Chapter 7: Ironbound

"Alright everyone, Daiyu's just uphead." Hannah smiled "Get ready."

Xavier placed his DMR on his back "Okay, Jirou and I will go with the first group. Damian and Hannah go with the second one, you'll be taking the warthog"

"Understood, who will be answering to?" Damian asked

"Elijah Delaney" Xavier answered, he loaded a Grenade launcher and placed it on his back "You'll know when you see him."

-Daiyu-

A small group of huntsmen stood in the town. They were ready to begin their hunt for UMBR.

Elijah Delaney stood attentive, taking a list of everything they were packing for the hunt. He was a 52-year-old man, grizzled Huntsman. He'd had probably seen every corner of Remnant and then some. He wore a large suit of Damacus plated armor, adorned with red ribbons around the arms.

"How long until the Spartans arrive?" Elijah asked one of the huntsmen

The huntsman looked at a tablet "Uh, in a few moments…"

A faint noise slowly approached the town, Elijah turned to the source and saw an Airship, it was foreign from any kingdoms. The Spartans were here.

"Let's go, we should get acquainted with them" Elijah motioned to the ship

The Pelican's door slowly opened, the four Spartans walked out, taking in the sight of Daiyu. Hannah looked around "Y'all see Elijah?"

"Spartans!" They heard a voice speak out, they turned to the source and saw Elijah walking towards them

Xavier nodded "Elijah Delaney"

The Huntsman stopped next to the Spartans, he quickly inspected them "These are the Spartans I've heard so much about."

"Yes sir, we have also heard of you. Quite the history" Jirou answered the huntsman

"Come on, I'll inform you who you'll be going with" Elijah nodded

-Beacon Academy-

Weiss looked around Remnant's internet.

She was looking for any sort of symbols that were similar or identical to the UNSC, it couldn't be too hard to find. "They aren't from Vale…"

An eagle symbol for an organization was common, it represented swift yet precise attacks. Though for the Schnees, a snowflake was suited best, for the snowy climate they are based in. "Not Atla-"

Ruby tapped Weiss' shoulder "Hey Weiss!"

"By the heav- Ruby! Don't sneak up on me like that!" Weiss held her chest

"Oh, sorry- But what're you doing?"

"I'm trying to find any sort of match with UNSC" Weiss spoke "There hasn't been anything aside from a few shady sites…probably from Vacuo"

"Hmm. That's odd" Ruby sat next to her partner "Even though they're recent they should show up on the internet"

"Hmm…I do have my own theories." Weiss thought that they could be from Atlas, they were known for being secretive about their things. It wouldn't surprise her if they did that, no one would be surprised…maybe Ruby, but no one would be surprised.

Weiss suddenly stood up, knocking Ruby down "I know what to do!"

-Warehouses-

Team RWBY stood outside the warehouse the Spartans usually left to after the day. Yang wasn't feeling it today, she looked slumped and tired.

"I thought you told me you went to the dog park." Weiss asked their Faunus teammate

Blake scoffed "You believed that? What are we doing here anyway?"

Weiss turned back to the Warehouse, she took a step towards it "We're here to solve a mystery that has shown up to our very school"

"We're gonna trespass the Spartan's warehouse?" Ruby asked

Weiss nervously scoffed "Hah-pfft, No! We're just going to enter the warehouse whilst avoiding the teachers and Spartans and not letting them know that we came in the first place"

"…"

Yang slowly lifted her hand "Isn't that-"

"Shush!" Weiss stood upright "Let's g-"

"Team RWBY?" Glynda suddenly spoke

"AH!" Weiss jumped in place, she wasn't expecting to have Glynda show up out of nowhere "H-how are you ?!"

"I was going to inspect the Warehouse, in case of any wiring faults" Glynda motioned to the latter building "May I ask what you are doing here?"

Weiss immediately scrambled for any excuse "O-oh uh! We were going for a- uh-"

"A cardio run." Yang mumbled

Glynda narrowed her eyes. Team RWBY was a good team, a great team even! Capable of handling a dangerous criminal like Torchwick was no small feat!

But at the same time, Weiss was pretty extra with her training. So, running this far was 100% within reason, well no, within her reason at least. "Very well…but please refrain from entering the warehouse, there are highly sensitive materials in there and we would like for you to be unharmed"

Weiss smiled nervously "Yes ma'am!"

"Yeah…" Yang lazily puffed "Why am I tired-oh yeah the energy drinks from last night…"

The Team watched as Glynda walked towards the warehouse, Weiss observed the teacher walk in. "We'll have to come again later…"

Ruby sighed, she knew eventually Weiss was going to act like this "Ok…but please next time wait until Yang is at 100%"

The red head turned to Yang, she was wobbling in place and giving off zombie-like vibes…she was drooling "Uhhhh…"

Weiss slowly backed away from her blonde teammate, hoping to not get drool on her outfit. "Y-yeah…yeah, I'll take note"

-Atlas-
-Undisclosed Location-

Sanith walked through hallway C-3, he was headed towards the Labs. His job as an Althesian Huntsman meant more than simply fighting Grimm, it was also being incredibly adept at many forms of study.

The Faunus heard his scroll ring, promptly grabbing it, he answered "Myra?"

"Where are you?"

"I'm at C-3, just around the corner" Sanith turned said corner and saw the Lab door

The Lab doors opened and the people inside could see Sanith, the faunus walked up to the glass window. His eyes focused on the being that was roaming the room.

"What is that?" Sanith spoke

A metal being wandered around the room, it was isolated and curious about its surroundings. "We don't know. It showed up a few miles from here and it hasn't been very responsive."

"Is it a foreign android? Perhaps from Vale?" Sanith turned to Myra

Myra sighed "No, we'd know by now…but it is definitely not from here"

Sanith inspected the room the being was in, there were turrets aiming at being, locked and loaded. "Why do we have so many turrets around it?"

"It's a safety precaution Sanith."

"Has it done anything aside from walking around?"

"No, but Ironwood wants us to find out what it is made of" Myra placed a notebook on a table "Like everything, he also wants us to see what it can do and if we can weaponize it."

Sanith sighed "Myra, every kingdom does that"

"But does that mean that it's right?"

The Alien suddenly crouched down, catching the team's attention. "It's doing something!"

"Everyone, get ready!" The Alien suddenly burst it's back open, orange fluids were spilling everywhere. "What's it doing?"

A smaller alien being suddenly shot out from the larger being's back "Is…Is that another?"

"I don't know." The Alien closed its back once again, it turned to the newly spawned being and started to seemingly talk to it.

Sanith heard garbled noises, coming from both Aliens. "They're talking."

The smaller, drone-like alien started to fly around the room. It was trying to find anything to analyze, it got close to one of the guarding turrets around the room and began to analyze it.

"Make sure it doesn't do anything shady." Sanith spoke, he grabbed his scroll "I gotta call Ironwood."

-Unknown Artic-
-80 km away from any settlements-

A surge of energy concentrated itself on a snowy plain, just near a cliffside overlooking a massive drop.

The ball started shooting sparks, slowly destabilizing and finally exploding. It's reason to show was a Spartan, not one of the usual ones however, something..different

Magnus James Robertson, somewhere in between 20-30 years old. A massive 8'2 ft tall, he was Caucasian with sand skin and a black military mohawk. He laid on the snowy field, haven't yet awoken from the teleportation.

The Goliath's hand twitched, followed by slight breathing, then a sudden jump to his knees. He looked around, breathing heavily. Magnus scanned his surroundings, looking for any sort of reference to guide himself upon. He stood up and looked around, he saw his M6D magnum and grabbed it, checking it's magazine. Fully loaded.

Magnus shook off a little patch of snow from his black and red EVA-armor, with an Unbreakable VISR permutation, it was incredibly modified, his left pauldron was SECURITY-type with an incredibly large Kukri and a belt of shotgun shells attached to his waist. He looked around for the rest of his arsenal. He picked up his SPNKR rocket launcher and set on his back, along with a SAW.

"Where is it…" Magnus wasn't going anywhere without something.

The Goliath saw his objective, half buried into the ground. He walked up to it and grabbed the grip, slowly pulling it into his hands.

A specially modified shotgun, based on all the iterations of the UNSC standard issue shotgun. His own personal one.

He held the pump and appropriately pulled it, letting a quick, yet satisfying slew of noises and mechanisms. It was ready for some action.

"Need to find some sort of bearing…" Magnus mumbled, he looked around for any high point, maybe he could find a settlement or a town maybe. He looked towards the distance and saw a few figures…walking towards him.

"Perhaps them…" The Goliath started walking towards the figures, from what he could tell they had some black hoods with a white vest of sort, mildly puffy due to the cold environment perhaps…

It was an unknown world, Magnus wasn't a stranger to lone operations in unmapped worlds.

But this was different.

This world was heading towards a war.

One that would know, what the Spartans and the power of the UNSC, were capable of.
