World record for worst timing.

New Year's Eve 11:30 pm

We were all here, at the house in the back yard. And everyone was here, even Charmy, Vector, and Espio, who couldn't come on Christmas because they got help up on a case. The pool cover was on so no one will push anyone inside it. It was cold outside, but thankfully me and Tails put up heaters outside so no one will be freezing. Music was playing and a couple of people were dancing.

Everyone was having a good time, I'm happy that I can spend new year's with such good friends. We had a clock on the balcony to tell us when new year's was here.

I was leaning on the wall, Amy came up to me and said "hey Marshall."

"Hey Amy."

"2 party's within the span of 1 week." She giggled.

"yup, well I enjoy spending time with you guys."

"um Marshall?" she asked

"yes?"

"would you like to dance?"

My blood went cold in nervousness. I never danced with a girl, well technically I did at those school dance lessons they give during P.E, but this wasn't for class. I thought a moment and said,

"sure Amy."

Me and Amy went to were the other people were dancing. There was sonic and sally, tails and Cosmo, and knuckles and rouge.

The music played, then Amy put her hands on my shoulders and not knowing what to do I put my hands on her shoulders. She giggled and said "here let me show you how you do it."

She then got my hands and slowly put them on her hips.

I blushed then she giggled.

"now do you got it?" she said to me.

"y-y-yeah."

We danced for a few more seconds then she said

"I'm sorry I didn't get you anything for Christmas."

"its ok."

"well I'm going to make it up to you." She said as she leaned in.

"how?" I said blushing.

"like this." She then closed her eyes and leaned in closer.

Then I felt a sudden pain in my left shoulder.

"Ow!" I exclaimed. I quickly withdrew from the dance.

"whats wrong?!" she said.

I put my hand on my shoulder and I looked at it and I saw blood. The last thing I remember is falling on the floor.

Amy's POV

He fell right on the floor in front of me. With his shoulder bleeding.

"Marshall!?" I yelled. Everyone else stopped dancing and went to see what happened.

Tails went over to where he was and yelled "Somone call 911, Marshall has been shot!"

Sonic quickly got out his phone and called them.

"Yes, my friend has been shot by a stray bullet! He is unconscious."

"Quick put pressure on the wound!" Yelled Espio.

I can't believe it. I went to kiss him and now this happens. I got on my knees next to him and said "come on Marshall, please pull through." I held his hair, crying. Thank god cream wasn't here. She wouldn't handle seeing her father figure like this.

The ambulance finally came and they quickly brought out the stretcher.

"Quick get him on the gurney!" One of the paramedics said. They quickly lifted him on it and took him in the ambulance. I was able to hitch a ride with them in the ambulance to the hospital. I sat next to him and held his right hand.

The paramedics quickly put him on the I.V, and started to look at the wound. I cried into his hand hoping he would live.

12:43 am New Year's Day.

Me, Tails, Sonic, Cosmo, Knuckles, Rouge, Silver, Blaze, and Shadow waited in the room outside the room they were keeping him. I cried into Sonic's shoulder. I really hope he pulls through.

The Doctor, a white hedgehog, came out of the room. He looked at us and said, "your friend is going to be ok."

We all cheered and hugged each other the second we heard that, even shadow.

"can we go see him?" I asked.

"He just woke up, but he needs his rest." Said the doctor.

"please can I just see him?" I pleaded with the doctor.

"I guess you can but only for a little bit, he needs his sleep." He said as he let me in.

Marshall's POV

I laid in bed with the I.V and blood bag attached to me. The heart rate monitor was also hooked up to me. The doctor said that I was shot in the shoulder, but the bullet didn't hit any organs, it just tore some muscle. He also said that I would be out in a week or so.

I looked at the doctor and he said "Marshall, you have a visitor." I looked behind him and I saw it was Amy.

"MARSHALLl YOUR OKAY!" she screamed as she ran towards me.

"Yes I'm fine, the bullet didn't hit anything in me." I said to her. She just put her arms around me and cried a few tears of joy. I looked out at the window to see my friends there, smiling and cheering to hear that I was ok.

"Marshall I'm so glad you are ok." Amy said as she withdrew from the hug.

"I'll live, the doc said ill be out in a week." I said to her.

She just smiled at me then she looked at my shoulder.

"Is that a tattoo?" she asked

FRACK! Now she saw it, darn these hospital gowns.

"yeah about that." I said chuckling.

"a few months ago the guys made me do an initiation, saying that if I got a tattoo I would be a part of the group." I explained to her.

"Well I like it. Ace of spades, good choice." She said laughing.

I looked at her green eyes, they just sparkled back at me.

"you know I never gave you your Christmas gift." She said with a seductive smile.

My heart started beating, I can tell because the machine went crazy. I blushed and she started giggling.

She leaned in and said "you ready for it?"

"yeah" I said under my breath.

She then leaned in and I closed my eyes and she did the same. The machine went faster and I blushed.

I felt her warm lips press against mine, I then felt that she put her hand on my check holding it there even longer.

Her lips tasted like strawberry mixed with banana. I didn't want it to end.

She then pulled away and I opened my eyes.

She said "there, and Marshall, Happy New Year's." she said with a smile.

I just laid there with a smile on my face and blushing. I looked at the window and I saw all the guys give me a thumbs up, even shadow.

Wow… my first kiss. This was the best day of my life.
