"Ooh, Piko, this will go soo well with your hair!"

"Gumi, try this on, because your eye colour is the same as mine, it should go well-"

"Hey, hold on, I can pick out my own clothes-"

"Rin, my hair colour would look horrid with that, I can't even try that on-"

"Well, I want to make you pretty!"

"It will go fine, Gumi, we're only looking at eye colours-"

"Boys can be pretty? Try handsome, and nothing in this store is-"

"Yeah, but it isn't very nice on me, you'll hate it, I'll try on this at least-"

It was clear pandemoneum, but pretty normal, with Miku and Rin. Both enjoyed, it seemed, to watch us wear the outfits and to make us look 'pretty', Miku says, but Rin's fashion sense, when it comes to me, is downright ugly. Miku was a bit better with Piko, but he's the plainer type, to wear no logos style. I like that type a lot, and despite many efforts, I've remained steady in my style. Piko's holding out considerably well right now, and it's actually terrifying to see Miku or Rin come at you, grinning wickedly, some sort of clothing in their hands.

I'm worried that we might never leave this store, the rate we're going.

It's a whole three hours later when we're finally done. I drag all three of my companions to a small cafe, where I get every one a drink, and I get myself a hot chocolate. I make sure that I have enough money for anything before I buy it, and I was just lucky enough to pay the full bill, with a quarter and three pennies extra.

Everyone relaxed when we returned to my place, sagging on the couches, our many bags spilling over, most of us half-asleep in our seats.

"If we ever do this again, I'm letting Gumi pick for me," Piko muttered, to a drowsy chuckle.

It was then that the lock to the front door clicked.

All of us jumped and ran, quickly and quietly, to my room. We had our bags, everything. When the door shut behind me, we all sagged again. I listened.

"Hey, what's this?" A rustle. Then, both Piko and I pale as we remember that I'd dropped a bag- which I'd left downstairs- behind my legs...

Then, the crinkling of the recipt.

"Hmm. Gumi's friends must have left it here earlier. I'll put it in her room," my father muttered, then began walking towards us. I began to shove everyone towards the walk-in closet, hissing for Miku and Rin- who were arguing- to shut up. When we were in, we all held our breaths.

My door opened. Then, moments later, the walk-in closet door opened, accompanied by Miku and Rin's screams, me ducking under a pile of coats, and Piko swearing loudly.

"Miku! Rin! What are you doing?" They were both shaking violently, and Piko was melting into one of the sides of the closet rather quickly, but he was too late.

"And who the hell are you?" Piko muttered something inaudible to my father, but I heard it clearly- "Gumi's friend." I kicked him, shooting daggers with my eyes.

"Gumi! What- why-" Dang, I was spotted.

"Mr. Nemanon, we had just returned from a very long shopping trip-"

"Not long enough," Rin muttered, and Miku ignored her.

"And we were a bit frightened, and-" Suddenly she cut off, her face red. She turned to her right, and growled, "Say that again and I'll hang you by your ankles." A few moments later, she slapped. My father swore and jumped, Piko snorted, only to raise his hands up and look innocent as Miku whipped around to him, and Rin pretended she hadn't seen a thing. Meanwhile, I was giggling uncontrollably at Miku, who looked a lot like she'd just gotten off a rollercoaster. Her hair was bushy and it looked darker, most likely from the extra shadows, and she had a highly red face. She looked like... well, I can't remember the person's name now, but they had really bushy hair...

I know, I can't remember either...

I tried to stop smiling.

Tried being the key word.

My father had recovered by then, and I stuffed my fist in my mouth so I would stop giggling.

"Gumi... who is that?" He pointed at Piko.

"Piko." It was simply said.

"Okay, Gumi, so this was the boy you named your mon-"

"Say that louder, father, and you'll wish you'd never even touched my doorknob."

"Wow, Gumi, you're perfectly suited for your last name!"

"Shut it." He was grinning. I turned back to my father.

"You will never do so much as even mention the past few months unless a sudden desire for a slow, painful death hits you, in which case, you just make a single comment, and you'll be done for. Understood?" He's in evident disbelief when I start, but when I pull out a knife that was sheathed to my hip, he nods, not taking his eyes off the knife. Then, Miku elbows Kaito, with Piko giggling.

"I'm not kidding, I see some hooks and a bit of rope in that corner, and I'll certainly string you on the ceiling," she says threateningly. There's a bit of blood on her elbow, which makes me think that she gave Kaito a nosebleed. I lean over to Piko.

"What'd he say?"

"That you could give Miku lessons." This time, I successfully hid my grin.

Rin, who had gone unnoticed for a while, was apparently sleeping now on the wall. Her face was calm, and she twitched a bit. I noted that she looked a little pale.

I watched as my father seemed to reach for something, so I quickly swept my leg under his, making him fall. He was reaching for the hidden can of mace, which I hid behind my mirror. How he found it, though, is something I don't think I want to know.

I dive, pin him down, then hold my knife closer to his face.

"Don't think I didn't know what you were doing. I know my room like the back of my hand." He watched the knife, ignoring me. "So, I'll ask now... let me leave." Miku looked up, shocked. Rin was still feigning sleep, and Piko just slammed the back of his head into the closet wall.

"What?"

"I want to leave. You won't accept me, so why should I stay? I have the resources to live on my own. So I'll leave, tommorow, and that should be the last you will ever see from me." He blinks, Miku wolf-whistles, and I block-with my left hand- Piko from ramming his head into the wall again.

"You're very funny, Gumi, but-"

"I'm telling the truth. This is the last night you'll see me like this. After that..." I trailed off, twirling the knife in my hand.

"...I'll be long gone."

llllllllllllllllllllllllll

I stared at the packed boxes. Miku was curled up, in a double sleeping bag, with Kaito, her expression sweet. Rin, who appeared like she'd knocked herself out- though how, we have no idea- in the closet, was on a small stack of pillows. Or, as I'd never been to a sleepover with her, she was just a heavy sleeper. Piko and I were in my bed, with a small barrier. It had been destroyed the moment we felt Miku fall asleep.

Now, Piko had fallen asleep, and I was only a few minutes away from doing so as well.

I stared up at the ceiling, my head throbbing.

I felt...

...emotionless.

I had no idea why, but I felt like there was something I was forgetting, something important.

Maybe I'll remember it in the morning.

I yawn, then shut my eyes.

I'll be long gone, far away from this place by tommorow.

The prospect makes me feel dizzy, so I forget it.

I have a feeling that something is going to go horribly wrong soon.

I wonder if it'll appear in my dreams.

So much has happened to us within the course of a month...

...it makes me wonder if we'll all be screwed up by the end of the year.
