Prologue
San Francisco. One year earlier.
Kamala Khan and her dad were at San Francisco for the Avengers Day celebration event. After getting all the comic books to get to the VIP balcony, there was a large crowd in the stadium and Kamala saw Steve Rogers on the stage with a man in a lab uniform. He told everyone about their new Helicarrier, the Chimera, powered by a Terrigen energy crystal.
"Now the man himself will tell you all about it." Steve said. "Dr. George Tarleton, the CEO of AIM."
"Many weeks ago, I found a crystal in the San Francisco bay. On further testing it was clear that-"
Suddenly, loud music blared as a red and gold blur flew onto the stage. It was Iron Man.
"Hello, San Francisco!" Iron Man said. "The city of fine food, good people, and no parking. I'm working on the no parking rule."
Suddenly, explosions erupted on the Golden Gate Bridge. "This doesn't look good, we should go." Kamala's dad said before they both went away and drove off in their car. Iron Man flew off with Thor toward the bridge as the rest of the Avengers geared up. Something bad was going down and they had to stop it. Thor flew down on the bridge and did a super-jump as he slammed Mjolnir, zapping mercenaries out cold before he went to work, whacking mercs all over the place with his hammer and zapping them with lightning bolts.
"Whoa, whoa, who said you could have all the fun?" Iron Man asked as he swooped in. Mercs on jetpacks tried to escape but Iron Man chased them, blasting them out of the sky with his repulsor rays. Then mercs with shields came in but he shot them down with his Unibeam. Soon enough, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Hawkeye, Vision, War Machine, and Falcon joined the fray, taking down the mercs with magic bolts, superspeed, exploding arrows, energy beams, and missiles. On the command bridge of the Chimera, Cap was bashing mercs with his shield when Dr. Tarleton called him.
"Captain, we have a problem." Tarleton said.
"I know, they're trying to take over this Helicarrier." Cap replied as he finished off the mercs by slamming his shield into the ground, creating a shockwave that pushed them down.
"Not that, the Terrigen crystal's going unstable. This entire vessel could explode at any moment." Tarleton said. Suddenly, an explosion blew up the Chimera and green mist was going to descend on San Francisco, nearly blowing Iron Man into the ocean had he not put up a forcefield. Cap and Tarleton got out just in time on a Quinjet.
"Okay, I don't know what the hell this green mist thing is but we gotta contain it, fast!" War Machine said.
"Alright, I'm on it." Iron Man said. "Move it, Stark, move!"
He zoomed over to the city as fast as he could and pulled out a special canister. There was a whirring noise and half of the green gas was sucked into the canister before Iron Man quickly sealed it shut and zoomed off but unknown to him, the other half of the green gas still managed to descend on a good portion of people. And one of them was Kamala.
