It's been an action-packed day for Ash and Pikachu as they have dealt with more trouble than any rival or enemy has ever given them. Now, it's a new day for Team 5Ds, as Ash called them this morning and everyone has received their morning meals. Pikachu was already done with his meal and noticed Rathie outside the tent. He decided to head over to check on him, as he was focusing on a computer device. "Oh, you must be Ash's Pikachu, right?", Rathie says with a little surprise in his voice. Pikachu shakes his head and asks him what he's working on. "I'm just working on a little store for all of the competitors here, little one," the owner says with a smile. He explains that duelists now have a virtual currency called Duel Points or DP and can gain more through more dueling. Now, as the tournament continues to go on, duelists can use these DP to purchase Booster Packs. With the addition of new boosters, duelists can gain brand new cards and enhance their decks with them. As Pikachu relayed the information to the others, the entire group takes a look at the PDA where they can see the new store link for them to access. As they all open their first packs, everyone displayed different looks and emotions as they pulled new card after new card. Rathie joins the excitement as the entire group gave him their approval for this new digital store.

As Ash and Pikachu help clean up the meals, Yusei looks on at a person that's coming rapidly towards their tent. "Is that... Trudge?," Yusei exclaims as the man trips at the mention of his name. As Yusei helps him up, the others are set up for the new person that has appeared. "Oh man...", Crow says as he looks at the shape of Trudge's outfit, "Looks like you need a new uniform, Officer." Trudge nods as he looks at the entire team in thanks. He also notices the new people which were, of course, Ash and Pikachu. "I've never seen you around in these parts, young man," the officer says in a deep voice, "And nor have I seen a creature like that, is that a new Duel Monster?" "No, sir, it isn't," Ash says as he and Pikachu shake their heads, "The name's Ash Ketchum. This is my Pocket Monster, or Pokémon partner, Pikachu." As Trudge looks at Pikachu, he smiles a bit, "Gotta say, young man, you've raised him very well. He's in perfect condition as far as I'm concerned." Pikachu then jumps over and nuzzles against the officer's left leg, getting a pat on the head from Trudge in response. Pikachu then notices an item sparking on his belt, "Pardon me, Trudge. Looks like an item of yours isn't working." Trudge, surprised by the words coming from him, nevertheless finds the item in question. "It's my camera," Trudge says with a sad frown, "I was taking photos of something interesting when some crook rushed me from behind. Probably fried my camera while I was down for the count." As he hands it to Yusei, the leader looks at it with curious eyes. "Looks like the batteries are fried and the lens inside broken," Yusei says as he and Crow work on fixing the camera. As the two notice the special rechargeable batteries needed more power, Pikachu immediately comes over. "Hey, whaddya doing, little buddy?" Crow says as he notices the mouse going near the dead batteries. Pikachu then places himself near the batteries and sparks them for a quick few seconds. The duelists are impressed as Crow looks at the status of the batteries on a separate monitor. "Wow, you sure helped us in that department," Yusei smiles as he places the batteries back into the camera. Trudge smiles as he looks at the camera, fully repaired, and good as new.

"OK, now, let's see if the data is still there," Trudge says as they all head back to the tent. The officer smiles as he looks at the data and photos he's taken, "Whew... talk about luck, I didn't lose everything stored in here during that incident." As Ash looks at one of the photos, he notices something odd, but familiar. "Hey, that silhouette...", Ash says as he looks at the strange photo, "Ain't that... Chief Armstrong?" As everyone sees the same photo, they all agree on what Ash said. "Guess he never learned his lesson, did he?" Leo says as he looks at Luna for support. "It's not just you, I agree with what you said," Luna says with a frown. Trudge then looks at a pouch that has been scratched. "If that's the case...," Trudge says with a grimace, "Then we gotta search for him." Ash nods as he takes out his duel disk and places it outside the tent. As he moves away, he takes out the "Start" Card from his left side pouch. "Alright, Duel Runner, Let's Start it Up!", Ash calls out as he tosses the card at the device. It then transforms into the full Duel Runner and impresses the crowd. "Need a ride, Officer?," Ash says as Trudge looks at the Duel Runner with impressed eyes. He nods as he gives Yusei a phone before heading to the vehicle. "I'll take Ash to the area," Trudge says as he looks into the Duel Runner, "In the meantime, we'll communicate through the phone I've given ya." The team nod as Ash, his Pikachu, and Trudge head off for the area. As Ash drives the Duel Runner, Trudge gives directions as to where Trudge was knocked down. Pikachu also chimes in by using a couple of sparks to light the way, until they stop as the group reaches a broken Duel Runner. "Oh man...", Trudge says quietly as he looks at his gray vehicle, busted up, battered, and has almost all of the Police markers pulled and shattered off. Pikachu looks at the damage and has the same reaction, "My goodness, if that's Armstrong's doing, he did a number on this." As Ash looks at the computer, near the system is an exposed green card. "Is this a Duel Monsters card, Trudge?" Ash says as he looks at it with curious eyes. Trudge looks at it and nods, "It is, young Ash, that's a special kind of card though, it's called Speed World." "...You're gonna need it against me!", a voice says as it somehow knocks Trudge off his feet. "Not again...", Ash says as he locks and loads Trudge in the Duel Runner and has Pikachu joining the two. "Let's get him or her, Ash!," Pikachu calls out to his partner as they drive off, headlights on his runner and all eyes on the speeding runner in front of them. "Ash... thanks again," the officer says as he sits up and looks at the vehicle in front, "Armstrong... it is you..." As the worn Armstrong laughs, he speeds off, prompting Ash to go faster. "Hey, little Pikachu, activate the card you have in your hands!", Trudge says as he points to the card the mouse just grabbed. "OK, Officer," Pikachu calls out, "To help us deliver Swift Justice, I activate Speed World!" As Pikachu inserts the card into a slot above the central console, the computer recognizes it and proclaims this:

"Speed World Card recognized, Duel Mode engaged, Autopilot Standing By, Overriding Opponent's Duel Runner."

The area's black walls turn into an intense shade of purple as both duel runners spawn dueling fields on both computers. At the same time, Armstrong's vehicle slows down and comes near Ash's Duel Runner. This causes the chief's face to turn red in anger and frustration. "OK, fine," he says grumbling through his teeth, "Alright, Ash, if you want a Turbo Duel... Then, suit yourself!" As Ash looks at his field, Armstrong notices something on the computer. "That's not what I usually see for Turbo Duels...", Trudge says as he looks at the computer field and Ash. "What do you mean, Officer? Is something wrong?", Ash calls out to the officer. Trudge then explains that Turbo Duels are like regular duels, but they have some differences. One of which is called Speed Counters, which is a currency for Speed Spells. The Speed Spells are like regular spell cards, but they require these Speed Counters to be at a certain amount. However, as Armstrong points out to Ash, there are no Speed Spells in both duelist's decks. Despite this, they still have Speed Counters. As Ash looks at the computer, he notices a new set of rules for the Turbo Duels. The computer shows these rules about the Turbo Duels:

1)What's the difference between Turbo Duels and Regular Duels?: Throughout the duel, both duelists will gain and lose their Speed Counters as well as their starting total of 8000 Life Points.

2)Gaining Counters: In every Standby Phase, both duelists will gain one Speed Counter. When a player Normal Summons a monster, they gain two Speed Counters. When a player Synchro Summons, they gain three Speed Counters. A duelist can only have a minimum of 0 and a maximum of 12-speed counters in their Speed Bank.

3)Losing Counters: Whenever a monster is destroyed by any method, the owner of the destroyed monster loses 1 Speed Counter from his/her Speed Bank.

4)Turbo Skills: When it's their turn, Players can use their Speed Counters to activate skills called Turbo Skills. Each skill requires a certain amount of Speed Counters to activate.

5)Winning Conditions: 1)Reduce your Opponents' Life Points to 0. 2)Make your opponent's deck run out of cards. 3)Your opponent can't go any further because their Duel Runner has crashed or broke down. 4)You reach the goal for the race if there is one.

"Wow, that's very interesting," Ash says as he looks at the info for these new duels. Trudge is interested in the new Speed Skills and new ways that duelists can earn the counters necessary for them. Pikachu is just focused on the opponent in front of them. "Shall we get started then, Slowpoke?!," Armstrong mockingly calls out to Ash, which everyone on Ash's Duel Runner gets irked. Ash immediately draws his starting hand and looks at the track. "Looks like it's time to take this duel into overdrive!", Ash calls out as the duel began on Turn 1. As Armstrong makes the first move, he grins at his choices. He starts by setting a face down in the back row. Then he activates a Normal Spell, Reinforcement of The Army, and grabs a Level 4 or lower Warrior-Type Monster with the effect of the spell. However, as he reveals the monster, Trudge's expression changes. "You rotten thief, that's MY Search Striker!", he yells in fear and anger. Ash's Pikachu looks at the opponent and the passenger, the thoughts starting clicking and linking in his head. "So you attacked him and then stole his deck?!", Pikachu said in anger as Armstrong laughs at the accusations. "I simply did what I have to do, you pathetic pest!", he responded with a cocky grin, "It's all to please the true masterminds of this island and to get revenge on your owner!" Ash then readies himself after Armstrong sets a monster and ends his turn. It's now Ash's turn and the 2nd turn of the overall duel. The speed counters for both duelists are now at two apiece, as well as with no life point changes at all. Ash draws for the start of his turn and activates his Pot Of Greed, which brings him two more cards to his hand. He then does his set of cards, which includes one monster and one facedown in the back row. "It's an even field, Ash," Trudge says as he looks at the fields of both players. Pikachu looks at his partner and Ash looks back at him, both have determined eyes. With both duelists now at 3-speed Counters, it's now the 3rd turn of the duel. Ash's Team now looks at Armstrong, who now starts his turn with a summoning of Search Striker. With the Normal Summon, Armstrong's speed counters increase from 3 to 5. He then strikes at Ash's facedown monster, which just pops off the field. As Ash and Pikachu look in surprise, Trudge then explains the effect of Search Striker. "Ash, that happened because of Search Striker. When he attacks, if he attacks a facedown monster, it'll automatically be destroyed. The downside of that is the monster has to go to DEF mode till the end of the turn." Trudge also explains that the only way to change its mode would be to use a card effect. But what was coming next would be terrifying for Ash. "Alright, let's just see what that facedown is...", Armstrong says as he activates a button on his computer. The computer then shows a skill being used by Armstrong, "Speed Skill: Using 3 Speed Counters, look at one face down card on the opponent's field." The only back row card that Ash has is revealed to be the trap card, Gift of the Mystical Elf. Ash grits his teeth as a piece of his strategy are revealed. The 4th turn of the duel has Ash summon a new monster, Skilled Dark Magician. With the normal summon, Ash's speed counters rise to 5. "I guess you got that from the booster packs, Ash?," Trudge asks the young speeding duelist. Ash looks back and nods with a smirk, "Of course, plus, with this spell card. The Warrior Returning Alive, a combo is about to ensue." He was right, with The Warrior Returning Alive, he could bring a Warrior back from the grave, such as his Big Shield Gardna. As if that wasn't enough, when a spell is activated, Skilled Dark Magician has his ability activated, which gives him a Spell Counter. "I'm about to add another Spell Counter and then some, with these two face downs...", Ash says before activating another spell card, "I now equip my Magician with the Equip Spell, Mage Power!" Pikachu activates the computer for the necessary data and is shocked by the boost of power gained from the spell. With the equip spell, the equipped Spellcaster gains 500 ATK and DEF for each spell in the back row. The Skilled Dark Magician has a base of 1900 ATK and 1700 DEF. However, with the 3 cards in the back row, 1500 ATK and DEF are added. With the bonuses applied, the totals for Ash's magician are now 3400 ATK and 3200 DEF. "Go get 'em, my ally!", Ash commands as the magician strikes with a dark energy blast at Search Striker. Armstrong then loses ground on his Runner as the monster heads to the grave in defeat. "Grr... try this!," Armstrong says as he throws a fistful of small stones at the Trainer who spins out of control for a few seconds. At the sudden change, the computer shocks him with an electric surge and a penalty that comes along with it. "Armstrong has disrupted the duel, The Penalty is the loss of half of the owner's LP, Armstrong is now at 4000 LP." As Armstrong looks at Ash, who on his Duel Runner is looking angry at the actions he did, they reach a checkpoint on the schematics of the track they are on.

These are the stats for the two duelists as the 5th turn is coming around:

Armstrong: 4000 Life Points, 1 Speed Counters in Speed Bank.

Ash: 8000 Life Points, 5 Speed Counters in Speed Bank.

The only question now is, how will Ash adapt as the race continues against a former and now crazed cop?
