Hi guys I'm back with a new story I hope you enjoy it though a few things first before getting started. First this story is based on the anime orange. Second this story will go back and forth from a past timeline to a future timeline and to separate them I'll add line breaks hopefully that will help to know which timeline it is. This will be in third person but it will be in Marinette's perspective most of the time. Here's s an outline for the format I'll use.

For separate timeliness a line break will be used between them.

For when a letter is read the text of the letter will be this

When someone is thinking the text will be like 'this'

Disclaimer - I don't own Miraculous Ladybug

It was a bright sunny day one summer in Paris, France. In a small area of the main park stood in a cycle 5 young adults and a little boy in the arms of his mother. The mother was Marinette Couffaine; she had blue eyes and middle length flowy hair. Her son was LJ Couffaine who had blue eyes like his mom and he had black hair with teal tips just like his dad. His dad was Luka Couffaine who had the same hair as his son and had tealish eyes. He was standing next to Marinette as he just finished digging out a box from the ground in the middle of the group and opened it before handing Marinette a letter from inside the box. Next to Luka was his twin sister Juleka Couffaine who had long black hair with purple tips and her eyes were reddish. Next to Juleka was Marinette's best friend Alya Lahiffe who had brownish hair and light brown eyes. Next to Alya and Marinette was Alya's husband Nino Lahiffe who had dark brown hair and brown eyes.

"Alright, here's Juleka's Alya's and Nino's letters." Luka said as he passed the letters to everyone.

"What else is in there?" Juleka asked as everyone looked at the front of their letters with a bittersweet smile.

"Just a picture of us and Adrien's letter." Luka replied as he took out the remaining letter and the picture out from the box.

Everyone got closer to Luka to look at the picture and they smiled. The picture was taken when they were in their senior year of high school. Nino was standing behind a bench with Juleka on his left and Luka was on the other side of Juleka and Alya was standing on Luka's left side. On the bench Marinette was sitting next to a boy with blonde hair and green eyes and they were all smiling at the camera.

'10 years is a long time and now that I'm 26 I regret so much'

In the distant past it was a bright day in Paris near the end of summer and the Dupain-Cheng bakery was full of people in the morning. As the owners Sabine Dupain-Cheng and her husband Tom Dupain were taking care of their customers their 16 year old daughter Marinette Dupain-Cheng rushed down the stairs and quickly put her shoes on since she was running late.

At that moment someone knocked on the back door of the bakery, the one that led to the stairs which led to the Dupain-Cheng house on top of the bakery. Marinette opens the door to see a young woman with flowy long red hair and blue eyes smiling at her.

"Can I help you?" Marinette asked with a smile even though she was anxious since she was running late.

"Hi I'm Tikki Charm and I'm here to give you this." Tikki replied, handing a letter to Marinette before walking away.

"Hay wait-" Marinette started but it was too late Tikki was out of sight.

Marinette looked at the letter confused and saw her name on the letter. "This is for me?"

"Marinette, are you going to be okay in time?" Sabine asked, walking over to her.

Marinette's eyes widened. "Oh no!" She rushed out the door still holding the letter.

"Yea she'll make it." Sabine mumbled with a soft smile.

"She's not going to make it." Tom mumbled as he watched Marinette rushing out.

Marinette ran across the street to her school as she put the letter in her purse.

'At least I know what my diary will be about September 15th, the first day of senior year and I'm late to school.'

Marinette rushed into her class just in time and she sat next to her best friend Alya Cesaire as usual. Her teacher Mrs. Bustier started her usual welcome back to school speech when the bell rang.

Marinette suddenly remembered about the letter and she took it out from her purse and looked at it.

"Now there's someone that I want to introduce to you guys. I'll be right back." Mrs. Bustier said before leaving the room.

Everyone in the class started talking to their friends even Alya was talking to her boyfriend Nino Lahiffe who sat in front of them so Marinette took the chance to open the letter and started reading.

To Marinette Dupain-Cheng,

My senior year of high school self. How are you? I'm writing this letter ten years in your future. Why am I writing to you when you are in high school? Because I need you to do me a huge favor.

'10 years in the future?'

In this letter, I will chronicle the events that are about to happen and the choices I want you to make, so you don't repeat my mistakes.

Marinette couldn't believe what she was reading

September 15, I forgot to set my alarm clock, and was late for school as usual in my life since I overslept.

Marinette was freaking out now.

'How did it know that!'

Marinette kept reading and read that there would be a new student in her class that day.

'A new student?'

A new student from California comes to my class. His name is Adrien Agreste. He sits in front of me.

At that moment Mrs. Bustier walked back in the room. "Okay class, quiet down everyone say hello to our new student Adrien Agreste he transferred here from California." Mrs. Bustier gestured to the boy standing next to her who had blonde hair and green eyes. "Now this is his first time living in Paris so make sure you make him feel welcome."

"It's nice to meet you all." Adrien said with a smile and Marinette went back and forth looking at him to her letter in disbelief.

"You can sit in front of Marinette Dupain-Cheng, she's over there." Mrs. Bustier gestured to Marinette. Adrien nodded and sat in front of Marinette next to Nino and Mrs. Bustier started teaching.

….

"Hay Marinette want to walk home together?"

Marinette looked up to see her friend Luka Couffaine walking up to her. It was now the end of the day and everyone was leaving. "Um sure." Marinette replied.

"Not so fast. I want to join. I love your parents' bread." Alya said from next to Marinette.

"Of course you can come too Alya." Marinette replied with a smile.

"I want bread too." Luka said playfully and the girls giggled. "Hey transfer guy Adrien right, come hang out with us." Luka called out to Adrien who was about to leave the classroom.

Adrien looked at Luka unsure. "Uh I kinda have a thing I have to do -"

"C'mon you can make awesome friends." Luka continued.

"Not to pressure you of course." Juleka Luka's twin sister said while walking over to the group.

"Yea Mr. Agreste don't you want bread from Marinette's bakery?" Alya asked playfully.

"Her parents' bakery actually." Nino corrected.

"It's really good." Luka added.

'Is this real?'

As Marinette's friend group continued to try to convince Adrien to join them Marinette started to read more of her letter.

Adrien turns down the invitation to walk home together. This is the one day I don't want you to invite Adrien, seriously.

"Okay just let me make a quick phone call." Adrien finally said. Everyone nodded before leaving the room except for Marinette and still on her seat Marinette saw Adrien make a phone call from the window.

'I wonder why it said not to invite him.'

"Hey Marinette, are you coming!" Luka called out from the hallway and Marinette got up from her seat and walked out.

The group went to the bakery to get some sweets then they went to the park to hang out.

"Okay now for formal introductions this is Nino Lahiffe, this is Marinette Dupain-Cheng, her best friend and Nino's girlfriend Alya Cesaire, my twin sister Juleka Couffaine, and I'm Luka Couffaine." Luka gestured to everyone as he said their names.

They started talking about random stuff and it didn't take long for Adrien to become part of their friend group.

'Look at that, I'm glad we invited him.'

"I swear the Dupain-Cheng bread is the best. Nothing else comes close." Alya said as they ate the baked goods. Everyone else nodded in agreement even Adrien did.

Soon everyone was saying goodbye and heading their own ways. When Marinette got home she went to her room and started writing in her diary forgetting about the letter.

When she was done she got a phone call from an unknown number and Marinette answered. "Hello?"

"Hey it's me Tikki from earlier have you been reading the letter?" Tikki's voice came from the other line.

"Oh right, the letter." Marinette took out the letter from her purse and she saw that everything she wrote in her diary was on the letter. "Who are you and what's this about?"

'They say the same thing even the writing is identical.'

"I'm a friend who will guide you to follow that letter. I hope you have been doing and not doing what it asks you to do/not do." Tikki replied before hanging up, not letting Marinette to respond.

..

The next day at school Marinette saw that Adrien was absent. "Adrien is absent today?"

"Looks like it. I should have asked him for his phone number." Luka replied.

"I wonder what's up." Marinette stated.

"Why so curious?" Luka asked playfully with a smirk.

Marinette blushed. "No reason!"

'After that day Adrien didn't come to school for a while… the letter… that day… I didn't do what the letter said. I wonder if it has something to do with why Adrien has been missing school. Maybe the answer is in here somewhere. Maybe it has the answer to why Adrien mystery disappeared on us.'

September 25th, the ball game tournament they asked me to be a pinch hitter for the softball game. I refuse and regret it later. Please, I want you to accept the pinch hitter request.

On September 25th Marinette walked to the school field with Alya and Juleka since it was sports day when she suddenly stopped seeing Adrien talking to some boys of the soccer team.

"Isn't that… hey Adrien!" Marinette called out. Adrien turned around and smiled at her.

"What's up Adrien!" Alya called out.

"Are you okay?" Juleka asked. Adrien smiled and just nodded.

The three girls sat down on the bleachers to watch Luka and Nino playing soccer when Adrien sat down with them. "What event did you sign up for?" Marinette asked him.

"I didn't sign up for anything?" Adrien replied.

"What why?" Marinette asked.

"Because I haven't been in class." Adrien replied.

"That shouldn't matter since you're here now." Marinette stated.

Adrien smiled. "What about you?"

"Softball." Marinette replied while rubbing her shoe.

"Does it bother you?" Adrien asked.

"Yea my shoes are a bit small." Marinette replied.

"Why are they small?" Adrien asked.

"When I ordered them they for some reason got my size wrong." Marinette replied. "And I missed my chance to bring it up."

"So I didn't know Luka and Nino played soccer.. Mostly." Adrien replied as he saw that Luka was great at soccer but Nino was having trouble with it. "Poor Nino."

"Cmon Marinette it's almost time for us to play." Alya said as she and Juleka were standing up.

"Coming… got to go." Marinette said before standing up and leaving with the girls. Adrien only nodded, not saying a word.

The other softball team changed their pitch hitter and Marinette suddenly remembered the letter.

'The letter…'

Suddenly every girl in her team was begging her to be the pitch hitter for the team.

'It's really happening.'

"Cmon all we need is for you to get one big hit and we'll totally win." Alya stated.

"You were in the softball team please." Juleka added.

'Two outs and the bases are loaded. If I get a hit we'll win but if I don't we'll lose..'

"I can't, I'm sorry." Marinette said looking down as her nerves got the best of her.

The girls started complaining. "Don't force her Marinette's foot is hurt." Adrien said, walking up to them.

"What hurt?" Alya asked surprised since she didn't hear Marinette's conversation with Adrien earlier.

"Well I wouldn't exactly say hurt, it's my fault anyway." Marinette replied.

"Then I'll try." Alya said proudly walking to the field.

Marinette thinks about the letter again.

'Why should I say no. The reason why I felt regret in the future was because I forced the responsibility on to Alya. I didn't do what I knew I could and someone suffered because of it.'

Marinette looked at Alya who was grabbing the bat and quickly stood up. "Wait, if you still want me to do it I'll do it." Everyone cheered as she took Alya's place.

'The pain in my foot will go away eventually but the regret won't go away. Not even in 10 years and I don't want that for the future me. I don't want to regret this discussion for the rest of my life.'

Marinette did a home run, winning the game for her team and everyone cheered for her. Though Adrien saw how much her foot was hurting her.

'Thanks to that letter my team won the softball game and so did the soccer team but that was all thanks to Luka.'

That evening Marinette was packing her things to leave when Tikki suddenly appeared next to her. "I see that you are following the letter good job and nice game."

Marinette jumped in surprise. "How did you get into my school?"

"Sports day was open for everyone in the city and I told you I would be your guide through this journey of following the letter."

"Why do I even need a guide to read a letter?" Marinette asked, confused.

"You must've noticed by now that everything in that letter comes true unless you change it. Every regret your future self has told you so far is minor compared to what's coming." Tikki replied. "And I'm here to guide you to the right path but it's up to you if you follow it."

"What is going to happen?" Marinette asked but Tikki just smiled and walked away.

Marinette sighed and started to walk.. Well kinda since her foot was hurting a lot. "Ambulance is here." Adrien said walking up to Marinette with a first aid kit.

Marinette waves her hands in front of her. "No, that's okay really!"

"Sit down there." Adrien said pointing to a bench of the school. Before Marinette knew it she was sitting on the bench and Adrien was looking at her foot. "You got a blister, I'll clean it for you. You really need to tell them that they got the wrong size."

"I know but still it's a bit too late to start complaining now I should have told them sooner. This is my fault I'll be alright." Marinette replied. "I prefer it this way, why should other people have to suffer because of a mistake I made. I don't want what I do to affect other people. No one can tell so what's the harm. This is how I always handle things."

"I know I see it." Adrien replied with a smile before standing up. "There all done. Take care Marinette."

"I will thanks." Marinette replied, smiling back with a small blush. Adrien started walking away when she suddenly remembered something she realized earlier. "What about you? If you want to play soccer, why don't you say something?"

Adrien looked at her with a smile. "The home run you made was impressive. I'll play next year in college. I'm actually better than Luka so make sure to watch me."

Marinette nodded. "I will, I promise." Adrien chuckles and walks away.

'Everything in that letter really does come true doesn't it.'

I fell in love with Adrien that day

'I wonder if the me in the future has one less regret now'

Marinette was sitting on a bench at the park looking at the city with a smile. "Marinette." Marinette looked at Luka who was walking up to her holding LJ and some flowers. "How about these flowers?"

"They're pretty, who are they for?" Marinette asked.

"For Adrien." Luka replied.

Marinette giggled. "I don't think he'll appreciate them."

"It's fine." Luka said sitting next to her.

To me of the past, 10 years ago. You've got a lot of happiness and joy ahead of you. I hope that you can sense that happiness. I hope you don't let it slip away from you. I'm writing because I don't want you, my 16th year self to carry these regrets with you for the rest of your life.

Now 10 years in your future Adrien is no longer with us. Don't lose what's important to you. Please keep a close eye on Adrien.
