Author's Note: The iCarly reboot definitely is not the same without Sam and it makes me nostalgic for the original gang. Here's what I imagine her return to Seattle looking like.
Summary: After several years, Sam Puckett finally decides to return to Seattle to reunite with her best friend Carly. It's the first time Freddie has seen her since the Killer Tuna Jump on Sam & Cat and let's just say they are at very different points in their lives…Will her return prompt old feelings? Follows the continuity of the iCarly reboot for the most part (I haven't watched season two so there may be some things that aren't exact.)
Chapter 1: iReturn to Seattle
It was an ordinary morning at Bushwell Plaza – Carly sat at the kitchen counter eating a bowl of cereal whilst playing on her phone. Harper on the other hand is frantically searching for various articles of clothing as she comes barreling into the living room.
"Good morning Harper!" Greeted Carly. Harper didn't seem to notice as she continued searching through a pile of clothes on the couch.
"Yo Harper!" Tried Carly again, raising her voice. Finally breaking her out of her trance, Harper briefly looked up to acknowledge Carly's presence before continuing to rifle through her pile.
"Oh hey Carly!" Answered Harper distractedly.
"What are you looking for anyway?" Asked Carly as she spun her stool around to face her roommate.
"I'm meeting with a client this morning and there's this scarf I think would be perfect for an outfit I have in mind, but I can't find it anywhere! I'm already so behind!" Stressed Harper, hands resting on her head as she thought of places it could be.
Carly leaned forward, as though checking out Harper.
"Um, Harper? Is the scarf pink with little red devil horns?" Carly asked knowingly.
"Yeah! How did you know?" Exclaimed Harper.
"Check your back pocket." Said Carly, lightly chuckling to herself.
"Are you kidding me?!" Harper groaned to no one in particular. She grabbed the scarf stuffed it in her duffle and ran for the door.
"Thanks Carly, I'll see you later!" And with that Harper was out the door in a flash, nearly crashing into Spencer who was standing outside the door.
"Woah, see ya Harper!" Shouted Spencer with a wave as he entered the apartment. "Hey little sister!" Spencer enthusiastically greeted Carly as he sat on her couch.
"Hey Spence! Actually I was going to come by in a bit, is it cool if I get some work done up in the studio today? I've got to get some stuff set up before some meetings later."
"Yeah no problemo! Socko and I are going to go hunt for some art supplies anyway." Said Spencer as he got up and headed towards the door.
"Sounds fun. Just please promise me one thing?" Carly countered.
"Name it." He answered.
"If you pick up anything at the dump, make sure there's nothing living in it this time." Carly chuckled.
"Aw, but those opossums were so cute!" He responded, his head popping through the door.
"But I do still have the scar…Okay point taken." Spencer said with a nod, the door closing behind him.
Later on that day, around 6pm Carly returned to Bushwell Plaza after a long day of meeting with sponsors for iCarly. Arms full of products, she went to unlock the door only to find that it was unlocked. Upon entering the apartment she instantly went to put down the packages on the coffee table. Now, with her vision unobstructed, she glanced around for Harper whom she could barely see as she was leaning incredibly deep into the refrigerator. Carly chuckled as she brushed herself off.
"Hey! So how'd it go today?" Carly asked as she picked up a leather jacket she noticed on the couch. Before waiting for a response from Harper Carly piped up again.
"Ooh I love this jacket! Doesn't seem like something you'd wear though." She said thoughtfully as she examined the well-worn jacket.
"Really? I thought it suits me pretty well." The response came from the kitchen, however it wasn't Harper…
Carly instantly looked up to see that who she had thought was Harper digging around the fridge was in fact her old best friend Sam! The other half of the iCarly duo stood there with a huge grin on her face and a half-eaten piece of ham in her hand.
"Oh my god! Sam!" Exclaimed Carly ecstatically as she ran to her friend. Sam met her in the middle and the two shared one of the strongest hugs they'd ever experienced.
"Hiya kid!" Responded Sam. As they pulled away, Carly dragged Sam by the hand over to the couch.
"I can't believe you're really here! I missed you so much! You look fantastic! I want to hear everything!" Rambled off Carly. Sam chuckled.
"Relax Carls, we've got plenty of time! But honestly, I missed you too." The two shared a knowing smile and another hug, both girls nearly tearing up.
"But enough of that mushy stuff! Let's have a drink and catch up like old times." Sam said as she made her way back to the kitchen, grabbing two beers from the fridge. As she was making her way back to the couch a moment of realization dawned on Carly.
"Wait a minute…how did you get in?" Carly asked, eying Sam suspiciously. Sam sheepishly handed Carly her beer as she sat down.
"I might've picked the lock…" Sam admitted with a hint of a smile.
"Sam!" Carly scolded, although she wasn't mad in the slightest – in fact it nearly made her laugh because of how typical of Sam it was.
"Well no one was home and then I tried Spencer's and no one was there either. Plus, mama was getting hungry."
"Of course." Said Carly as the two girls chuckled and clinked their beers.
The two began filling each other in on their lives, it was like they hadn't missed a beat. Sam shared how glad she was to see Carly doing the show again and that she'd even watched it on the road.
Just then the front door opened and Harper strolled in in a much more relaxed state than when she left earlier that day.
"Hey Carl—" She drifted off noticing Sam's presence. Carly jumped up and ran over to Harper, ushering her towards the couch.
"Hi Harper! I'd like to introduce you to Sam!" Carly said energetically. Sam stood to greet Harper reaching out her hand.
"Nice to meet ya!" Sam said casually shaking Harper's hand. Harper, needing a moment to process finally began to connect the dots.
"Wait a minute," she said looking between Sam and Carly "you mean Sam SAM?". The two girls both giggled as Sam took a dramatic bow.
"The one and only!" Sam chuckled.
"It's so nice to finally meet you! I've heard so much about you! Girl have I got some questions…" Said Harper with the visible desire to gossip.
"Hey! Why don't we go out get some food and drinks and catch up? Have a girls' night!" Suggested Carly.
"You know I'm always down to get food! Plus it'll be nice to have a girls' night after spending all that time with the Outlaws." Casually replied Sam, but both Harper and Carly's expressions showed a mixture of concern and confusion. Noticing the puzzled looks on their faces Sam elaborated.
"The motorcycle gang?" Sam said slowly as if it would help them understand better.
"Oh right! Duh!" Responded Carly.
"Okay, now I've got even more questions!" Exclaimed Harper.
"Alright let's go." Carly said shaking her head as she ushered Harper towards the door. Sam grabbed her jacket and the three left the apartment.
