Lucian Swan wasn't always his name. In another world, years into the future, he was an average, normal human being. Now that he's been reincarnated into Twilight as Bella Swan's cousin... normality is just wishful thinking. Add the fact that the Volturi guard have been stalking him wherever he goes, and that he's now a WITCH! his life quickly becomes one for the storybooks.

Hello! Thank you for reading Part 1 of 'Dearest Cousin'. From now on, the story will no longer be held back by canon, and I can begin to expand years into the future. I do not know how long Part 2 will be, but I do know that It's going to have a lot more to it than Part 1.

I actually started writing this chapter all the way back in early 2021 :) And it is based on the characters at the end of chapter 13 ( 1st January 2007). If there seem to be things missing, that's because 1: I also don't know what goes there or 2: It's on the Twilight Fandom pages. 3- I forgot to write it. 4- It wasn't important enough to state.

I also found some old notes: The story would have ended at this point, with Luce going to Volterra. Originally, I had planned to just focus on him being in Volterra within the timeline but eventually decided that I wanted more freedom. It would have only had 17 chapters in total, as well. Now, from what I have planned, it'll have around 40. [Also, I'm currently majorly editing this story, and adding more scenes, so watch out for that.]

PART 2- A New Beginning [Kind of]

Lucian stared out of the plane window, watching as the ground got further and further away. He sighed in agitation and regret, Sage sat on his lap and purring away, oblivious to his dampened mood.

A clearing of a throat to his side alerted him of Marcus' presence, the most recent attempt of his Mates to get a conversation out of him." Lucian-"

" No."

A sigh, obviously put on because that's such a human thing to do and you don't even need air, Marcus- " Sweetheart-"

" I said, no." The man huffed, seating himself heavily next to him, much to his disapproval. " No matter what you say, I-"

" I'll punch Caius for you, just give me your word and I swear, I will."

" What?"

" He deserves a good punch, no matter that I'll probably get mauled for it. So?"

It startled a laugh from his raw throat, sore from over an hour of crying non-stop before exhaustion had begun to set in. " Oh my god, Marcus, no!" He wheezed once more, coughing into his fist. " For fuck- oh go on, then. Make it a good one!"

The man grinned, whizzing off. Lucian knew, theoretically, that Caius and every other inhabitant of the jet had heard their conversation, but was betting that the blond king would allow it to happen: if only to momentarily appease him.

True to his thoughts, a black and white blur abruptly flew past and slammed into the floor a few meters in front of him, promptly jumping to its feet with a snarl.

" Marcus! You blithering fool!"
