February 14th. The day before Adrien dies. My parents went to my class to teach us how to make sweets for the occasion. We were separated from girls to boys. Dad took the boys to teach them how to make cinnamon rolls and mom took the girls to teach us how to make chocolates. Obviously I already knew how to do that already. I made chocolates for Adrien without letting anyone know.

On Valentine's Day Marinette's parents went to her class to teach them how to make some sweets for the occasion. Tom took the boys to teach them how to make cinnamon rolls while Sabine took the girls to teach them how to make chocolates just like how the letter said. The only difference is everyone knew that the chocolates Marinette was making were for Adrien since Marinette and Adrien were dating… Well Marinette hoped that they were but with him avoiding her lately she wasn't so sure.

"So who will you give your chocolates to Juleka?" Alya asked. The three girls were standing next to each other with Marinette in the middle.

Juleka blushed and mumbled. "I'm going to try to give them to Nathaniel."

"That's right with everything that has been happening this year. I totally forgot that you liked him. Well good luck girl, I'm obviously going to give my chocolates to Nino." Alya replied before looking at Marinette's chocolates which were obviously the best of the class. Marinette's chocolates were shaped like little kittens. "They are so cute Marinette, he's going to love them. Adrien really is lucky to have you. He needs to realize that soon and stop avoiding you."

"Good luck Marinette." Juleka told her with a smile. Marinette smiled back with determination in her eyes.

The plan was to give him the chocolate and tell him how I really felt but I couldn't start a conversation with him even though I had plenty of chances

Marinette wasn't going to confess to Adrien when giving him the chocolates since they were already dating… hopefully still… but she was going to take the chance to talk to him about him avoiding her lately and hopefully she can fix their relationship.. Or at least so they can still end up as good friends.

"Really you girls didn't make me chocolates?" Luka asked during lunch, acting offended since Juleka made chocolates for the boy she liked, Nathaniel Kurtzberg. Alya made chocolates for Nino her boyfriend and Marinette made chocolates for Adrien her boyfriend though Adrien didn't know that she did yet.

Marinette smiled and was prepared for this thanks to the letter. "Here you go, Luka." Marinette handed him a box of chocolates as the girls smiled.

Adrien was there too and to Juleka and Alya it was obvious that he didn't like that Marinette gave chocolates to Luka instead of him. In reality though Marinette made two patches of chocolates since her future self mentioned that Luka was the only one that wasn't given chocolates to by the three girls though he got plenty from other girls. Marinette decided to show Luka how grateful she was to him for everything he had done for her so she made a second patch of chocolates and the girls knew that.

"Uh thanks Marinette but I was only joking I already got plenty of chocolates from other girls." Luka replied.

"I know but I wanted to show you how grateful I am for everything you have done for me so please take it." Marinette stated with a smile.

Luka slowly took the box while glancing at the obviously upset Adrien. "Thanks Marinette, I appreciate it."

Marinette noticed Adrien's expression too and she frowned. It's not like she hasn't tried to give him his chocolates yet.

The first time was after the class. Adrien saw the box of chocolates that I was holding and asked me who it was for.

This time around the box Adrien saw Marinette holding was the box she was going to give Luka but he didn't ask her anything about that box.

'I have to be the one to make the first move.'

The second time was when Adrien was carrying chocolates that were given to him by many girls including Kagami.

Since Adrien was known to be dating Marinette, the girls that would have been the ones to give him chocolates didn't do it in respect of his relationship with Marinette. Though one girl did give him chocolates still and it was from Kagami but Adrien didn't know that since Kagami left the bag of chocolates in front of his locker and Marinette saw him walking out from the locker room holding the bag.

"Adrien." Marinette called out to him as she walked towards him. "Where did you get that?"

"I found it in front of my locker." Adrien replied. "Aren't these from you?"

"No." Marinette mumbled.

Adrien nodded and he looked disappointed. "Maybe they are from one of our friends of our grade."

'Or from an ex. Oh Adrien…'

The whole time Marinette was hiding the box of chocolates behind her back and even though she knew that this would most likely happen all of her courage inside of her drained when she saw him holding chocolates from another girl and before she knew it Adrien was walking away still holding the bag.

The third time was when Adrien was buying a drink from a vending machine.

Marinette ran to the vending machine where Adrien was supposed to buy the drink but he wasn't there and she sighed. Adrien was actually hiding behind a wall nearby since he heard her coming and at the moment he couldn't face her.

The fourth time was my last chance. After school Adrien told me 'good luck in giving it to him' then left.

Marinette knew that wasn't going to happen at least of what Adrien said because to Adrien Marinette already gave the box of chocolates to the boy she made for, Luka. Though this time Marinette was prepared she set up a plan to make sure that Adrien didn't leave without her being able to talk to him and give him the chocolates… though as the seconds went by she was getting more doubtful that it was going to work.

If I could do it over again, would I have succeeded in giving the chocolates to Adrien and telling him how I felt? Don't put off what you could do 'tomorrow' or 'someday'. For Adrien's sake do anything that you can do. Change the future good luck.

After school Adrien packed his things and left the class as Marinette stood up and tried to talk to him. "Adrien..." Marinette grabbed the box of chocolates and ran out the door.

"Should we go after them Juleka?" Alya asked her.

Juleka was going to respond but Luka beat her to it with a smile. "They'll be fine."

'Adrien.'

Marinette ran down the stairs but she tripped on the last step and bumped into Kagami as the box fell to the ground and got messed up and Marinette fell on her knees next to it.

"OW! Watch where you're going-" Kagami started but stopped when she saw who bumped into her and she smirked when she saw what was on the ground ruined. Marinette grabbed the ruined box and stood up. Marinette was about to walk away but Kagami stopped her. "You totally ruined that. Was that for Adrien your boyfriend? Is he even your boyfriend at all anyway? Lately I have seen him so distant toward you. I bet he got tired of you and if you two are still together then it's only because he doesn't have the courage to tell you that he's over you. Either way it's too late now to give them to him."

Kagami's words did hurt her but Marinette was not going to give up on Adrien. "It's not too late I'm going to see Adrien and fix our relationship so get out of my way." Marinette said with a stern tone and serious glare before walking past a surprised Kagami.

'The dumb chocolates doesn't matter anyway. I have to change the future. I have to save Adrien.'

Adrien was at his locker reading a note he found inside of it.

There's something I want to give you. Please don't go home yet.

Marinette ran in the locker room hiding the box of chocolates behind her back. "Adrien." Adrien looked at her. "Did you find the note that I left you? I have something for you but I don't have it now. I promise I'll give it to you though. Can you wait a little bit longer?"

"Don't worry about it. Please I don't need it. See ya." Adrien said before starting to walk away.

"Hold on, I want to talk to you then. Just a minute please, I don't want to regret anything anymore." Marinette blurted out and Adrien immediately stopped walking and looked at her with a frown.

February 15th. I got a final text from Adrien. He said that he felt bad about getting mad at me during New Year's eve. I replied to his text but I don't know if he read it or not. I want you to tell him what was in my reply.

"Adrien when I apologized to you the other day for the argument we had during New Year's Eve you said that we were good and still dating but since that day I know that you have been avoiding me. I just don't understand why." Marinette added.

Adrien looked away. "I have been avoiding you and it's because I hurted you during New Year's eve."

I'm not hurt.

"I'm not hurt though. I actually thought that I was the one guilty for hurting you." Marinette said softly. "And it was really hard for me to not be able to talk and be with you like before. I honestly don't care if I'm hurt or if we fight after all couples fight once in a while it should just make us stronger. I just want to talk to you and be with you like before. I should have told you sooner-" Marinette smiled softly as a few tears fell down her cheek.

I'm so sorry it's my fault.

"I'm so sorry it's my fault." Marinette finished, looking down.

Adrien walked up to her and put his scarf around her neck. "It's not your fault Mari. I was weak and scared so I ran. I was afraid I would hurt you and become someone I despised. I didn't want you to hate me in the process so I kept my distance but I guess I hurted you anyway by leaving you confused about where we stood which probably led you to be closer to Luka. I'm sorry for making you go through this…and you should know I wanted to get chocolates from you. When you asked me that day to hang out with you I was so happy. When you kept trying to talk to me…When you said good morning to me I was thrilled. To be honest I miss being with you Mari."

"Adrien with the Luka thing I only gave him chocolates because he has been such a great friend to me like a brother even but not because I like him or anything like that. After all I'm still in love with you." Marinette hugged him quickly since she was still hiding the chocolates behind her back and he hoped he didn't notice them since she was still holding them. "I miss you too. I thought that I knew you but I guess that I was wrong so I want to keep being with you and know you better especially of what makes you happy and what I can say to keep you that way. Tell me everything I want to be close enough to you so I can help you when you really need it."

Adrien hugged her back. "Thanks princess. I'm sorry that I didn't make you happy and I can't promise you that I can keep you happy in the future."

"As long as you're happy I'll be happy." Marinette replied with a smile.

"What if I lie and run away from you again?" Adrien asked.

"That's okay I don't mind." Marinette replied. "Don't be afraid to tell me everything."

"Marinette I hate myself and sometimes I just want to give up." Adrien mumbled as he starts to tear up. "I wish that I could be strong. I wish that I could be happy."

"So let's fix that together we can make you happy forever and that would make me happy too." Marinette replied. "Just don't give up, okay? Keep holding onto me."

"Okay." Adrien mumbled.

'I was terrified that if I got close to Adrien he would disappear. I thought if I touch him he might break.'

Adrien broke the hug and Marinette quickly put her hand that was holding the box of chocolates behind her back. Adrien smiled at her. "Mari, it's time. Give me that thing you're hiding behind your back."

Marinette looked at him surprised. "No, it's completely crushed."

"Who cares." Adrien replied. Marinette blushed and handed him the crushed pink box of chocolates. Adrien took it with a smile. "Thank you."

"Hey Adrien, did you guys make up now? Like really made up?" Alya asked as she walked over to them with the rest of the group.

"Marinette did give you the chocolates, right?" Juleka added.

Adrien gave them a sincere smile and a thumbs up. "Yes we did."

Marinette blushed with a smile as Adrien took her hand and she holded his hand back. The whole group smiled at them.

"Are you sure about this?" Juleka asked Luka as the group walked home while Adrien and Marinette went their own way to go on a Valentine's day date.

"My letter said if I told her how I felt she would turn me down anyway." Luka replied. "Besides, my future self is already living the dream. I'm fine with how things worked out. I believe that this world exists so Adrien can be happy."

"You seem really devoted with how this is ending." Juleka stated.

"Yup so please don't tell Marinette or Adrien anything about us being married in the future those letters come from." Luka replied.

"No problem but it's not like Adrien is safe though." Nino stated.

"He's close though." Luka replied.

February 15th. In the morning I met Adrien by the entrance. He said 'hey its cold today isn't it?' I replied 'yes it is cold.' That's the last time I talked to Adrien.

That morning Adrien went to the bakery so he and Marinette could walk to school together. It didn't matter that the school was across the street. "So do you have lunch plans?" Adrien asked Marinette with a blush as they walked to their lockers. "Want to eat with me, just us two?" Marinette smiled brightly and nodded.

'I won't allow today to be our last day. I swear.'

That day the whole group was acting very nice to Adrien, even giving him gifts. The truth was that even though the group had faith that everything would turn out okay, they still had the fear inside of them that Adrien was going to die that night so they wanted Adrien to know how much they cared about him and that they would always be there for him.

Later Adrien and Marinette had decided to have lunch at a bench that was in the school. "Are you cold?" Adrien asked her.

"No." Marinette replied with a smile. "It's actually nice out today."

"Yea, it feels great." Adrien replied before handing Marinette a treat. Actually, Adrien had a lot of snacks with him. "Alya and Juleka gave me these. They told me to eat them with you."

Marinette giggled. "Why this much?"

Adrien shrugged. "I don't know, everyone is acting weird today."

"Well I have something to give you too." Marinette said before handing him a homemade lunch as Adrien's eyes glowed in happiness as he took it. After the argument Adrien stopped receiving lunches from Marinette and this would be the first time since before winter break.

Adrien started eating when he noticed for the first time that day that Marinette was wearing the hairpin he gave her. "You're wearing your hairpin."

Marinette touched it with a smile. "Yes, though I call it my treasure since you gave it to me. I feel like everything you have done for me is a treasure but you're far more important to me than any gift."

Adrien blushed. "You're embarrassing me but please keep it up. By the way I wanted to tell you something too. I love you." He said with a smile as he looked at her.

Marinette blushed and smiled back. "I love you too." Without her realizing it a tear fell down her cheek and he wiped it off.

The accident happened that night after 8:00pm. It was at the intersection near Adrien's house. Apparently Adrien rode his bike in front of a fast driving truck.

"Will Adrien be okay on his own today?" Juleka asked the group as they saw Adrien at the vending machine.

"We could destroy his bike." Nino suggested.

"Seems a bit too much." Luka stated.

"What if we just wait for him at the intersection?" Juleka suggested.

"Yea let's do that." Luka replied.

"What are you guys plotting?" Adrien asked as he walked over to the group. Marinette was holding her letter and she quickly hid it in her purse.

"Here's a hint: we let you live." Luka said playfully. Adrien looked at him confused as everyone else laughed.

'I hope today is like any other day. I don't care what today is like. It can be boring, the best day ever or the worst day ever. As long as we're all here tomorrow. It would be perfect.'

"Just keep something in mind guys. Your letter could change the future of Adrien but it can't change your past." Tikki told the whole group. "Your regrets won't be erased. Once the past is altered a new world with a different future than this one is going to be created."

"So even if we achieve for Adrien to live with our letters we won't be able to see him because in this future he's dead and that won't ever change." Luka said in clearation and the guardians nodded. "Well that's okay this hasn't been about us I want to help him no matter what world he's in."

"Yea let's create a world where Adrien can finally be happy." Alya stated.

"Sounds good to me." Juleka added. "Might as well try."

Marinette nodded with a bright smile.

'We can send these letters to our past selves. I believe that we can save Adrien.'

That night after dinner Adrien suddenly had the desire to see some of the pictures of his mom so he walked in the kitchen where his aunt was washing the dishes. "Aunt Amelie, where are mom's photos?"

"All of her things are still in her room." Amelie replied.

Adrien nodded and walked in his mom's room where her things were still there. Adrien went to the closet and grabbed the box of pictures from the top but by doing that something else fell. Adrien put the box down and picked up what fell, which was his mother's phone. Adrien sighs and unlocked it to see the screen of her text messages.

Meanwhile the whole group was at the intersection near Adrien's house and they kept looking at their phones as the seconds went by and the hour 8 was getting closer. Everyone was hoping Adrien wouldn't go Marinette was even holding the hairpin he gave her tightly in her hands praying for a miracle.

'Don't come Adrien please don't come.'

It was later that day everyone went home to write their letter. Marinette finished writing her letter and gave it to Tikki. "Please save Adrien."

"It's not up to me it's up to you." Tikki replied with a smile. "But I promise to help as much as I'm allowed to." With that Tikki disappeared.

'If I could see Adrien. If I could see him one more time just once… I would want to meet him when he was a little boy. I would want to remember him as the happiest boy in the whole world.'

It was 8:10 and Adrien hadn't gone to the intersection yet. "He's not here and it's time." Luka stated after looking at his phone for the hundred time.

Everyone wanted to sigh in relief but they didn't want to get their hopes up just yet so they decided to go to his house just to confirm that he was okay with their own eyes.

"Actually he just left a little while ago he didn't say where he was going he suddenly just ran out and Felix went after him." Amelie told the group when they asked her if they could see Adrien.

The group freaked out and quickly ran away to look for him. Alya noticed a bike right next to the house. "Hey, that's Adrien's bike."

"This isn't anything like what was written in the letters." Juleka stated.

"I was afraid of this. We changed the future too much." Nino replied.

"What if we end up with the same future as our letters?!" Alya exclaimed.

"Calm down, let's split up and focus on finding him." Luka stated.

Marinette and Luka went in one direction while the other three headed to another direction but they were going to the same place, the intersection.

"Adrien!" Marinette yelled as she ran.

'What are going through right now? Please be okay.'

Nino called Luka and he answered. "We found Felix he lost track of Adrien but it's clear that he's headed to the intersection."

"Okay we're on our way." Luka said before hanging up and he as well as Marinette ran to the intersection.

'Please don't blame yourself. Please don't give up on me!'

Marinette and Luka arrived at the intersection and that's when she saw him. Adrien was just about to cross the street and for a split second his eyes locked into hers just as the truck passed her and it…

"ADRIEN!" Marinette exclaimed.

'No one can change the past. That goes for this world as well. I should have known there's no do overs. It's too late.'

The group saw as the truck made a shrinking sound as it tried to dodge Adrien and it kept driving as Adrien's body was laying on the ground. Felix wasn't there since he went to see how his mom was doing. This time he didn't see the accident.

The group ran to Adrien calling out his name. "Adrien are you okay? Adrien." Luka called as he turned Adrien so his back was touching the ground. A sob escapes Adrien as he slowly opened his eyes in tears.

Everyone sighed in relief. "Adrien you're alive!" They all said at the same time.

"What the heck were you doing in the road!? Why would you do that!?" Luka exclaimed as he and Nino helped Adrien walked to the sidewalk and sit on a bench as the girls followed them.

Adrien cried harder, hiding his face in his hands. "Because I wanted to die."

From now on I want you to have fun Adrien. I'm sorry for getting in the way…

"I thought if I could just apologize to mom… but I couldn't do it. I thought what you guys would think if I died, especially like this." Adrien looked up and looked straight at Marinette's eyes. "I thought what if I missed out on something great tomorrow and then I thought that I didn't want to die yet."

Marinette sat next to him and took his hand as he held her hand back. "Oh thank goodness."

Adrien wiped his eyes. "Sorry… but.." Adrien looked at them. "How did you know?"

"It was in the letters." Luka replied with a bright smile.

"What letters?" Adrien asked confused.

"The ones we got, from our guardians, that told us you were going to try to die tonight. They also gave us the information we needed to save you." Nino said straight forward and everyone looked at him blankly at how direct he was saying that. Nino just smiled and took out his letter.

Everyone took out their letters with a smile too. "We got messages from ourselves 10 years in the future." Alya added.

"In the future…" Adrien said in disbelief before looking at Marinette. "So that's the letter I saw Marinette with today… and Luka you said my aunt showed you a picture of me when I was little but when I asked her about it she said it was a lie."

"I saw it with the letter I got." Luka replied.

"And what do you mean by your guardians?" Adrien asked even more confused.

"That would be us." Tikki said as she and the other guardians walked up to them. "Hi Adrien I'm Tikki and they are Sazz, Roarr, Trixx, and Wayzz. We are from the future and came to give these guys the letters of their future selves so they could save you. We're actually their future selves guardians. Our past selves had to disappear so we could coexist in this timeline."

"So do I have a guardian?" Adrien asked.

"Yes his name is Plagg he was actually your cat when you were little but he had to run away because your mom was allergic to cat fur but he still kept his eye on you. Guardians aren't supposed to be seen by the people so with obvious reasons he can't come out and once the rest of us leave you guys won't see our current selves anymore." Tikki replied.

"Now that you guys saved Adrien it's time for us to go." Sazz stated.

"Thank you for everything." The whole group said with a smile.

"Of course and remember we'll always be here for you when you need us even if you don't see us." Trixx said as the guardians waved goodbye before disappearing.

"Hey you should know that we aren't the only ones that got messages from the future." Alya said to Adrien.

"They sent letters to you too." Juleka added before everyone handed him the last part of their letters.

He slowly took them one by one and when he reached Marinette she had a bright smile on her face as he took it and read them in the order he took them Juleka, Alya, Nino, Luka and finally Marinette.

Dear Adrien. Since the first day I met you I thought you were so strong I'm sorry that I didn't protect you.

I wanted to have so much more fun with you. I wanted to talk with you a lot more too but I thought we had all the time in the world to do that. I'm sorry.

I think all the time if I just did something different would you still be alive? I should have just always chosen what would make you have a good time. I'm sorry.

I never imagined losing you would be this painful and lonely. I'm sorry for taking you for granted.

I'm sorry that I couldn't save you. I wish I kept a closer eye on you. I'm so sorry I didn't realize how much pain you were in if we can have one more chance to make things right. We'll do everything in our power to protect you. Everyone feels a huge regret over losing you even after 10 years and I know this pain will never go away.

"This is my fault." Adrien mumbled. "I'm sorry."

"No it's not your fault." Marinette replied.

"Yes it is." Luka stated. "It was all your fault. If you die I'll never forgive you. I'm sorry we found out too late what would happen on our first day of school. I invited you I'm sorry it's my fault."

Adrien smiled softly. "Don't say that I was happy you asked me to hang out with you guys. Thank you all for being my friends." Adrien looked at Marinette and kissed the back of her hand. "Thank you so much."

Everyone hugged him in tears of joy.

I hope you can forgive us.

"By the way the letter said you would ride your bike tonight so why didn't you?" Alya asked Adrien as the whole group walked back to Adrien's house.

"Oh I was going to but it was broken." Adrien replied as he walked and held Marinette's hand. "It looked like someone trashed the thing."

"What? Why would someone do such a thing?" Nino said dramatically.

Everyone laughed. "Yea takes a wild guess to know who the culprit was." Luka said playfully.

I was still a high school student back then. I didn't understand how precious and important life really was. I was still a child. I want you to live. It's the spring of our 26th year we're at a beautiful field that we promised we would take you. The sunset is beautiful and I want to see it with you Adrien. We're all waiting for you.

A few days later the group was burying their time castle. This time they waited until after the 15th because they also wanted Adrien to have a future with them.

"So if there are parallel worlds doesn't that mean that there are different futures for us?" Adrien asked.

"Yup." Nino stated.

"So there's probably a future where Luka and Marinette are married." Adrien replied.

Luka was playing his guitar but when he heard that he immediately stopped. "No! No there isn't." Luka looked at Marinette and smiled. "But I wish there was one like that."

Marinette smiled back. "Me too."

Dear everyone 10 years in the future, how are you all doing? Are we still friends in the future? Do we still laugh like how we did back then? Do we have fun everyday? What am I doing at this moment 10 years from now? Am I still playing soccer? Am I married to Marinette? Am I truly living every single day?

"Are you okay Adrien you seem spaced out." Marinette said as they were walking to the bakery while holding hands.

"Yes it just feels good to be alive." Adrien replied with a bright smile and Marinette smiled back. "Thanks for saving me, I love you."

"And I love you, I always will." Marinette replied.

In the near future a 26 year old Marinette was at a beautiful field as she waited for her best friends to arrive and she was currently watching the flowers dance with the wind.

"Mari!" a voice called out from behind her and when she turned around she smiled seeing that it was her husband who was carrying two bags. "I got the drinks and cups."

"Thanks Adrien." Marinette replied with a smile.

"It seems like everyone will be arriving soon." Adrien stated with a smile.

"Adrien you forget someone back there." Luka said playfully as he walked over to them while holding a little boy with blue eyes and blonde hair. "The birthday boy."

"Here let me take Louis." Marinette said reaching over to her son but Louis didn't want to go with her.

Adrien laughed. "Louis loves his uncle Luka I don't think he'll go with you princess. He has always been like this."

Marinette giggled. "He's usually shy though."

"Maybe a walk will cheer him up." Luka said as he started walking away while still holding Louis.

"Sorry for causing you trouble Luka." Marinette stated.

"It's no problem at all." Luka called out.

Later the whole group was having a picnic together. "Cheers for Louis's birthday and our first reunion after a while." Alya stated.

"We had one last month." Nino mumbled.

Alya playfully glared at her husband. "Then cheers for Louis's birthday."

"Cheers!" Everyone said with smiles. Even Louis said it though in his own way and everyone awed at that.

"It's almost time isn't it?" Juleka suddenly asked.

"Yea let's pack up." Alya stated.

Everyone packed up before walking, with Adrien holding Louis, near a cliff and together they watched the beautiful sunset. "It's beautiful." Marinette said softly.

Adrien smiled looking at the sunset then at his family. "Yea it is I'm glad that I decided to live and experience this."

In the original future, It wasn't even 5 minutes since Marinette gave the letter to Tikki when Tikki appeared in front of her and Luka along with Sazz and they had a smile on their faces. "You did it, Adrien now has a future." Tikki stated.

Marinette hugged Tikki as Luka thanked Sazz. "Thank you for giving me this chance."

'If the day ever comes again when you feel like just being alive is painful we'll be there. Over and over and over again I'll always save you.'
