Chapter 14 Calamity War part 3:The Sacrifice :
Marcy grunted as she landed on the floor of the throne room. She saw the box on the pedestal. She moved to run towards it but jumped back when a flame sword struck the ground in front of her.
"Oh, no you don't!"
Marcy looked up to see Andrias glaring at her.
"You are not ruining this for me!" he growled.
He lifted his sword again. Marcy rolled out of the way before running off. Andrias chased after her. The black haired girl panted as she ran through the castle. The giant newt swung his tail, striking Marcy in her ribcage and sending her into a wall.
"GAH!" she cried.
Marcy fell to the ground. She moves to get up but stops when she feels a burning pain through her ribs. She placed a hand on her sides and felt around. Marcy groaned as her hand touched a tender spot on the upper half of her ribcage.
'First I got nicked by a flame dagger and now I have eight broken ribs,' she said in her head.
Marcy leans against the wall and pushes herself to her feet. Andrias moved towards her, scraping his sword across the floor.
"I knew I should've killed you when I had the chance! Now, I'm not holding back!" he growled, swinging his sword.
Despite the pain, Marcy ducked down to avoid getting stabbed by his sword, making the blade get stuck in the wall behind her. Andrias grunted as he tried to get his sword free. Marcy took this as an opportunity to run to the box. Andrias had finally got the blade out and ran towards her. The black haired girl turned to see the flaming blade heading for her. She jumped out of the way. Marcy looked up to see the weapon charging up.
'Shit! I'm running out of time,' she said.
Andrias swung his tail again. Marcy put her arms up in an "X" to block it but was knocked into another wall, a crack sounding through the throne room. Marcy laid on the ground. Andrias loomed over her.
"You really think you can defeat me? You're all alone," he said
Marcy gritted her teeth as her pale green eyes glowed a dark green color.
"You're one to talk. You lost your friends on your own! You pushed them away because you wanted to help your father wipe out an entire civilization!" she shouted.
Andrias glared at her.
"You shut your mouth, you brat!" he said.
"You didn't have anyone to open up to. You spent most of your life isolated from the outside world, didn't you? Thousands of years of closing off your feelings, building walls around your heart to keep people from hurting you, drowning in sadness, anger and self-hatred. It's tough. I would know because I had to deal with that ever since I was 10," Marcy.
Andrias growled as he raised his sword.
"ENOUGH!" he shouted, bringing the blade down.
Marcy lifted her arm to block it. A green shield formed on Marcy's arm, protecting her from the sword. The black haired girl glared up at Andrias who was surprised by this.
"But you're wrong about what you said. I'm never alone," she said.
She pushed back against the sword with a show of surprising strength. Andrias moved back a few feet. A dark green energy surrounded Marcy's body as her hair and eyes glowed green as green veins bulged out of her arms, stretching to her neck.
"You may have been able to manipulate me back then but I've changed since then," she said.
Andrias growled and swung his sword at her. Marcy blocked it with her shield as she looked up at the weapon. She needed to get over there, asap. Marcy jumped back and flew towards the box. Andrias growled and pressed a button, summoning his robots. Marcy looked over her shoulder to see about 50 robots behind her.
"Shit," she grumbled.
Marcy grabbed an arrow from her quiver and launched it at the robots. The arrow's tip turned green as it went through every single robot, destroying them one by one. Marcy landed in front of the weapon. The box was going haywire as sparks flew out of it. The black haired girl held her hand out. A beam of energy was shot at her. Marcy grunted as she caught it in her left hand. Andrias ran towards her.
"NO!" he shouted.
Another beam of energy shot Andrias in the chest, disintegrating him. A burst of energy went out through the castle. Marcy let out a shout as she was sent into a wall. Her back connected to the stone, sending a jolt of pain through her spine. Outside of the castle, everyone in the city including Anne,Sasha and the others, gasped as sparks of energy shot out of the castle. Oum held Anne's hand while Bee had a hand on her shoulder, squeezing it tightly. Anne was watching with a hopeful look, her hand gripping Sasha's.
"Come on Mar-Mar," she said.
Marcy gritted her teeth as the left half of her shirt tore. Soon enough, Marcy's green hair and eyes turned a silver color as white veins ran up her arms. She tries to get up but the massive energy from the box forces her back down. Marcy winces as the energy surrounds her body. She looks at the sky, seeing the portal to Amphibia getting bigger. She closes her eyes. Images of her friends, Yunnan, Olivia and Corbin appeared in her mind. But the thing that mattered to her most was Anne's smile appearing as well. Marcy lifts her hand and aims it at the sky.
"I'm sorry Anne, but I don't think I can keep my promise," she whispered.
She shoots a beam into the sky. Everyone gasped as the beam hit the portal, closing it.
"She did it…Marcy did it!" Darcy cheered.
Everyone cheered. Though their cheering was cut short when they saw the castle falling from the sky and heading towards them. And Marcy was still in there. She moves to run forward but is stopped by Sasha grabbing her arm.
"Anne! No! It's too dangerous!" she shouted.
The younger girl looked at her.
"But Marcy's still in there! I have to go help her!" she said.
Anne yanked her hand free from Sasha's grip and ran towards the castle.
"Anne!" Sasha and her parents called out.
She ignored them as she ran towards the castle. The castle crashed into the ground, forming a crater in the ground and leaving rubble and debris. Anne looked at the destroyed castle. Anne noticed an arrow on the ground. She fell to her knees as tears filled her eyes. Marcy was gone.
"Anne!" Sasha shouted.
She stopped behind her friend and looked at the castle.
"Anne?" she asked.
Sasha stumbled as Anne threw herself into her arms, crying into her shoulder. The older girl hugged her back as she cried as well. Everyone began to mourn the death of their friend. But unbeknownst to them, the arrow was glowing green.
