chapter 8 Wedding of Green Lantern and Hawkgirl
Things were hoping at the tower. Everyone was excited about Green Lantern and Hawkgirl's wedding. Many other heroes had joined the league. Everyone was excited for this big day. Things were being sorted out and such. "Alright things are all ready set up, and now we just have to wait for the rest of the guests to come, my family and Shayera's family, the green lantern corps, and few others." John said.
"Man John you going faster than I do at the moment," Flash said watching him.
"What do you mean by that?" John asked.
"I mean you are just zipping all over the place is all, trying to make sure everything is ready for the big day," Flash told him.
"Oh," Green Lantern said. "That makes sense," he said.
"Well it is a big step," Batman said he had shortly married Catwoman not too long ago.
"Yes is a big step and I sure am nervous," John said.
"Yep the big day is tomorrow and you look more nervous than a long tail cat in room full of rocking chairs," Metamorpho said. He was also married a short time ago to his fiancé and she was helping too.
Shayera was also plenty nervous about the big day.
Then the families on both sides had arrived. "Mom, dad," John said.
"There is our boy," his mom said.
"I bet you are nervous son, I was nervous as an ant in anteater family reunion." his dad said.
Shayera came up. "Mom and Dad you remember Shayera," John said.
"Good to see you again dear," his mother said.
"Nice to see you too," Shayera said.
The some more of John's family came in. "Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle James, this is Shayera," John said.
"Nice to meet you," they said.
Shayera's family came up. "Mom, dad, Katar, grandma and grandpa, these are John's relatives," Shayera said.
"Charmed to meet all of you," Shayera's father said. "Hello John," he said.
"Hello Mr. Hol," John said.
"Please call me Matoz," Shayera's father said.
"Okay," John said.
Then the green lantern corps came in too, along with a few more from planet Thangar.
Everyone was excited and the big day was tomorrow. "Come on we have to get ready for this," John said.
"We sure so," Shayera said.
They all went to bed to relax.
The next morning came quickly everyone was make sure everything was ready. John was getting ready as were the guy heroes Flash, Superman, J'onn J'onnz and Batman who were the groomsmen. Shayera was getting ready with the ladies help, Wonder woman, Catwoman and Sapphire were her bridesmaids.
Both John and Shayera were nervous about this but they were ready to go.
John was now standing at the altar with his groomsmen, Flash was the best man. Everyone was looking forward to the wedding. Flash noticed John's bowtie was crooked and fixed it. "There nice and straight." he said.
"Thanks," GL said.
Then Shayera came down the aisle with her father. He handed her to John. The wedding had started. "Friends and Family we are gathered here today to celebrate the union of two beloved people John Stewart and Shayera Hol." Dr. Fate said. "John Stewart do you take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife to have and to hold, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, for better or for worst for as long as you both shall live?" he said.
"I do," John said.
"Shayera Hol do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, for better or for worst, for as long as you both shall live?" Dr. Fate asked.
"I do," Shayera said.
Then John and Shayera placed the rings on each other's fingers. "I now pronounce you husband and wife you may kiss the bride," Dr. Fate said.
Shayera and Green Lantern kissed. Everyone cheered. "I present to you Mr. and Mrs. Stewart," Dr. Fate said and everyone was excited.
The reception was going great. Everyone was having a good time. They were was a lot going on.
Soon it was time for the newly weds to go out on their honeymoon. They were very happy and excited to go out and start their new life together.
