Chapter 16

Fast lane

I woke up at around 8:30. I got up and got some of my things that I need for a bath. I got my towel and went to the restroom. I turned on the shower and got in. I felt the warm water hitting my fore head and through my fur. I got my shampoo and rubbed it against my scalp, I smelled the lemon as I scrubbed more. I then washed my body fur with the body wash. After I was done I got out and dryed myself. I went to my room to grab my D12 hat. I went to go get my phone but I saw a text message. It was from Amy.

Amy: sorry about last night Marshall

Marshall: it ok but why

Amy: well I'm used to sonic always trying to block my advances so I try to flirt with you.

Marshall: K but I only like you as a friend Amy

Amy: :( ok

Marshall: sorry if I made you sad but I'll make it up to you

Amy: how

Marshall: why don't we hang out later

Amy: like a date?

Marshall: no like a friend hangout

Amy: K see you later!

I looked at the clock and it was 9:10. I got up from my bed and went to the hanger. When I went in I saw tails talking to 2 birds. I walked to them and I saw a green hawk with blue eyes, and a female purple swallow with a bandana on top, a white tube top, and was holding a green board. "who is this guy, tails?" questioned the hawk. "he is my roommate Marshall. Marshall this is Jet and Wave." Said tails. "nice to meet you." I said. "does he ride extreme gear?" questioned wave. I nodded no then they laughed, except for tails. "why are they laughing?" "they are laughing because your shoes are Extreme Gear. Don't believe me click them together." Said tails. I clicked the shoes together and a board appeared under them. The board had a brown color and was connected to my shoes. It then hovered off the ground as I tried to stay balanced. "you know what ill race you." Said jet. I couldn't refuse a challenge of any sort, and besides a race might help me figure this board out. I followed him to a drop-off ramp on the other side of tails house. Its weird how I didn't see this before. I stood on one end while jet stood on the other. "first one to radical highway and back wins." Said jet. I crouched and waited for the starting shot.

(this part would be good if you went on youtube and looked up "fast lane" by bad meets evil, it would match the tone of this segment)

Me and jet flew off the ramp and dropped down into a half pipe. I was wobbling back and forth but I managed to stay on and balanced. As I lunged forward I saw jet on the opposite side of me. He stuck his tongue out at me then speed off. I stepped up the pace and before I knew it we were at a abandoned freeway. I jumped over a barrel and a few cinder blocks. Me and jet collided nearly knocking me off my board. Jet then shoved me and I nearly lost my balance. I wont take that from him. I put up a shock barrier on my side so that when he hits it again he would get a mild shock. He tried to kick me this time but instead he get healthy dose of shock therapy. He didn't fall though. He backed off to the right and I just kept going forward. I hit a barrel and nearly fell of my board, I hung on to the side, but I felt the heat from the thrusters hitting my hand, it was way to hot for me. I quickly got up and jet was laughing again at me. He then looked forward and his eyes went wide, then he dropped down. I looked forward and saw a still active bridge with cars crossing it. If I dropped now it will hit me in the head and kill me. I quickly jumped up and ran across the bridge on my own feet. I nearly got hit by a semi, a van, and a G.U.N car. I hopped over the railing and landed on my board . I looked at jet and his face was stunned. I laughed a bit then looked ahead. We were already at the bridge. I jumped up and grinded on the rails with my shoes till the top. I was on the top then I saw jet was a quarter of the way back. I then jumped down on the rail, and speed down fast. AND I MEAN FAST, like fast as a bullet. I felt heat getting around me and I think I was burning up. When I hit the bottom of the rail I launched forward. I launched past jet and under the bridge where I almost got hit. But then my board stopped working. It fell on the concrete with me still on it. It hurt my foot like hell but I still got up. I kicked my board till it got up again. I was already neck and neck with jet. We were almost there then jet looked at me and stuck his tongue at me again. But I looked forward then I noticed something. Jet wasn't looking at the sign that was going to hit him, if he didn't look forward soon he would get hit and die. I kicked him out of the way of the sign and he had a shocked look on his face. He opened his mouth to speak but before he did it was too late.

(Close song now)

I was at the hanger first, a second before jet. I got off my board then tails said "THAT WAS AMAZING MARSHALL! HOW DID YOU DO THAT?" "Action movies I guess." I replied. Jet had his face in a frown and wave was holding his board. "That was a good race jet. You have to admit it." I said to him. "Yeah it was." He mumbled. "you won't win next time Marshall." Said wave. "Marshall." Called jet. I walked to him and he whispered to me. "Thanks for saving my life." With a smile on my face I just nodded back. "Let's go babe." Said jet as they left. Nothing for me to do now but decide when me and Amy should hang out.
