Hermione was still laughing shamelessly when he set her down on the couch.

"What is so funny?" He asked her, chuckling to see her so beside herself. Yes, this was definitely the most drunk he'd ever seen her. Including the engagement party, including the time after the funerals, including that disastrous night in Paris on their honeymoon.

Hermione flapped her hand vaguely towards the kitchen and opened her mouth to answer him, but all that came out was more laughter. Ron squatted down in front of her as she tried to form words while clutching her side.

"That…that man caught….He caught us kissing!" She finished, and then all but collapsed into the couch as if it were the funniest thing in the world. Ron laughed to, but only at her.

"You are so going to hate yourself in the morning." He murmured, scraping her hair back from her eyes. She caught his hand and held it to her heart, trying, apparently, to get him to understand the hilarity of the situation.

"Caught…us! As if…if we were a…at Hogwarts!" She gasped, bouncing a little. Ron frowned.

"Hermione we never kissed at Hogwarts." He told her, which seemed to quiet her down shockingly quickly. She frowned at him now, accusingly, and her body swayed in a circle as she studied him.

"Yes, but we should have been. Kissing. At Hogwarts." She punctuated each word with a harmless poke at his chest.

Ron sighed and grasped her hands. "You're right. That's my fault. Will you forgive me?"

She looked at him for a second before a slow, sloppy smile spread across her face. Her head lolled to one side.

"Yes. But only…merely…only because you're so forgivibable." She told him. "And it was my fault, too! And…And you know a particulular auror that will help me when I'm in trouble with the law!"

Ron leaned her back into the couch. Her eyelids were drooping as she spoke and her speech was trailing off. She was overcome by a yawn and settled into Ron's arms. His lips brushed her cheek.

"I love you, merely drunk or not." He told her, but she was already asleep. He kicked off his shoes and flicked his wand, starting the fire and dimming the lights, before drifting off after her.
