[Gravesfield: Connecticut]
Just outside of Gravesfield, a town located in the center of Connecticut a large, expensive looking black mini limousine was driving into town. Many of the townspeople noticed the mini limousine and wondered who was coming into town as it was clearly someone wealthy, but they also wondered why someone would come to this unremarkable town of all places as that vehicle look like it belonged in New York City or Paris?
The person driving the mini limousine was a young looking middle-aged man with dark slick backed hair with a powerful jawline. Despite being in the driver's seat it was obvious that the driver was quite tall and muscular as he was at least over six feet tall. The driver was wearing an expensive looking suit that looks like it was custom made out of the highest materials, and it did very little to hide his obvious set of muscles, that looked like they had been trained to the peak of human physical conditioning.
This man was no ordinary man as not only was he one of the wealthiest people on the planet, he was one of the most famous. The driver was none other than billionaire bachelor Bruce Wayne, the owner of Wayne Industries, one of the most powerful companies in the world where he is majority owner with fifty one percent of shares in his name and his name alone.
Bruce was considered a rich bachelor who in between running his company and his large amount of donations to charity, was known to have very little time to himself. But unknown to the whole world except for a few powerful individuals he was in fact the infamous vigilante superhero of Gotham, the world's greatest detective, the dark knight of Gotham, or better known as the Batman!
Currently Bruce was not in Gravesfield on business as Batman, he was here on more personal business as just a few days ago he learned that he had a daughter that up until recently didn't know she even existed!
Burce looked over the file his acquaintance/enemy Amanda Waller had given him on his up until recently unknown daughter, Luz Noceda!
'Camilia...' thought Bruce as he thought the name of Luz's mother, and his former lover.
He then began to remember that day he was called to Amanda Waller's office to be given the news.
[Flashback]
"What's your game Waller?!"asked Batman is he slammed the file onto the desk as he was having his secret meeting with with government agent Amanda Waller in her personal office.
"It's exactly as it looks like Bruce. That girl whose picture is on that file is your daughter."said Amanda Waller calmly and she took a sip of water.
"How?!"asked Batman as even he didn't know who this girl existed until that very moment.
"I did a deep background check on your life Bruce. I keep my friends close and my enemies closer as you are well aware. But color me surprised when I learn one of your former lovers had a daughter not long after she left Gotham, you can see how it was not that hard to put two and two together."said Waller as she interlocked her fingers as she leaned into her desk.
"Camila Noceda... how did you even know she existed as I did a lot to make sure she and I would not have been associated."said Batman as he knew his PR team with Wayne enterprises was no joke.
"Bruce Bruce Bruce, after all these years, we should already know but this point not to underestimate each other. I have access to some of the greatest criminal investigators in the world. Not on par with the world's greatest detective but good enough to figure out where who Camila Noceda is, where she went, how she had a daughter not long after you two broke up, and even going as far as to get a DNA sample when the girl left her soda straw after a meal."said Waller has Batman should have realized that when it comes to something that gains her interest, Amanda Waller is extremely thorough as she picks through it with a microscope.
"Why didn't she tell me..."said Batman under his breath, as Camila never told them she was pregnant by the time they had broken up.
"Quite an interesting love story wouldn't you say. You had just barely started out your career as the Dark Knight when the Gotham crime families already put a target on your back. Rupert Thorne personally put a ten million dollar bounty on your head and one Hitman Floyd Lawton, better known to everyone as Deadshot decided to collect. It's pretty obvious that he failed miserably but he did wound you before you knocked him out and left him for the Gotham Police department to deal with."began Waller and she took a sip of water before continuing.
"As you were trying to get away from the scene with a gunshot wound in your gut, you ended up collapsing and most likely would have died as it was a particularly cold night in Gotham, well below 0 c. That is when Camila Noceda, a then assistant veterinarian at a local animal clinic found you. She couldn't leave you there to die so she brought you to the clinic. When you convinced her that you were not going to a hospital, she ended up using what was available at the clinic to get the bullet out of you and close your wound. She ended up finding out who you were after she accidentally removed your mask. You later called her to thank her and asked her if she wanted to go for a coffee. One thing led to another and eventually you two started dating."said Waller as Batman listen carefully.
He wasn't surprised that she knew all of this, she was one of the United States government's top agents for a reason.
"And you already know what happened next."said Batman as he wanted Waller to get to the point already.
"A few months after you started dating with your lifestyle both as Bruce Wayne and the Batman, Camila couldn't handle it anymore and gave you an ultimatum. Give up being Batman or she was leaving you. Of course she already knew you were not going to give it up so she just walked out of Wayne Manor and left Gotham City that very night to Gravesfield Connecticut. Must have located to that town for its remoteness as a lot of people don't even know it exists. For the former lover of Bruce Wayne it's the perfect place to go."said Waller as Batman could tell she was being sarcastic.
"So you found out about my ex-lover and my up until recently unknown daughter. Why are you telling me all of this?"asked Batman, as Amanda Waller wasn't the kind of person to give up the kind of dirt she could use on someone she trusts but at the same time doesn't trust.
"I'm telling you this because of this!"said Waller as she tossed some photos on to the desk.
Batman look the photos over and couldn't believe what he saw. He saw known associates of his villains moving through Gravesfield. These men he knew well as he remembered their faces, and he also remember they worked for some of the most dangerous criminals he's ever faced.
"Known associates of your rogues gallery have been spotted in that town during my investigation on your daughter. I'm not sure if they know about her existence, but I for one don't like coincidences."said Waller who never believed in coincidences.
"How?!"asked Batman as he wondered how they could have known, not even he knew!
"Bruce don't forget that's some of these scum hate you to the very core of their being. They want to hurt you in ways you can never imagine. I'm not sure if they know Luz is your daughter, but the way those associates of different criminal groups are working together means this is a large scale operation. Whatever they're doing in Gravesfield is not good. So I figured I should contact the foremost expert on these villains while at the same time having someone ensure that your daughter doesn't end up getting caught in the crossfire."said Amanda Waller, who has done many horrible things in the name of her country, but even she would never take the life of someone who shouldn't be involved in the affairs of adults.
Batman just quietly picked up the file and walked out of the office. Waller knew that he would be going Gravesfield as soon as possible. Luz, his daughter was innocent.
He could not live with himself if she ended up getting hurt because of him! Waller knew this and that is one of the reasons she trusted Bruce Wayne / The Batman.
[Flashback End]
Bruce pondered on this as he was reviewing everything on the file Waller compiled on Luz.
She was fourteen years old. She was a middle school student with quite the record as she has been called to the principal's office multiple times for multiple instances. Examples include spewing fake guts during a audition for Romeo and Juliet. Making an accurate Griffin with literal spider breath with real spiders during art class, scaring multiple students by flipping her eyelids as far as possible during cheerleading tryouts, and most recently bringing real snakes to her book report presentation.
According to her psych profile she had quite the imagination and seems to live in a fantasy world. She was also a particular fan of the book series The Good Witch Azura.
'Those are just some of the many reasons her mother sent her to a reality check summer camp, so she can stop living in her fantasy world and try to move on in the real world...the only problem is..' thought Bruce has he pulled out the letter Waller intercepted from the summer camp' Luz did not write this...'
Bruce's alter ego wasn't the world's greatest detective for nothing. He carefully scanned known writing samples of his daughter and although not obvious to the naked eye, under a microscope it was obvious that someone else had written the letters ever since Luz was sent to summer camp!
Something suspicious was going on, he just knew it!
Soon Bruce's mini limousine pulled up on a street and stopped in front of a small two story house. This house is where Camila and Luz have been living in for the past fourteen years. Bruce took a deep breath to steady his nerves as he exited the vehicle and started making his way up from the front yard to the many steps of the platform stairs that led to the front door.
He adjusted his tie and swept back his hair a little as he rang the doorbell. He patiently waited as he heard someone approaching the door. Soon he saw a middle-aged Latina women with her brown hair in a bun, wearing nurses scrubs and red glasses approaching the door.
"Hello, can I help... Bruce?"said Camila Noceda, Luz's mother and Bruce's former lover.
"Camila... can we talk inside?"asked Bruce as Camila calmly moved out of the way and motion for Bruce to come inside.
She slowly close the door behind her and she took a deep breath and turned around to face him.
"I knew this day would one day come."said Camila, who had a pretty good idea of why Bruce was here as he turned around to face her.
"Why didn't you tell me about Luz?"asked Bruce, wondering why Camilla has been hiding this for all these years.
"Why? Why?! I'll tell you why! It's because I didn't want our daughter to know that her father was some vigilante running around in a costume all night, fighting some of the most dangerous people on the planet!"said Camila as Bruce calmly stared at her as he was expecting this kind of reaction.
"Camila why didn't you tell me that night you came to see me that you were pregnant?"asked Bruce, who thought if he had known that back then maybe he would have given up being Batman.
"Bruce... even that night when I asked you to stop being Batman I knew you were not going to do it. As much is it pained me I knew Gotham needed you to save it from its own cesspool. Before Batman came along I was scared to walk the streets of Gotham at night because of how bad the gangs and the crime families had destroyed the city and corrupted it to its very core."said Camila, who knew back then Gotham was in its darkest hour.
"I would have given it up if I knew you were pregnant."said Bruce but Camila just shook her head.
"Bruce we both know that is not true. That darkness inside of you that drives you to help others are less fortunate would never have allowed you. Even if it did I knew it would have consumed you eventually. I didn't want my daughter to grow up where one day her father wouldn't come home because he was killed or worse."said Camila and she could have never put Luz through that.
"Even if that's the case you should have told me. I would have gladly helped you out in any way possible, you know that."said Bruce, as being a single parent couldn't have been easy for Camila.
"Bruce I know you would have helped me, I know you would have helped our daughter. But if I asked you for a money I know you would eventually have found out about Luz. I know it was selfish of me to keep her existence a secret from you but I had no choice. You are who you are but when it comes to family... I couldn't imagine the thought of my daughter having to witness your death or something much worse... that is the reason I left Gotham in the first place."said Camila as she didn't want Luz to one day wonder why her father wasn't coming home.
"I could have helped Camila. You know if you were ever in any trouble, financial or otherwise I would have helped right away."
"I Know! But one can't be a hero and have a family! No one can have it all! I know of those villains you deal with! I know how dangerous they are, especially that Payaso! I didn't want Luz to one day be put in extreme danger because of your actions! I know I was selfish! I know I should have told you about Luz! I know I should have told Luz who her father is! But I don't regret my decisions one bit if it meant making sure that Luz stays alive!"said Camila as tears formed in her eyes.
"Camila..."
"I understand why you did what you did, and why you still do it. The world needs a Batman. You have saved the world so many times. You not only fought back the corruption of Gotham, but you manage to purge the city of every corrupt official and help put in office people who would actually help Gotham for the better. You have saved countless lives and managed to do the impossible over and over again. But none of that would have been possible if I chose to stay with you and raise Luz with you."said Camila as although it pained her to leave Bruce and not tell him about Luz, she knew for the greater good of things that Bruce needed to be Batman.
Bruce was just silent as he couldn't retort anything Camila was saying.
"You know Luz is a huge fan of Batman. I imagine at times how happy she would be to know that her favorite superhero is also her father. She has multiple Batman memorabilia in her room and even hanged up some news clippings of some of your greatest exploits in her room...It pains me to see how much she loves Batman, while never knowing that her father and her favorite superhero are one and the same. I'm raising our daughter to the best of my ability and she has turned out to be quite a good girl. She has a colorful imagination but otherwise I raised her to be a good person. Must be the Wayne genes running through her as she has a similar sense of justice like you."said Camila as she smiled through her tears.
"Where is she?"asked Bruce as as Camila took a deep breath before answering.
"She's still at the reality check summer camp I sent her to. We bonded greatly that day I found her near that abandoned house not too far from here when she ended up missing the bus. I decided to go to work late so I could drive her there."said Camila as Bruce couldn't bring himself to tell her that the individual she sent to the summer camp and their real daughter weren't the same person.
I see... I'm sorry I wasted your time."said Bruce says he walked over to the front door and opened it to leave.
"You still mean a lot to me you know. If you ever need any help don't be afraid to call."said Bruce as he walked out the door and closed it behind him before heading back to his car.
"You know... it's strange no matter how many years go by my love for you hasn't disappeared Bruce..."said Camila, who was still in love with Bruce as a pains her that he left even though she was the one who broke off ties with him in the first place.
She fell to the floor and sobed the little as she began wondering if it was time for Luz to know about her father, or at the very least one side of him.
Meanwhile Bruce entered his limousine and started driving. But he wasn't leaving!
"Batmobile show me the nearest abandoned house near my current location."said Bruce as the screen in the car began to show a nearby abandoned house and how to get there.
Bruce's face grew stern as he pressed a button hidden in the stick shift! As soon as he pressed that button the mini limousine started changing in shape as it was revealed to have only been a hologram, and that what was thought to be a mini limousine was in fact the batmobile!
Bruce meanwhile pressed another button hidden in the blinker switch, causing the batmobile to go into autopilot as mechanical arms started to remove Bruce's suit and began changing him into his Batman outfit!
His full-bodied dark gray titanium tri weave, MR fluid liquid armor onesie was pulled over his body as several metal arms were putting metal plates of armor around his shoulders, chest, bellv, and upper legs. His titanium steel boots were placed onto his feet as the metal plates adjusted and set in place. His armored gauntlets with thick rubber knuckles were placed over his hands and arms as the non-sharp metal blades on his forearms set in place along with the holographic touch screen on his right gauntlet. His black titanium weave cape and utility belt were put on next as they were placed around his waist and shoulders.
Several smaller mechanical arms started putting things on the utility belt. These included batarangs, both regular and remote control, explosive gel gun, high powered grappling hook, smoke pellets, bat trackers, bat claw attachment, line launcher, Nth metal brass knuckles, freeze cluster grenades, flash grenades, tazer, and sonic batarangs.
His capes gliding feature was attached by putting thin titanium steel rods and both ends of the cape before placing it on his shoulders.
Finally the black cowl with night vision, heat vision, echolocation, oder senser, forensic scanner, and observation listening device / communicator was placed over his head as the metal parts started to adjust to his face.
As the batmobile drove up to the abandoned house near the Noceda home, Batman stepped out of the vehicle with his intimidating presence.
"This is the last place where Camila saw Luz, it's been weeks but hopefully I can still set up a crime scene and find out what happened. My quess is that this somehow involves magic, or at the very least advanced science."said Batman as he pulled out a potion John Constantine had given him after the last time they worked together.
"Hopefully with this I'll find her."said Batman as he stepped into the abandoned house to see if he could still set up a crime scene.
Nothing out of the ordinary seem to be going on in the house as it look like it was just filled with a bunch of useless stuff that most people would throw away. This was already suspicious on itself as these things looked like they were in excellent condition, along with the fact that they were wrapped tightly in plastic bags to protect them from the elements.
'From the clear lack of foot traffic it's obvious that someone doesn't live here, but it is clear that they're using this disabanded house as some kind of storage space. Did Luz end up running into the person using this house? Wait a minute." thought Batman as he was detecting a signature from a nearby wall.
His regular scanners weren't working so he decided to switch to a scanner that John Constantine helped built for him to detect magic, and sure enough he was detecting trace amounts of magic near a nearby wall.
"Did Luz go through this?"Batman asked himself as he activated the forensic feature of his cowl.
Sure enough they were dusty footprints about a teenage girl's size going towards where the door was along with prints that look like bird prints. Upon further further scanning the prints were more consistent with a small owl's prints, but there was something off about them?!
But before Batman could ponder on this anymore he sensed that someone was behind him and got out of the way just in time as a huge, green reptilian fist slammed into the ground with great force, causing the floorboards where Batman was to shatter upon impact!
Batman immediately turned to see a giant of a humanoid wearing only blue jeans with crocodile light features staring back at him.
"Croc!"said Batman as he recognized his would-be attacker as Waylon Jones, AKA Killer Croc.
"I tracked your smell Batman as soon as you stepped into this town! I don't know why you're here but you're not getting in the way! I will filet you like a fish and eat everything, including your bones and brain."said Killer Croc before noticing the vial that Batman had accidentally dropped on the floor.
"What's this?"asked Croc as Batman quickly recognized it as the magic vial that John Constantine gave him as Croc picked it up with his claws.
"Croc put that down!"ordered Batman as Killer Croc snarled at him!
"You don't get to tell me what to do Batman! And don't think you'll get out of this as the others will be here in a few seconds!"yelled Croc as he threw the vile at Batman!
Unfortunately Killer Croc's aim was terrible is it instead of hitting Batman, he ended up hitting the part of the wall with the magic signature. The vile shattered upon impact and it appeared that the magic liquid inside started to mix with the magic radiating from the wall.
"That is noot good!"said Batman as he knew mixing magic was a bad idea is that's how Solomon Grundy was created!
Sure enough within seconds his suspicions were confirmed as what looked like a giant portal appeared where the vial connected with the wall and started to suck everything inside of it!
Killer Croc was the first one to be sucked in as Batman tried to hang on to the loose floorboards, but it was all in vain as the floorboards quickly ripped apart and he was sucked into the portal!
As Batman was losing consciousness he noticed several other individuals getting sucked into the portal along with the batmobile! But before he could focus on this any longer he ended up passing out!

Batman woke up to find that instead of the abandoned house he was now in the middle of some kind of forest. As he got up from the floor he saw a bunch of magical looking creatures from a griffin to some kind of dragon like creature flying through the skies that were clearly not the skies of Earth.
"I have a feeling that this investigation has just gotten more complicated."said Batman as he had a feeling that this was going to get more weird and strange before it was over.
He also wondered if he could still find his daughter?!
Hey everyone PrimusPilus here to give his two cents.
Yeah I have decided to bring back Daughter Of The Bat. I told you all before I deleted this story the first time that if it was brought back from its "indefinite hiatus" that I would continue writing the story.
Now the story won't be exactly the same as I improved as a writer in my time since then so I might do a few changes.
I might just set this farther into season 1 than the original story but I'm still deciding.
Anyway I'm glad that the owl house has been brought back as on March 19th as episode 11 of season 2 will air.
I really look forward to watching it.
Anyway the story is back so I hope you all enjoy it!
