"Girl, I'm in love with you
But this ain't the honeymoon
We've passed the infatuation phase
We're right in the thick of love
At times we get sick of love
It seems like we argue every day

I know I misbehaved
And you made your mistakes
And we've both still got room left to grow
And though love sometimes hurts
I still put you first
And we'll make this thing work
But I think we should take it slow

We're just ordinary people
We don't know which way to go
Cause we're ordinary people
Maybe we should take it slow

Take it slow, oh oh, this time we'll take it slow
Take it slow, oh oh, this time we'll take it slow

This ain't a movie, nah
No fairytale conclusion y'all
It gets more confusing every day
Sometimes it's Heaven sent
Then we head back to Hell again
We kiss, then we make up on the way

I hang up, you call
We rise and we fall
And we feel like just walking away
As our love advances
We take second chances
Though it's not a fantasy
I still want you to stay

We're just ordinary people
We don't know which way to go
Cause we're ordinary people
Maybe we should take it slow

Take it slow, oh oh, this time we'll take it slow
Take it slow, oh oh, this time we'll take it slow
Take it slow

Maybe we'll live and learn
Maybe we'll crash and burn
Maybe you'll stay
Maybe you''ll leave
Maybe you'll return
Maybe another fight
Maybe we won't survive
Maybe we'll grow
We'll never know
Baby, you and I

We're just ordinary people
We don't know which way to go
Cause we're ordinary people
Maybe we should take it slow, hey

We're just ordinary people
We don't know which way to go
Cause we're ordinary people
Maybe we should take it slow

Take it slow, oh oh, this time we'll take it slow
Take it slow, oh oh, this time we'll take it slow
Take it slow"

It was early morning the next day and Gia stared upward to the ceiling, replaying this song for the hundreth time since last night. There were so many questions she had running through her head and she could barely get her thoughts organized. Did this mean that Norman wanted to get back together? Did it mean that he wanted to try again? And most importantly did it mean that he really did love her? Gia decided that she didn't want to read too much in to the song and wouldn't make assumptions until she spoke to Norman. She was feeling completely restless and couldn't stay in bed another second, though she'd hardly gotten any sleep as it was. She threw the covers off herself and immediately left her stateroom, careful not to slam the door behind her and wake Edgar and Jake. She briskly made her way to Norman's stateroom, quietly opening the door and poking her head inside. She saw Matt and Nick sleeping on the left side of the stateroom on their double bunk bed and then looked to her right to see Norman rolled over on his side facing the wall. She tiptoed over to his bunk, leaning over him.

"Norman" She whispered

Nothing...

"Norman" She tried again

Still nothing. She immediately became frustrated and shook him roughly

"Norman!" She whispered loudly.

He finally shot upright with an extremely tired and confused look on his face.

"What?..what happened?...what's wrong?" He asked already in damage-control mode, though he was still half out of it.

"We need to talk."

Norman stared at her, unsure if he'd just heard her correctly. She woke him up to talk?

"We need to talk?" he asked, unable to believe that that was why she woke him.

"Yes...Now."

Without another word Gia left the room and waited for Norman. She sat on top of the galley table and less than two minutes later he emerged wearing nothing but a pair of sweatpants. He had very toned arms and a muscular chest, which is something Gia had never realized because this is the first time she saw him without a shirt on. Norman, unaware of Gia's scrutiny, wearily rubbed his eyes as he leaned against the counter across from her. When he finally looked at her, Gia immediately felt bad, seeing how red and tired his eyes were and was almost tempted to tell him to go back to bed. But she decided against it.

"We need to talk." she said again, firmly.

"You've said that already." Norman said, a bit irritated about being awoken from his slumber.

"About the song..."

"Oh." Norman said, his lack of sleep immediately seeming less important "What about it?"

"I have questions."

"Okay...?"

"What does it mean?"

"What does what mean?" Norman asked confused

"The song." she said impatiently. Norman held her gaze for a long moment and Gia felt her heartbeat begin to quicken. Finally he spoke, his voice rugged.

"It means I love you."

Gia wanted to shout "Hallelujah!" and run and scream and jump in to Norman's arms. Instead she kept silent, waiting for him to say more. Norman sighed deeply.

"And it means that I'm sorry...about everything. I should've listened to you when you first tried to explain everything to me. I should've been there for you the moment I found out about your friend and I should have apologized. I never should've put you through the things I put you through. I was so wrapped up in myself I wasn't thinking about anyone else...not even the person who mattered most. I've never been in love before Gia...I don't know how to be a boyfriend. And when I thought you and Edgar slept together...I just..I lost it...I've never felt pain like that before and I didn't know what to do."

Gia sat in complete silence, though she could feel tears welling up in her eyes. Norman pushed himself off the counter and closed the short distance between Gia and himself. He placed his hands on either side of her face, and pressed his forehead against her own.

"The song means that we're just ordinary people. And sometimes we make mistakes, and sometimes we hurt eachother and fight and want to give up. But at the end of the day the loving makes it worthwhile. Loving you is the best thing I've ever done in my life and I want to try and make it work. And I think that we can do that, if we take it slowly, one step at a time."

Gia could no longer restrain the tears that had formed in her eyes and they spilled rapidly down her cheeks. Norman immediately kissed away each tear that had fallen before placing his lips to hers. The kiss was gentle, filled with love and remorse for time lost. Gia wrapped her arms around Norman's neck as if doing this would ensure that they'd never be apart again.

"Don't ever do this again.." Gia said through kisses and a trembling voice.

"I wont...Ever." Norman said, his voice low and rugged.

Gia held on to him tight and soon wrapped her legs around his waist. He ran his hands gently up and down her back, trying to soothe her.

"I missed you...so much." Norman whispered in her ear, causing a whole new batch of tears to form.

"I missed you too."

"I'm so sorry baby."

Gia nodded but said nothing as she ran her hands through Norman's hair. Neither of them was aware of the audience they'd now acquired.

"NASTY!" Edgar yelled from his stateroom door and both Gia and Norman were snapped from their trance. Norman turned to give his brother a glare, which Edgar dismissed as he made his way to the bedroom. "You guys are nasty."

"Your just jealous." Gia said, her head laid against Norman's bare chest.

"Absolutely..." Edgar muttered, rolling his eyes and shutting the bathroom door behind him. Norman gave Gia a few more kisses before they were once again interrupted.

"I told you the song would work." a sleepy Jake said smugly as he walked in to the galley. "Your welcome."

Norman rolled his eyes and gave Gia one more kiss before pulling away, knowing good and well they wouldn't have any privacy for awhile.

"Let's get breakfast started." Jake said as he began rummaging through the fridge. Norman went to his stateroom to go put on a shirt and Gia began to help Jake with breakfast. He nudged her playfully and she smiled. Despite everyone's perception of them as being celebrities because of the show, they were just ordinary people, getting through life one day at a time.
