
"Ahg! How can I stay silent when this pain is unbearable?!" Naraku hissed through clenched teeth. "Ahg!" Naraku's body trembled and jerked from the immense pain. If this continues he might black out once again.
"Do not talk back to me," Sesshomaru says harshly while glaring into Naraku's eyes, "or it will be the last thing you do."
Naraku gasped at the words coming from Sesshomaru's lips. He furrows his brows and looks away from the demon Lord without uttering a word. He shouldn't be surprised at Sesshomaru's bitterness, after all, his kindness was caused by that damn charm... but why was Sesshomaru helping him? Does he not remember the harm he's caused him back then, or that he was being tricked by Naraku? Perhaps the charm still has somewhat of an effect on Sesshomaru."Hng!" Naraku groaned, trying to keep his voice low. He surely does not want to temp Sesshomaru's patience.
What seemed like hours of torture only lasted within 10 minutes or so. Naraku sighs in relief as he took deep breaths. "Sit up," Sesshomaru ordered as he reached for an object beside him.
Naraku nodded as he tried his best to pull himself up, but the more he moved the greater the pain. He tried to suppress a hiss. "Damn," he instead groaned before falling back down on Sesshomaru's cloak. An irritated groan escaped Naraku's throat as he tried to pull himself up again. That's when he felt an arm on his back and a hand on his left writs.
"Don't strain yourself," he heard Sesshomaru whisper in his ear. Naraku nods as a faint blush spreads on his cheeks. Sesshomaru helps Naraku into a sitting position. "Remain still, I'm going to bandage you," Sesshomaru says as he places the end of a roll of bandage on Naraku's chest, causing him to flinch, and began to roll it tightly around Naraku's chest and back. This action wasn't as painful as when Sesshomaru was spreading the salve on his wound, but still, it did cause enough pain for Naraku to groan and flinch a little. "Naraku," Sesshomaru starts while he continued bandaging Naraku, "what I am about to ask you will be answered without lies. Know this, even if I am helping you live now, I can be the cause of your death in mere seconds. Do you understand?"
Naraku's eyes widened in surprise as he glances at Sesshomaru, who was still working on the bandage. "I must watch what I say then," he thought before keeping his gaze on the ground. He swallows the lump forming in his throat and nods. Sesshomaru contemplated his thoughts, leaving Naraku anxious and worried. Whatever the demon Lord will ask will surely lead to trouble.
"We are lovers, correct?" Sesshomaru suddenly asks, causing Naraku to jump.
"We are," Naraku answers as he cleared his throat.
"How long have we been lovers?"
"... Centuries,"
"Centuries? I see. Then tell me Naraku, if we've been together for such a long time then explain this," Naraku gasps in surprise as he felt Sesshomaru grasp his jaw and force him to make eye contact. "Why did my inner demon react so viciously towards you?" Sesshomaru growled as he glared into Naraku's eyes.
"T-that is because-"
"-If we were lovers then surely my demon would have recognize you in a positive way, instead he raged in anger and nearly killed you!" Sesshomaru said, raising his voice.
"...I think you're being tricked..." Miroku's words echoed in the back of Sesshomaru's head. His heart ached at the thought of being betrayed. If he was being fooled then he will fine out at this very instant.
"Sesshomaru...I," Naraku start as he grew panicked, "I-I honestly don't know why your demon attacked me-"
"-Do you think you're in a position to lie?" Sesshomaru asked as he tightened his grip on Naraku's jaw.
"You're hurting me," Naraku complained.
"I will make pain grow stronger then this once i find out you were lying to me," Sesshomaru exclaimed. "Now answer me demon, who are you and why are you intruding in my life?"
Naraku remained silent and kept his eyes clenched shut. His heart ran a mile and beads of sweat ran down his face. What should he do, better yet, what should he say? He can't even think of a good lie to say. He swallowed the lump in his throat.
"Will you not answer me?" Sesshomaru hissed causing Naraku to flinch harshly. An irritated "tsk" escaped Sesshomaru's lips as he release his grip on Naraku's jaw, letting him fall back on his fluffy cloak. Naraku groans in discomfort. "I'm done tending to you wound," Sesshomaru announced before standing up to his feet and walking out towards the entrance of the cave. "I'll take my leave now and don't expect me to come back," he says before taking off.
"I wouldn't dream of it," Naraku thought as he took deep breaths to calm his heart. He placed his hand over his chest. "Do you see now? It was the jewels doing, he has no feelings for you whats so ever. Hell, he even threatened to kill us," Naraku explained aloud, as if Onigumo could hear. Though if you were in the cave with the spider demon, you'd realize he was trying to convince himself rather then his beating heart.

So I'm on a roll with writing this! I hope the wait was worth it ^-^ Also, i know where this story is heading towards thanks to the help of my friends. I don't remember what my original idea was since it left me(it explains the long year wait)
