Hey guys! I'm so glad y'all loved Biltmore and proposal! I saw some real surprised folks that he proposed!
Let's get into some more fun while they're at Biltmore. They've gotta call their parents... *gulp*
Chapter 21 - Call
BPOV
I'm getting married...
It keeps going in a loop through my head that I'm actually getting married.
I literally could not sleep last night when we got back to our room.
And not just because Edward and I spent part of it 'celebrating' in bed, but my brain was just going and going and going.
I went into the living room area of our suite and worked on the song that had been running through my head for a while now, and finally could see some parts of it melding together.
I finally fell asleep on the couch with my guitar lying across me. I was only woken up when I was being picked up and moved.
I jerked slightly, not knowing what was happening and having that split second of panic rush though me.
"Shhh, it's just me. You know, I'm gonna start getting a complex if I keep waking up in the middle of the night and you're not in the bed next to me. I'm gonna have to start assuming I snore, now." He chuckles as he lays me back in the bed where I can snuggle into the blankets.
"Mmmmm, nope, no snoring. Just my brain not shutting off. Can't help it sometimes." I mutter sleepily as I feel him get back in the bed with me.
"I know. I get that way sometimes, too. Go back to sleep." He whispers, wrapping his arms around me and we both drift off to sleep.

"We should probably tell our parents before too long. I don't think we want someone to end up actually going to the tabloids and it gets back to them…" Edward says to me over breakfast the next morning in our room, as he eyes the ring on my hand.
I can't help but admire it, myself. It's really stunning to look at.
So pretty.
I'm turning into such a girl…
Wait, I am…
"Yeah. We should facetime them in a little while and tell them. Hey, were you serious about wanting to get married here?" I ask after having been thinking about it most of the morning.
"Absolutely. If it's what you want to do, then that's what we'll do. We both love this place, next to home. So why not? And honestly? Who's going to suspect you're gonna get married here? If they can keep it hush-hush around here, we shouldn't have any peeping paps hounding us during our wedding." He says, and he does have a good point.
Ever since James' trial and the lead-up to this new Disney movie coming out in the next year, there's been more than a few paps following me, and even Edward, around, here and there. So, yeah, I think it'll be best to do it here.
"Maybe we can talk to someone while we're here to get information and get the ball rolling. How many people are we inviting?" He asked as he took our tray and set it outside our door, then came back to sit next to me.
"Well… Hmmmm… Family and close friends? I don't want a whole lot of people, but we're both gonna want our families there. You've got some of your friends you're gonna want to invite, I'm gonna want Rose, Emmett and Jasper to come. So… what, maybe fifty, at most?" I ask him, trying to tally up how many people are in our families and the handful of people I know I'm gonna want there, no matter what.
He looks like he's going through that same list in his own head. "Yeah, that sounds like a good number. I don't want a whole lot of people there, either, but we know we have, at least, fifteen we know we have to have there. Also, the less people know, the less likely someone will find out in the press. I'd like to keep them off us for as long as we can."
I'm all for that. That's the last thing I want on our wedding day.
"I think we can probably get it down, well below fifty, then. You're right; the less people know, the better odds we'll have at keeping it low-key. Now… here's the real question…" I pause, giving him a sweet look.
"Oh geez, here we go." He laughed, but gestured for me to go on.
"Can I be super girly and act like a princess for the day of our wedding?" I asked, clasping my hands under my chin. "I mean, we are getting married at a 'castle'." I give him my sweetest pout.
Edward just bursts out laughing and gathers me in his arms and squeezes.
"You already are my beautiful princess, but, you absolutely can act like a girly princess, if you want. Baby, this is your day. I want you to be happy with what we're doing and how things are setup, what your dress is gonna look like, flowers, and whatnot. If you want a tiara with your veil, so be it. I'm not gonna fault you for something that's gonna make you happy on our special day." He says into my hair while I stay tucked into his protective arms.
I pull back slightly and look up at him. "I want you to be happy, too, Edward. This is our day. I just… In the past few years, I completely gave up on the thought of ever getting married. I didn't think I'd ever be ready or that I'd be able to find someone that can deal with all of my shit. And then, in the last twelve hours, I've realized I'm actually really getting married. Now, I'm feeling like a little girl again, planning my dream wedding at a castle to my prince charming." I tell him, feeling that giddiness seeping into my veins.
He laughs lightly and kisses me. "I think I remember those days when you were little and making those plans, along with Alice. You two were forever in your fort, drawing pictures and dreaming up every single detail y'all could think of."
"You know damn good and well that you were part of those plans, when I was younger. I think I knew, even then, that I wanted to marry you." I told him as I snuggle back into my spot.
"I know. We've always had this bond since I can remember. It's lasted this long, so I can't imagine it's gonna go away any time soon. I think we're good for at least… fifty years? Maybe?" He teased, squeezing my side.
I reached up and smacked him in the arm. "It better be forever, Edward!"
He just laughed at me as he caught my arm, then just looked me in the eye.
"Absolutely, forever."
/-/
"So… who do we call first?" Edward asked as we got the IPad setup, because we're gonna have to tell… probably everyone from my mom and Phil, Edward's parents and sister, Rose, Emmett and Jasper.
"Hmmm… Probably your mom. Then my mom. If we don't tell them first, then there's gonna be hell to pay, and you know it. Then we definitely need to call Rosalie so that she can be on top of things if someone does find out." He says as he sits down next to me on the sofa.
I nodded and dialed up my mom and waited for her to pop up on the screen.
"Bella?" I heard my mom's voice a second before I saw her face on screen.
"Hey mama!" I greet her, waving to her.
"Oh, baby! I'm so glad you called! Hi Edward! How are you two enjoying your vacation? I heard it was supposed to snow up there." And she's off.
I smile indulgently at her. "It's great mama. It's been snowing since last night, and it's absolutely beautiful. Look behind us!" I tell her and pick up the IPad to show her out the window behind us.
There's a thick layer of snow outside that's probably four, maybe five inches deep. And it's all powder. There was no freezing rain or anything falling ahead of it, and it's just gorgeous. The mountains being covered in it, and the rise and fall of each mountain, makes you stop for a minute and just appreciate the beauty.
"Oh wow! Look at that! Oh how romantic that looks!" Mom gushed as she looked out over the view we had from our room.
I moved back over to the sofa, where Edward was still sitting.
"It really is. I'm so happy up here, right now." I tell her, surreptitiously pulling my left hand up to settle on my cheek.
"Oh I can tell, baby gir- Isabella… What is that on your hand?!" Her voice rises to a shrill tone at the end as her eyes get wide as humanly possible.
"Weeeeelllllllll…" I dragged out, just to mess with her. But then I smiled at her through the screen. "Edward proposed to me last night, in the snow, up in front of the house."
I had to slap my hands over my ears at the insane volume that woman could squeal at.
"Aaaaahhhhhhh! Oh my god! OH MY GOD! You're getting married! Aaaaahhhhh!" Yeah, I still had my hands over my ears to try to save my eardrums.
"Just think, we've still gotta tell MY mom…" Edward whispered to me as my mom went on and on about how excited she is that we're getting married.
Edward's mom was just as bad as my mom was, and I'm pretty sure as soon as we got off the call with her, she was calling my mom to scream into the phone to each other.
That, at least, saves my ears for the moment.
"I don't know if I can handle any more screaming right now." Edward said as he rubbed his hands over his face.
We both have slight headaches setting in from talking to our moms.
"I don't think Rose will be quite as bad as those two. Besides, she knew it was gonna happen, eventually. And I told her when the time came, that I'd say 'yes'. It was just a matter of time, really."
I walked out to the terrace that was attached to our room, just in case Rose did end up having her own moment of craziness.
Dialing her up, I wait for her to answer.
I know she's gotta be up by now, but she's not answering her phone.
So I text her to give me a call, but I try facetiming her one more time.
"Yeah… what?" I hear her groggily answer and see her face that seems to be shoved into a pillow that she'd much rather be going back to sleep in.
"Wow, Rose. Are you sick? You never sleep in this late. And… wait, where are you? That's definitely not you bedroom, and definitely not Emmett's… ROSALIE!" I have to yell at her to get her attention because apparently, she fell back to sleep.
"TASSELS!" She screams as she jolts upright, and then falls off of the bed. "Ooowwwwww…"
I slap my hand over my mouth to stop from laughing my ass off so hard, but it takes just about everything in me to do so.
"Dude, what in the sweet Jesus fucking Christ is going on? What the fuck do tassels have to do with anything? Wait… I don't know if I really wanna know that…" I say, worried for what I may hear.
"Fuck you, Bells. Owww, that shit hurt…" She complains as I see her sit up and rub her head, then tries to pat down the tangled hair that's all over the place.
"You ok over there, honey?" I ask her, hoping she didn't just give herself a concussion.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just smacked my head into the side of the table." She grumbles, but straightens up and settles against the side of the bed. "So, what's up?"
"That can wait for a minute. Where are you?" I ask her, because I'm pretty sure she would've told me if she was going somewhere. She always has.
"Ummm… We're in Vegas…" She hesitantly mumbles, and this can only mean one thing.
"ROSALIE!" I yell at her, realizing what she's done.
"What?! Stop yelling at me! My head's killing me." She complained, but I'm so not letting this go.
"ROSALIE LILLIAN HALE! YOU BETTER NOT HAVE GOTTEN MARRIED, WITHOUT ME!" I screamed at her, garnering Edward's worry as he rushed out of the terrace doors when he heard me yelling.
"Jesus, Bella… Turn it down a notch." She's still dodging me.
"ROSALIE!" I yell again, because she's gonna fucking answer me.
"Ok, ok, ok. Christ, let me wake up before you start the inquisition." She grumbled as she crawled over to, what looks like, a sofa and climbs on it.
Edward has sat down beside me and is rubbing my shoulder at this point.
"You can't be that hungover if you're using the word 'inquisition', Rose. Spill it!"
"Emmett? EMMETT! Get up. Bella's on the phone." She called over to Em, who I'm assuming is still in bed.
I hear Emmett groan and eventually gets out of the bed and makes his way over to where Rose is.
"Alright, you've stalled enough. Tell me what the fuck happened and why you didn't tell me!" I demand, feeling slightly upset.
"So… We kind of made a split second decision and drove to Vegas yesterday. We wanted to do some gambling… We got to thinking about it and… we just didn't want to make a big deal out of it… So we… went to a wedding chapel last night…" She trails off as I see Emmett put his arm around her.
"Rose…" I whisper, because, really, I don't know what else to say right now.
I'm hurt because she didn't even tell me they were gonna do this. I'm not so much upset because she did it without me, but that is up there. I'm more upset because, as her best friend, she didn't think I'd want to know she was heading off to get married?
"I'm sorry, Bells. We really didn't want all that much fuss over our wedding. We just wanted to be married. This was the easiest way to do that." Emmett chimed in.
"Please don't be upset, Bella." Rose whispered in a very apologetic tone. "We didn't tell anyone else, either. None of our family, not even Jasper, knew what we were doing. You know how leery I've been about getting married…" She trailed off.
I sighed and put my hand over my face. I know, very well, Rose's stance on getting married. And I guess the stress of putting together a wedding would've probably sent her over the edge and she'd have become a runaway bride.
"WAIT! WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!" I hear Rose screech, and thank God I decided to come outside for all of this, because right now, my brain just flat out hurts.
Wait… Oh fuck…
I look back up, pulling my hand away from my face… my left hand…
"Uhh, well that's why I was calling… Edward proposed last night…" I told her, which was quickly followed up by more squealing.
"Eeeeeeeekk! Oh my God! Bella! You buried the lead!" Rose shouted over the call.
"The fuck? How did I bury the lead? You're the one that got married, in secret, in VEGAS! I think that was a little more pressing at the moment, Rose!" I retort, because, really? She's not putting this on me.
She shook her head and sighed. "I'm sorry, but… Oh my God! I can't believe you guys are finally engaged! When are you gonna do it? Where? I need to get things figured out for you, and make sure no one is hounding you guys while this is going on." And she's off.
"Rosalie, slow it down! We're gonna try to do it this spring. And I think we're gonna do it here. It's the perfect location, and so incredibly romantic." I tell her, having my mind wander off to what it'll look like…
"Hang on, where's here? Are you talking about Charleston? Woah, did it SNOW in Charleston?" She asks, now noticing the snow around me.
I just shake my head at her. "Nope. No, we're not in Charleston, right now. We're in Asheville, North Carolina. We're at Biltmore Estate. In the mountains. It's STUNNING here. Look." I turn the screen so she can see the view we have from our room, the sun bright and sparkling off the snow and the mountains. "We wanna get married here when the flowers are blooming in the spring. The gardens here are absolutely spectacular, then. We're so excited about it." I say, looking over to where Edward is, beside me.
"Wow! Now I'm kind of regretting doing the Vegas thing. That view is incredible." She says, in awe, but then I hear Emmett object next to her.
"Hey!"
"Not that I regret marrying you, ya big oaf. But can you imagine getting married somewhere like that? Oh I would've done it in the snow. We never get to see snow, in L.A. That would be so dreamy." Rose sighs, and I can see the wheels in her head turning.
"That was something I wondered about, whether we would do it when it was in the spring, or winter. But, we can't predict when it would snow. That would be a whole spur of the moment thing, where we'd have to have everyone on standby, and ain't nobody got time for that. So, I think spring will be best. Maybe the middle or end of April?" I ask Edward as my brain is thinking on when the flowers usually are in full bloom around here.
"That's perfect with me. As long as we can get them on board, here. We'll go talk to them later today and see what we can hammer out." Edward says, rubbing my shoulder.
"Ok. Let me write some of this down, now, and you guys get back to me when you talk to them. That way, I can keep an ear out for any nosy tabloids that start sniffing around. That timeframe would be good too, because the less time people have to figure it out, the better you'll be in the clear to get married, peacefully. And if they give you shit about getting married there, you give me their number and I'll MAKE them comply. I have my ways…" She tells us as she starts writing furiously on a notepad.
And so it begins…
/-/
We talked to the event planners they have on the estate, and they were willing to work with us on getting our wedding planned out as quickly as possible.
And they were really amazing. They told us we could pick our flowers, our cake, and food, and they would get everything put together for us.
We got all of that done that day, and they went over the options we could have for where on the estate we wanted to get married.
I didn't realize we could pick. I thought they would have just a specific place where we could have the ceremony.
We went ahead and blocked off a portion of rooms at the hotel for the guests we knew would end up being there.
As I look down at all the information we got from the planners earlier, it's starting to sink in more and more. And my smile just grows as I look over at Edward, who's lounging on the terrace with me, looking out over the mountains.
We're getting married.
A/N: Let's repeat that for those in the back... They're getting MARRIED!
And Rose... *tsk tsk tsk* Bad Rose!
