Chapter 8: Kim's BFF!

The night after the date at Kim's house.

Kim's POV

As I went to bed I heard a buzz and got to my phone and unlocked it. It was a text from my Bff whose name is Ashley.

Kim's Text Message (Kim is normal/Ashley is bold)

Hey BFF! Guess what?

What?

I'm moving to Seaford!

Omg! No way!

Yes way and I won't start school until the day after tomorrow!

When are you coming?

Tomorrow!

Seriously? Um, I'm kinda busy tomorrow so I can we reschedule for the day after tomorrow?

Sure! I'll just go visit the mall.

Yay! She's coming to town! But, I'm kind of worried because I haven't told her about the guys, karate, and my crush…. Jack Anderson. I thought.

Well, when explain to her that I have a crush on him then she'll probably won't be interested in him because if she has a crush on him because I mean who wouldn't! Our friendship could be jeopardized. Well, I can only hope for the best. I thought as I drifted my thoughts into sleep.

Next Day…

Kim's POV

RING! RING! RING!

I popped out of bed still groggy from my sleep. I went into my closet deciding what to wear and changed into a white ruffle tank top with a pink designer scarf, and jean shorts. As I began getting my cereal and pouring my milk in, my phone buzzed. It was Jack.

Kim's Text Message (Kim is normal/Jack is bold)

Hey Kim! Meet you in ten minutes?

Sure! I have some news!

Cool me too. See ya!

I began gobbling down my food then finished and brushed my teeth. The doorbell rang and I ran downstairs, got my backpack, and opened the door.

"Hey Jack!' I greeted as we began to walk.

"Hey Kim, so what was the big news?" he questioned.

"Oh, um my best friend is coming to moving here to Seaford," I said happily.

"Cool! Well, I'll be glad to meet her!" I replied.

"And your news?" I asked.

"Donna and I kissed last night," Jack said in a happy tone.

"Ah, cool," I said trying to hide my jealousy.

We got in school and went to our lockers to get my books. Just when I was about to head to Jack's locker, Donna took the chance and started to flirt with Jack. Ugh. But I just went to Jack's locker anyways. Donna glared at me. I think Jack noticed because his hands clenched a little. Then Donna went closer to me.

"What do you want?" Donna sneered.

"I was just going to talk to Jack," I said.

"Well he's too busy with his girlfriend, me, so I suggest you walk away mutt!" Donna growled.

"Hey! No one talks to my friend like that!" Jack stated angrily.

Aww, he stood up for me! SNAP Out of it Kim! This is not the time to think about Jack like this! I thought.

"I think you should stay out of this Jackie-poo because you don't want to be seen with this wanna-be," Donna said.

"Hey, guess what Donna?" Jack sneered.

"What?" Donna snarled.

"We ARE OVER! Jack advised.

"Hey! You can't break up with me!" Donna demanded

"I can and just did! So buh-bye!" Jack said as he catched up with me.

"Hey, Kim you okay?" Jack asked.

"No, I just ruined the chances of you and her," I stated.

"Well, she was never the right girl for me but she's there somewhere," he said.

"Well, anyways um I won't be able to go to the dojo today," I said.

"Okay, I'll tell Rudy, but why aren't you coming?" Jack questioned.

"Oh, I have to go to and have..um.. a dinner with my grandparents," I lied.

"Oh, okay," he said.

We went our separate ways because Jack has Algebra and world history.

As I entered the classroom, I saw Donna and her little crew pointing and talking about me. Looks like this is going to be a looong class period! Ugh. I made my way and sat in my desk. Surprisingly the classes went quicker than I thought and it was lunch time.

I went into the cafeteria and got a seat next to Grace.

"Hey Grace!" I whispered but she didn't answer.

"Grace!" I screamed in a whisper.

"Oh, sorry Kim," Grace replied.

"What's distracting you?" I asked curiously.

"I like J-," Grace studdered.

"You like Jack?" I questioned.

"Heck no! He's yours, anyways I like Jerry but I don't think he notices me!" Grace stated.

"Grace, I'm one of his best friends and he sometimes yaps non-stop about you, which is oddly kind of annoying, no offence," I said.

"Really, I feel so much better that you say that!" Grace beamed.

"So what's new with you?" Grace asked.

"Oh, um my best friend back home is moving to Seaford but I'm kind of worried," I chatted.

"Why are you worried? Oh, is because your skin tone isn't tan enough? Or is because your eye shadow doesn't match you're outfit? Or-," Grace was interrupted by me.

"Neither! It's because I haven't told her about my crush," I whispered.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, who's this crush you didn't tell me about?" Grace babbled.

"Jack," I whispered quietly.

"Hah! I knew it! I knew it!" Grace smirked.

"You knew what?" Jack said as he walked up to us.

"I knew that Kim has a cru- crush soda in her lunchbox," Grace finished.

"Um, okay, see you guys later," Jack said.

"Hey, were girls!" I mentioned and Jack rolled his eyes.

"Well, what should I do Grace?" I asked.

"Well, if you want to get your skin tanner," I interrupted Grace.

"No, not that!" "What am I supposed to do because my best friend is moving here and she doesn't know I have a crush um on Jack," I whispered.

"Well, I would just tell her quickly before she starts crushing on Jack too!" Grace answered.

"Thanks for the advise Grace, you are awesome!" I said.

"And you just noticed that I'm awesome just now?" Grace said cockily and I rolled my eyes headed to the next class.

As school past by very quickly which is hard to believe I went to the store to get Jack an anniversary present since its tomorrow is the anniversary when me and Jack met! I first went to the rock'n'roll store to get a CD of his favorite singer and also a guitar. Lastly, I went to the skateboard shop and got Jack the skateboard he has been dying to get! I love seeing my best friend/crush happy. I went home to finish homework our teachers torture us with.

Jack's POV

I started to walk home from the bobby wasabi dojo and bumped into someone.

"Sorry," I apologized.

"No its my fault," She said.

"Well I'm Jack," I introduced myself.

"Cool, I'm Ashley, I'm new here!" Ashley said.

"Cool, do you want me to show you around?" I asked.

"Sure, I'd like that," Ashley said.

"That's the Bobby Wasabi dojo I train there, Falafel Phil's, Honey Buns, Captain Corndog, Circus Burger, Reptile World, and other shops," I pointed out.

"Cool you do karate? What belt are you," Ashley said.

"A second degree black belt," I confirmed.

"Wow," she said.

"I know we just met and all but do you want to go out to the movies tomorrow?" I asked.

"Sure, here's my number," Ashley said.

"Thanks! I see you tomorrow! Bye!" I said.

"Bye!" Ashley said back.

Kim's POV

I went over to my bed and my phone buzzed it was Ashley.

Hey Ashley! How do you like Seaford so far?

Good and guess what?

I scored a date!

Really? You have got to stop hitting on boys! But what's his name? Maybe I know him.

For your information he asked me. Plus I think he is the one for me! He is sweet, karate person, and super cute! His name is Jack!

When I saw Jack's name I tried to hold back the tears but I couldn't! I can't believe she's going out with Jack! Ugh. Just when Jack and Donna break up, Jack and my best friend are dating! But Jack and Ashley don't know that so I can't blame them! Ugh. I thought.

Oh. He is my best friend!

Cool! You have to pick out an outfit! Since you're his best friend!

Oh. Ok

Well bye! I have to get my beauty sleep for Jack!

I cried and cried and didn't even bother showing up to eat dinner. Ugh. Love is so crazy for me! Then I cried myself to sleep.

Jack's POV

I went home on my skateboard and saw a package.

It said mailed to Jack Anderson. I smiled.

It was my anniversary present to Kim! A charm bracelet! Then I put it into back in the box and thought of something to engrave onto the charm bracelet but I couldn't stop thinking about the date! Ashley was all I could think about! Could this day be more better? I then decided to text Ashley.

Hey Jack! Can't wait until tomorrow!

So um what school are you going too?

Seaford!

Cool! I was thinking if I can walk you to school?
