Chapter 3: iMeet Freddie's Daughter
The next morning, a Saturday, Carly begrudgingly awoke to the sun streaming through her window. She thought she felt fine, that is until she got up. Her head was instantly throbbing as she made her way to the kitchen. As she passed through the living room she saw Sam sleeping soundly on the couch, nearly half of her body hanging off – a position she only knew of Sam to be able to sleep in.
She searched through one of the cupboards before finding the object of her search – Advil. She popped a few in her mouth and followed them up with a big glass of water. She grabbed another glass and the bottle and made her way to Harper's room.
Carly sat on the edge of her bed and began to wake up her roommate. She sat down the glass of water and began to shake Harper's shoulder.
"Harper…" Carly said gently. Harper simply stirred in her sleep before mumbling,
"Leave me alone." Carly simply shook her a bit harder.
"Come on, trust me you're going to appreciate this later." Harper then turned to Carly to see what she was offering her. She sleepily took the pills and a sip of water before laying back down. Carly chuckled and headed back out to the living room.
Carly was surprised to see Sam had left her spot on the couch and as soon as she noticed the sound of the running shower she lazily plopped down on the couch and closed her eyes.
Carly then awoke to the smell of bacon and feeling significantly better than when she had first gotten up that morning. She groggily looked up to see Sam in the kitchen making breakfast, bopping her head as she did so. She realized Sam had her Pearpods in and was listening to music – so she shuffled her way to grab a seat at the counter.
Sam noticing Carly pulled out the headphones.
"Hey cupcake! Good morning!" Sam greeted enthusiastically. Carly simply nodded, rubbing her eyes.
"How are you so…chipper this morning?" Carly asked in humored confusion. Sam slid a plate of bacon, eggs, and toast in front of the brunette.
"What do you mean? We didn't go that crazy last night!" Sam questioned.
"Dude, we easily drank an entire bottle of tequila between the three of us!" Carly exclaimed.
"Yeah exactly! Child's play!" Protested Sam. Carly chuckled and rolled her eyes, picking up her fork.
"I think you've been spending too much time with your biker friends." Teased Carly whilst taking a bite of her food.
"Yeah, you may have a point there." Admitted Sam as she started making up another plate. Harper then sleepily emerged from her room, her eyes nearly closed, making her way to the counter.
"I smell bacon." She said plainly. Sam chuckled and slid a plate of food in front of her.
"My kind of girl! Here." Sam joked. She grabbed her own plate and pulled up a stool on her side of the counter, facing the other two. The girls continued to eat breakfast and chat, recapping the night before.
A few hours had passed and the girls were all hanging out in the living room watching bad reality TV when Carly's Pearphone calendar sent her a notification.
"Oh shoot!" Carly exclaimed causing both Sam and Harper to give her their attention.
"What is it?" Harper asked.
"I completely forgot about the photo shoot I have today for Seattle Magazine!" Carly shot up from her spot on the couch, beginning to run in circles not knowing where to begin.
"Okay we've got two hours till we need to be there!" She said to Harper.
Harper had a confused expression on her face, "Wait, I'm going too? I didn't know and I told Freddie I'd watch Millicent for him." Said Harper. Carly visibly began to panic.
"What? Harper I need you! My brain isn't even working properly! I have no idea what to wear! And if I don't know what I'm wearing I don't know how to do my makeup! And oh god…if I don't know what I'm doing with my makeup I don't know what I'm doing with my hair! And –" Sam jumped in, cutting off Carly's rant, grabbing Carly by the arms forcing her to stand still.
"Chill Carls! Breathe. I will watch the little Rugrat and that way Harper can go with you. No need to get all stressy." Sam said firmly, attempting to soothe Carly. The brunette began to calm down.
"Whew, okay thank you so much Sam! You're the best!" Exclaimed Carly whilst embracing her best friend. Sam smiled hugging her back, "Yeah, I know." she said with a smile.
Harper and Carly began getting the internet star ready while Sam resumed watching TV – except this time with an additional plate of ham. Finally the two roommates emerged ready to go for the photoshoot, Harper carrying a garment bag full of Carly's outfits and Carly looking camera ready. The girls made their way towards the front door.
"Looking good Carls!" Shouted Sam from the couch.
"Thanks! So Millicent usually comes over on her own and then Freddie will pick her up later. Thank you again Sam – you're a lifesaver!" Gushed Carly as she and Harper sped out the door.
About an hour passed and Sam was still sitting on the couch with her feet up on the coffee table when the front door suddenly opened to reveal Millicent. The young girl paused, taken aback by Sam's presence. Sam merely turned to her and nodded her head.
"Sup." Said Sam before directing her attention back to the TV. Millicent clearly looked puzzled.
"Um, who are you? Is Harper here?" She asked accusingly. Sam then muted the TV and turned completely to face her.
"I'm Sam, I'm an old friend of Carly's. Harper and Carly had to go do a photoshoot for some magazine, so looks like I'm stuck with you for today." Sam responded, although the latter part of her statement was clearly intended to be lighthearted.
"Wait, Sam as in iCarly Sam?" Millicent said dumbstruck.
"That be me!" Sam chuckled. Millicent moved quickly to the couch placing herself next to the blonde.
"Omg you have to tell me all about the pranks you've pulled on my dad!" Millicent said excitedly.
"Your dad?" Sam asked, momentarily confused – that is, until she remembered. "Oh Feddie! Ha! Well you better buckle up kid, cause we'll be here for a while." Sam said with a smirk.
Millicent just nodded mischievously. The two girls got to talking and Sam found herself quite surprised at the little one. She'd never been the biggest fan of kids, but Sam found herself quite entertained by Millicent as the two continued to share stories, as well as plenty of junk food, and play video games.
After a few hours the girls had just finished a competitive game of Mario Kart, Sam being the victor (of course), when Sam got up to use the restroom.
"Hey squirt I'm gonna take a wazz, but when I come back I'll give you another chance to beat me." Sam said as she left the living room.
"Oh you're so on!" Shouted back Millicent as she set up a new game. Suddenly, there was a friendly knock and the front door opened to reveal Freddie – making his way toward the living area.
"Hey Millicent!" Greeted Freddie. Millicent merely looked over to say "Hi Freddie!" before directing her gaze back to the TV. Freddie's eyes briefly scanned the apartment.
"Where's Harper?" Asked Freddie, somewhat suspiciously.
"She's at some photoshoot with Carly." Casually replied Millicent, her eyes never leaving the game she started playing.
"So she just left you here by yourself?" Asked Freddie growing angry. Millicent simply shook her head.
"No, Sam's here." And with that, Freddie's expression shifted from one of frustration to one of absolute confusion.
"What? Wait…Sam?" Freddie mused. Suddenly, Sam emerged from the bathroom and reentered the living room. Freddie was instantly gobsmacked – his eyes wide, as if he couldn't believe who was in front of him.
