Chapter 9: The Worst Anniversary and Awesome Date!
Jack's POV
I woke up to the sound of my annoying alarm clock. I got out of bed still groggy from my sleep. I began to get kind of annoyed but then I remembered it's my date and Ashley! Then I quickly went to eat my cereal. Then, brushed my teeth. After that, I got changed into a white t shirt and a red button down shirt not button then blue pants. I got my back pack and someone texted me. It was Ashley.
Jack's Text Messages (Jack is normal/Ashley is bold)
Hey Jackie!
Hey Ashley!
So come at my house and walk me to school?
Of Course! Meet you there in a bit!
Okay! See you Jackie!
See you Ashley!
End of Text Message.
I got out the door and thought I forgot something but I just ignored it. (If you guys are wondering what Jack forget it's the charm bracelet for Kim on their anniversary today, which he forgot!) I grabbed my skateboard and skated until I got to Ashley's house. I walked up to the doorstep and pressed the doorbell. It went ding dong and the door opened to Ashley's amazing face but in my heart it felt like there was someone else I knew more and was better than Ashley. Then, I looked at Ashley and got lost into her eyes. She looked so gorgeous. She was wearing white shorts with a pink tank top.
"Hey Jackie!" Ashley greeted.
"Hey Ashley!" I replied.
"Well, let's go!" Ashley said.
"Okay. Let's go on my skateboard," I included.
"No offense, but there is no way I'm going on the toy," Ashley commented.
Wow, that was the same reaction with Donna. "Fine, let's just then, it's only five minutes away and it's only seven fifty," I said.
"Okay, then tell me about yourself," Ashley said.
"Well, I'm a second degree black belt, skateboard a lot, cook lots of dishes, get good grades, and hate the taste/scent of blue cheese," I informed Ashley.
"Okay, um my turn. I do ballet, crafts, horseback riding, and hate last season's clothes," Ashley informed me.
"Cool, cool, well we're here now!" I pointed out.
"Cool, well can you help me get my schedule?" Ashley asked.
"Sure, let's go!" I said.
Kim's POV
I got up and changed into a yellow ruffled tank top with a blue designer scarf. I went downstairs and poured in my cereal and milk. I gobbled down my food and quickly went to the bathroom to brush teeth. I grabbed my phone and backpack and headed downstairs. I waited for a text from Jack since we always go skate to school unless he was sick or walking with the guys but mostly he would text me if he was doing something else. Then, I felt like I was a little forgotten. My crush Jack never did this to me but I had to stay strong! I walked out the door and skated my way to school. I went to my locker and waited for Jack but he didn't show. I went to first period and I asked Grace where he was but she didn't know. Classes flew by and lunch had came.
Lunch Time
I walked into the cafeteria and saw the guys but no Jack. Now, I'm a little freaked out but worried and also forgotten.
"Hey guys!" I greeted.
"Hey Kim!" The guys replied.
"Kim, do you know where Jack is?" Milton asked.
"I was just about to ask you guys but why would you think I know, you guys are his best friends," I stated.
"Yeah, but you're his secret girlfriend, am I right Kim?" Jerry said.
"I DO NOT LIKE JACK!" I growled.
"Okay, okay, relax Kim," "We we're just joking but we are worried if something happened to Jack," Eddie reassured.
"Me too, I'm freaking out already!" I stated.
"Aw, Kim is freaking out about her wittle crush," Jerry teased in a baby voice.
"Say that again and you will regret that we have a sword in the dojo," I spat.
"Okay, okay!" Jerry said while raising his hands in defense.
"Oh, yeah by the way my best friend will be starting school today but I'm not so sure where she is," I said.
"What happens if Ashley and Jack dated," Milton joked.
"Oh, yeah Jack and my best friend Ashley are going on a date tonight," I said in a worried voiced.
"Whoa, whoa, why would Jack do that to you?" Eddie questioned.
"Oh, um because I didn't find out until last night," I informed.
"Yeah, but at least it isn't you're anniversary with Jack then that would be very sad," Jerry joked.
I cried a little and I noticed Milton and Eddie hit Jerry's arm.
"Ow, okay I'm confused," Jerry stated.
"Jerry, you're always confused!" "But today is Jack and Kim's Friendship Anniversary!" Milton said.
"Oh, that's not swag yo!" Jerry commented.
"You think!?" Milton nagged.
"Okay, sorry, sorry, but I know Jack wouldn't do this to Kim because he told us he had a crush on K-," Milton put his hand over Eddie's mouth.
"Katherine Davis," Milton finished.
"Okay?" I said suspiciously.
"Now, all we have to do is spy on Jack," Jerry said.
"But you guys don't even know where he is going," I said.
"Yeah, but Kim knows where Jack and Ashley's date is!" Milton confirmed.
"Ugh, I can't believe I'm saying this but they are going to the movies," I said.
"Do you know what movie?" Milton asked.
"Why are you guys even spying on Jack?" I asked.
"Because Kim, you are our best friend and we kind of owe you because you got me with Julie, Eddie at cooking, and Jerry being just a little confident and besides we don't want you to get hurt just from Jack plus it's your Anniversary with him! And he didn't even talk to you!" Milton said.
"Thank you but who said I was hurt of Jack?" I questioned.
"Kim, we all know you and Jack have feelings for each other but both of you are too stubborn to say so!" Milton stated.
"Don't tell anyone espically Jack but since you guys are my best friends, I might have a little crush on Jack," I said but mumbled the last part because they didn't hear me.
"We promise but what did was the last part you said?" Milton said.
"I have a little crush on Jack," I confirmed.
"Oh, finally!" "Kim admits it!" Eddie said.
"Okay, back to the plan?" I said.
"Oh, right, so how are we going to find out what movie they are going to do?" Milton said.
"Well, I'm helping Ashley with her outfit so I'll text you guys later about the movie they are watching and we can meet at the movie theater!" I explained.
"Okay! We will meet you later at?" Milton asked.
"Oh, um meet there at seven and try to get some disguises because Jack will probably notice you," I said.
"Oh, okay!" Milton said.
"Okay, so looks like Kim has a wittle crush on Jackie-po!" Jerry said.
"You better run Jerry!" Milton said as my eyes got fierce and her hands clenched.
I ran towards Jerry into the halls and finally got a hold of him to take it back but he kept saying-
"Jack and Kim sitting in a K-I-S-S-I-N-G," Jerry said.
I slap his arm and kind of punched his stomach and that's when I knew he has had enough until I heard him say-
"Oh, Kimmy and Jackie-po would be such a good couple, KICK prevails!" Jerry said.
I hit his arm once again as he winced holding his gut but actually thought Kick was a good couple name for me and Jack, SNAP OUT of it KIM!
~The Date later that night~
Kim's POV
"Hey Kim, thanks for coming!" Ashley said.
"No problem, just here to help my best friend trying to impress my other best friend," I said trying to hide my jealously.
We went upstairs and went in her bedroom.
"Okay, so what do you think I should wear?" Ashley asked.
"Oh, um I think you should wear something casual but comfortable!" I said.
"Do you think Jack would be impressed?" Ashley questioned.
"Well, I think you should stay true to yourself and he is happy with the way you are," I stated.
"Nah, I'm going to wear a dress instead but thanks for the advice anyways," Ashley denied.
"Okay, then, suit yourself," I mumbled.
"Come on just help me find a dress," Ashley mentioned.
~Thirty minutes later~
"Okay! I love this dress!" Ashley said.
I looked at the dress and it was sparkly from top to bottom! I know Jack doesn't really go for a girl all that but it's my best friend we are talking about! I just feel that when they break up me and Jack would be boyfriend and girlfriend but wouldn't that be bad for Ashley? But still I had a crush on him first hah! But she is going out with him! Why?! Oh, yeah I forgot I didn't tell Ashley that Jack was my crush! Ugh, I'm so scared to tell her.
"Finally you picked! But don't you think that's too fancy for a movie," I questioned.
"Nah, it's better to be fashionable then sorry," Ashley said.
"You do know it's better to be safe than sorry, right?" I said.
"Yeah, I just rephrased it," Ashley claimed.
"Okay!" I replied.
"So what movie are you two seeing?" I asked.
"Oh um Life as we know it," Ashley said.
"Oh, wow," I said.
Jack doesn't really like chick flicks. I'm not sure if he is going to go through the movie with sleeping. This is going to be interesting to watch! He he. I thought.
"What?" Ashley asked.
"Oh nothing," I said. Then she shrugged.
~twenty minutes later~
Ding Dong!
"Looks like that's Jack!" Ashley beamed.
"Yeah, well, I'll be going to go out with my friends from the dojo!" I said.
"Wait, huh?" Ashley questioned confusingly.
"Oh, yeah I do karate with Jack along with Jerry, Eddie, and Milton, we are all best friends," I stated.
"Cool, what belt?" Ashley asked.
"Oh, um black belt," I answered.
"Wow, that's so cool!" Ashley commented as we went to open the door.
"Hey Jack!" Ashley said.
"Hey Ashley! Kim? What are you doing here?" Jack questioned.
"Oh, Ashley is my best friend, you know the one I said that moved here from my hometown," I stated.
"Oh, really?" Jack said.
"Yeah but I don't mind at all," I said.
Then Jack and me gazed into each other's eyes but then I turned away because he doesn't remember today is our friendship anniversary. Then I saw in the corner of my eye that Jack looked a little hurt.
"Cool, cool," Jack said.
"Well, see you guys tomorrow, I'll be out with the guys!" I said.
"Okay, see ya," Jack and Ashley said simultaneously.
Jack's POV
Whoa, I did not see this coming! The only reason, I went out with Ashley is because I know Kim would say no if I asked her out. Now, I feel bad doing this to Ashley! Especially since I just found out that Ashley is Kim's best friend! Well, I might just have fun! I kind of like Ashley.
"Well let's go to the movie theater!" I said.
"Okay!" Ashley replied as we walked out the door to the movies.
~Five minutes later~
"Well, we're here!" I informed Ashley.
"Cool!" I said.
"You buy the tickets and I'll buy the food!" I said.
"Okay!" Ashley said.
Kim's POV
As I left Ashley's house I texted the guys what movie they were going to watch and to meet me at the movie theater to spy on Jack and Ashley. I also brought Jack's anniversary presents
I went to the movie theater and got four tickets to the movie and met the guys at the snack bar.
"Hey guys!" I greeted as I walked towards them.
"Hey Kim," the guys whisper.
"So, what's the movie about anyways?" Milton asked.
"It's a romantic comedy," I said.
"Ugh," The guys whimpered.
"Just play along and do the reason why we are here in the first place. By the way you're disguises are kind of cheesy except you Eddie," I said. Milton was a detective and that didn't help because you could recognize his face. Eddie was a grandma and looked kind of realistic. Jerry was a clown but you could see his face too so that didn't help.
"Hey! At least we tried, yo!" Jerry said.
"Okay fine let's just go into the movie theater and spy on them," I stated.
"Okay!" the guys replied.
We all went into the movie theater and sat in the back row. Milton had brought four binoculars for him, Jerry, Eddie, and me. We all took turns every ten minutes. Sometimes Eddie and Jerry would fall asleep then Milton and I would have to squeeze their cheeks to wake them up. The movie was very enjoyable to me but when it comes to the guys they would always comment on it.
"Why couldn't they watch a documentary instead?" Milton said.
"I wish this is a dream, then I could be eating falafel balls!" Eddie whispered.
"This not how my swag weekends works, yo!" Jerry screamed in a whisper.
"Ugh, shut it!" I growled. Luckily no one heard me except Milton, Jerry, and Eddie.
"Okay, okay," The guys obeyed.
As soon as the movie ended with a happy ending the lights went on. We all got up quickly but Jerry was still getting up and as soon as he got up Jack screamed a little and then flipped him.
"Oh, Jack why did you do that to me bro?" Jerry said.
Oh, no! Our plan is ruined then the was ruined because Jack saw Milton, Eddie, and me! Oh, no!
"Jerry? Kim? Eddie? Milton? What are you guys doing here?" Jack questioned angrily.
The guys and I ran as fast as we could but Jack catched up along with Ashley and caught my wrist.
"Kim! Why do this to me? Are you jealous or something?" Jack said.
"No! But it looks like you don't remember!" Kim growled.
"Don't remember what?" Jack spat.
"Look if you don't remember then what's the point!?" I sneered.
"I don't know why you did this to me but I didn't nothing wrong but you did!" Jack shouted.
"Wow, really? You don't know why I did this? Then you're the worst best friend ever!" I said but I regretted about what I said because I saw a lot of hurt in his eyes. Then I threw him his anniversary present's at him on the floor
"What the heck are these? You know what? Live your life, Kim. Our friendship is over!" Jack said and grabbed the items and left me there.
"What the heck Kim! Why did you ruin my date with Jack?" Ashley growled.
"Because," I said.
"That's what I thought! This friendship is over too!" Ashley replied angrily.
I cried my way home. Locked my door and didn't even bother paying attention to my sister knocking on my door. I just couldn't believe Jack and Ashley aren't my best friend's anymore! Now how am I supposed to go through Home Ec. tomorrow with Jack in my class? Ugh. Then I got myself to cry into my sleep.
Milton's POV
I saw what happened with Jack and Ashley not being Kim's friends anymore then Jack came up with me and the guys.
"What the heck Eddie, Milton and Jerry! Why did you guys spy on us? Huh? I thought you guys were my best friends!" Jack said.
"We are Jack! But you hurt Kim too much and you don't even realize what you forgot!" I stated angrily.
"What did I forget? Huh?" Jack growled.
"You forgot- you know what? Never mind! If you were Kim's best friend you would really know!" I hissed.
"Ugh, like it would be that important!" Jack barked.
"It is! Look what's in your hands right now Jack!" I pointed out.
"These are presents from Kim but I don't know why," Jack said.
"How could you not know bro?" Jerry said.
"Yeah! But since you're not that caring for Kim we aren't you friends anymore!" Eddie said.
"You better have a good reason why then," Jack hissed.
"Never mind Jack. You're too clueless why Kim even bought you those presents! Come on guys! Let's get out of here!" I said.
"Fine! Go ahead!" Jack shouted.
