Stand
Remus/Arthur – Friends
"We need to put our foot down!" Molly ranted as she waved her wooden spoon in the air, "They have to understand that we won't take this lying down!"
Arthur gave a tired sigh as he turned from his conversation with Remus to his wife, "And what is it that we won't stand for dear?"
"Why all of this foolishness about pranks!" Molly cried out in anger, "If it was me I'd be studying hard! I wouldn't waist time like the twins are. I thought that we raised them better!"
"You both have? Now that's a joke," Remus muttered under his breath so only Arthur could hear him, "The only ones she's 'raised correctly' are Ginny, Ron and Percy."
Arthur gave his friend a tired smile as the ranting of his wife seemed to fade into the background, "Thank you my friend."
"Not a problem, personally I think the twins will go far with the brains they have," Remus said as he placed a comforting hand on Arthur's shoulder, "It's not your fault that Molly can't see how wonderful her other children are."
"Arthur, Arthur, are you listening to me?" Molly demanded as she suddenly smacked her wooden spoon down on the table, "Are you?"
That was the last straw for Remus, standing up he allowed his eyes to flash yellow, "You know what? You should shut up for once and learn how to listen to your children and husband. You'd learn a lot."
"Well I never," Molly cried out in anger, "I have you know I do!"
"Then tell me about the twins, Charlie and Bill. What about them?" Remus replied, "Do you know anything about them since they left home? Or how about how smart the twins really are?"
Molly saw red, "Remus Lupin, in all my-"
"No Molly," came the soft but strong voice of Arthur.
"Arthur?" Molly asked with wide eyes, "Wha-"
"Things are going to change around here," Arthur said sternly, "Now if you'll excuse me I was having a conversation with Remus here."
With a shocked look on her face Molly looked between the two men before turning and walking out of the kitchen.
"Thank you Remus," Arthur said as he sat down tiredly, "Thank you for giving me the strength to get the ball rolling."
"Don't worry," Remus said kindly, "I'll stand by you even when things get rough."
