Chapter 12: Forge Of Kings

-Site 18: Dragon's Forge-

-Dragon's Head-

Atlas soldiers ran across the Forge, the outside and around the perimeter. They were tasked to secure the site for their science teams to come and do their work.

Multiple ships dropped modular buildings around the area, they'd be required until they can get a legitimate and fully functional operating base.

A Bullhead, Ironwood's personal, descended upon the site. Multiple Atlasian soldiers gathered and stood by.

"I am ever grateful for this General!" A voice emitted from the now opening ship doors, Head of Atlas's Science division. Dr. Myra.

"You are very much welcome." Ironwood said, the two walked down the ship, being greeted by two lines of Atlas troops saluting

"General, Doctor." One of them spoke

Ironwood directed his attention to the solider "Soldier, is the perimeter secure?"

"Yes, we plan on using Modular buildings before we can get more fortified complexes."

"I'll ensure proper fortifications and supplies come as soon as possible, but care to show us the inside of the site?" General Ironwood requested

"Absolutely sir, right this way."

-Site 18 Interior-

The Solider, Ironwood and Myra walked through the site, Myra in sheer awe at the beauty of the place.

"We we've known so far about this site is that it may be some sort of Forge that an ancient civilization might have used."

"Are there any records or anything that can help in knowing how to create weaponry?" Ironwood asked

"O-or any sort of Historical documents?" Myra butted in

"No, not as of now. The Spartans only showed us how to get the security system to not shoot at us." As of right on cue, a Promethean Knight came walking from around a corner

Ironwood took a mildly defensive posture "Soldier what is that?"

"Oh, that's what the Spartans call a Knight, they're part of the Security here"

Myra approached the Knight "What a magnificent construct…its carapace seems to shiver, like an insectoid…"

"Yeah, gives me the creeps."

"What did the Spartans do before their departure?" Ironwood inquired

"They sorta just took some copied info from a terminal and left" The solider rubber his chin "Not sure what they took though."

"It doesn't matter" Myra slowly placed her hand on the Knight "We'll reveal all of the secrets of this place eventually"

Outside of the site, off-duty Atlasian soldiers chatted and socialized in their barracks. Some of them sat outside, enjoying the soft cold of the Dragon's head.

Among them was one named Drakon Trueno, a very rare case of a draconic faunus. He sat on a crate, eating a prepackaged sandwich and listening to his music player. However he wasn't listening to music, but an audio recording.

From the deceased Kieran Furia 'The Judge', one of his old prophetical speeches, he was preaching about the rising hammer that would be the White Fang, who'd would seen strike at the Human menace.

They would be regarded as mythical heroes and saviors of Faunus kind, purging Remnant of the Humans, who'd done not only prey on the Faunus, but taint the beauty of Remnants lands with their claws and how they were-

"Yo, Remnant to Drakon you copy man?" Drakon suddenly heard, he removed his ear plus and looked at the voice's source. It was Ariel Ximena, one of the people who'd joined him on the initial operation in the site.

She was a human woman with bright cyan hair with purple eyes.

"Ariel, greetings." Drakon nodded

"What had you so distracted?" Ariel sat next to her partner.

"Nah just listening to some tunes." Drakon pocketed his player.

"Cool cool…so what'd you think of the place?" Ariel asked

Drakon raised an eyebrow and asked "Excuse me?"

"Yeah like, what's your opinion on finding an ancient ruin that had freaking robot alien things?"

Drakon shrugged "Quite intriguing, I hear it's a Forge of sort where ancients would make weapons to combat Grimm."

"I'm really hoping it's that, I wanna shoot some laser guns." Ariel finger banged the air. "Yeah…so, how's your family doing in Mantle?"

"Alright. Well, as alright as you can be in Mantle." Drakon chuckled "But they manage, plus I always send them a little bit of my Lien to give them an extra push."

"I wish it wasn't like that to be honest, the fucking rich slobs could very much afford to feed mantle twice over yet…" Ariel sighed "Once I get back home I'm going to find ways to help out, not just the Faunus, but everyone in Mantle."

"Truly?" Drakon asked, then gave a smile "We need more people like you"

"That's why I joined the Atlas Military in the first place, to help" Ariel stood up from the crate and walked off, but turned before leaving "Hey I heard there was going to be a chocolate cake soon, so you may want to take it light with the sandwiches"

Drakon snickered "I'll try."

-Beacon Academy-

-Team RWBY Dorm-

"It's a fantastic dayy!" Ruby leaned out of her window, admiring the sun brilliantly shining on the campus. "Kinda hot though…"

"Ruby, have you seen my speed loader for Myrenaster?" Weiss asked "Haven't been able to find it anywhere"

"You checked the bathroom yet Weiss?" Ruby leaned back into her room

"…why would I leave it in the bathroom?" Weiss was dumbfounded at the thought her partner could consider her so dumb as to leave an important piece of equipment in the bath-

"Yo, Weiss is this yours?" Yang walked out of the bathroom with a speed loader in hand. Ruby smugly crossed her arms, while Weiss thanked her teammate for it.

"So we gonna commit trespassing again or what?" Yang asked, Weiss scoffed at the question

"We aren't trespassing, we are merely trying to find out an incongruity of how certain people have advanced weaponry that surpasses Atlas and The SDC" Weiss explained to her teammates, Blake slowly leaned down from her bunk and showed Weiss her scroll, which had the definition of trespassing.

"We're trespassing Weiss." Blake monotonously said.

"Do you suggest a way to get inside?" Weiss asked her teammates.

"…No." Yang answered her friend "But I mean it's not like they would have alien guns in there, they wouldn't just have highly important things just laying around right?"

"…perhap-"

"it was rhetorical Weiss." Yang walked over to the door "Well I'm headed out, anyone wanna come with?"

"No, it's hot out there" Ruby waddled up to her bunk

Blake flipped a page from her book "Ditto."

Yang looked at Weiss, who seemed like she wanted to come "You wanna come with Weiss?"

"Absolutely not" Weiss grabbed her notebook and sat on the table "I'd rather study here than burn alive out there."

"Oh come it's not even that ho- fine, guess I'll go have fun alone" Yang closed the door and made her way outside, it was a sunny day and she was gonna enjoy it.

Yang violently shook a vending machine, she wanted some Grimm Gummies, she was gonna get them regardless if she had no money!

"You okay there Yang?". She heard, it was Damian. She snapped to him with a smile

"U-um. Yeah, just trying to do a trick so I can get free stuff from here" Yang twirled her hair

Damian walked to the vending machine and place it some Lien "What was it you wanted?"

Yang raised her eyebrow, was he going to pay for them? If so, that'd be a kind gesture "Uh, the Grimm Gummies."

Damian looked at the vending machine, looking for Grimm Gummies "Huh, haven't tried those" The Spartan pressed a button and the machine dropped a packet of Grimm Gummies "Here."

"Oh, thank you Damian!" Yang happily accepted the snack

The vending machine dropped another, and this time Damian kept it "Were you doing a trick or were you just poor?"

"I was just poor" Yang ate some Gummies "I've been struggling a bit with my allowance recently."

"You wanna earn 150 Lien?" Damian offered

Yang almost choked on the candy "150? For what?"

"Well, not just 150, more so if you help more. Come on I'll show you" Damian motioned Yang to join him, Yang nodded and joined the Spartan

-Warehouse-

Damian and Yang made their way into the warehouse. Yang could see the Spartans Airship, it was a ways different than that of a Bullhead…

"Alright, so." Damian clapped his hands together "You see those little patches of dust and trash around here?"

Yang nodded "Yeah, you want me to clean them up?"

"For each patch you clean up, I'll give you 150 Lien."

Yang's eyes wide, there were tons a patches of dust and trash around. "Yeah, I could do that. You guys got a broom?"

Damian gave Yang a broom and smiled "Yes ma'am"

Yang happily accepted the broom, she stared around the warehouse and whistled "You guys got a ton of stuff here."

Damian sat down, taking off his helmet, and started inspecting a Boltshot "Yep, we've been busy with stuff, that's sorta why I ask if you could clean up. We really didn't have time to clean ourselves."

"and you were just lazy?" Yang smugged

"Oh yes, that too." Damian chuckled, he pulled the boltshot's top plate and the gun split apart, it's pieces floating next to it.

Yang turned just in time to see the little spectacle "Woah! That's wicked!"

"Yeah it is." Damian let the plate go, putting the weapon back together again "Hey, so Ruby's your sister right?"

"Yep, she's two years younger than me actually"

Damian placed his hand on his chin, thinking about how they looked "But, how do you two look nothing alike?"

"Well…we actually born from different mothers. My mom left us when I was born, and Ruby's mom unfortunately died when as a huntress" Yang frowned

"Ah hell, I'm sorry for bringing that up-"

"No no, it's fine. My dad, Ruby and I managed to…well, sorta move on ya know?" Yang continued cleaning, she had a light smile on her face "It's made us even closer as a family"

Damian smiled "I'm glad, you're a good kid Yang, I hope you know that"

"You got a family Damian?" Yang asked

Damian immediately froze. He did have a family, a Mother, A Father and a…deceased brother, Michael Corral. "Yeah, mom and dad…and had a brother too."

"Had?"

"Yeah, he died…10 years ago actually." Damian's face faded into a frown "He gave his life for me..."

"Listen! You need get on the evac shuttles! Take mom and dad with you, they'll know what to do!"

"Gave his life save the all of the family actually" Damian set down the boltshot "We all ended up making it."

"I'll make it! Don't worry about me!"

Damian turned to Yang "It's sort of why i joined the UNSC, the Spartans..."

"If i don't...at least you'll be okay. That's all that matters to me"

Yang walked to the Spartan and gave him a light hug "I'm sorry."

Damian softly returned the hug to Yang "Thanks…now get back to work, don't need you being all bummed out about it now do I?"

"Hah, nope!" Yang smiled and returned to her duty

"Of course, the operation was buttery smooth" The Spartans, along with Ozpin and Glynda, walked into the warehouse. They were discussing the operation that the Spartans had been to

"This could prove useful to ensuring your return home, granted if there is one." Ozpin said

"I've got a hunch that there will be." Xavier spoke, he turned to the Warehouse and saw part of it was cleaner than usual. "Huh, looks cleaner than normal."

Hannah also inspected the floors "Yeah, did Damian clean?"

"You're welcome!" Yang shouted, they saw her near their Warthog

" Long? Who let you in?" Glynda inquired

"Oh! Uh, Damian-"

"It's alright Glynda, I offered her some Lien to clean up a bit" Damian interjected, Glynda nodded and continued

"Well, the cleaning will have to resume later, as we have sensitive things to discuss with the Spartans"

Yang nodded "Sure thing!"

Damian guided Yang towards the warehouse exit "So those were 6 little patches of dust right?"

"Yep, so about…900 Lien"

Damian pulled some chips from nowhere and held them to Yang "Thanks Yang, if you ever want more just call me okay?"

Yang smiled and nodded "You betcha!"

Damian saluted her away and closed the door behind him. Yang stood outside, she heard Damian just far enough away from the door, just for her to start giggling like a maniac. "Oh he's so cutee!"

"So, what's up?" Damian walked to their holotable.

Ozpin started "Seen your recent operation in Mistral, I've noticed some of the symbols that you deem as forerunner in many time of Remnant's history."

The headmaster projected a hologram of the Old King of Vale. "This was the King of Vale, back in old times. Now, look at the symbol he sports on his pauldron."

The Hologram zoomed into the King's said pauldron, it had a symbol of sort, but given it's look it was most likely forerunner.

"Not just Vale, but the rest of the Kingdom's leaders also sport symbols of this nature."

The Holotable projected for other pauldrons, each having each kingdom's respective color and unique symbol "Unless every kingdom shared a singular site, this may not be the only area of interest"

"Did any kingdoms revere or know of a floating lightbulb like construct?" Xavier asked

Ozpin and Glynda blinked, confused "Excuse me?"

"What he means is this." Jirou projected an Installation Monitor on the holotable "This is one of many, but these are usually found in Forerunner Installations. They are like the sentinels, though they are much more independent than your average Sentinel."

"I may know of some old texts describing something like this…but I will have to check" Glynda spoke "What else can these Monitors do?"

"They're glorified security guards." Magnus uttered

"Pardon?"

Magnus continued "Well, they are the ones who conduct maintenance over installations. They can range from a small tower to an entire Ring."

"Ring?"

"Oh, right we haven't told you about those." Magnus rubbed his chin "Those truly represent the scale of the Forerunners."

"Colossal ring worlds, capable of sustaining life, flora, faunus. You could practically live in one." Hannah explained "I mean if you ignore the cosmic super weapon potion of them then you could live there soundly."

"Super weapon?" Ozpin asked

"Complete elimination of life on a cosmic scale, nothing Atlas nor the entirety of Remnant could be able to pull would put a dent on it…" Damian said, he projected a Halo Ring on the table "Maybe a Halcyon-class cruiser detonation can destroy a portion of it but all in all. Their magnitude is insurmountable."

"It's what the UNSC's largest Star-ship. The Infinity, was made for, finding the Halo Rings and decommission them for study." Xavier projected the Infinity on the table "That's where most of the Spartan-IV's are located."

"This is incredibly astounding." Ozpin inspected the various projections "But, the priority is finding a way to return you home"

"Yeah, if we get back home, we'll come back with the Infinity to help out with the Grimm problem."

-Site 18: Dragon's Forge-

-Dragon's head-

Drakon looked over the Forge, he was counting the Atlas soldiers all guarding the area. Atlas wasn't skimpping with the security of the place, but he had an idea.

"Drakon?" Adam Taurus spoke through a communicator Drakon had, it was separate from Atlas's channels.

"I'm here." Drakon spoke "Atlas is fortifying the area."

"This plan of yours, how is it going to work?"

"Simple, slowly infiltrate the ranks in the area and once we have enough people, we takeover."

"I'll inform the others."

"Does Sienna know?" Drakon asked, he took out a notebook and started writing things down.

"She doesn't need to."

A/N:

IDK what to put here, but I like putting it.

So…

Here's a fun fact: Otters hold each other's hands when sleeping so they don't drift apart.
