It was a cloudy afternoon in the town of Magnolia, and in a famous guild called Fairy Tail, a certain blonde-haired Celestial mage was sitting at the bar in deep thought when a white-haired Take-over mage noticed her.
"Hey, Lucy. What are you thinking about?" the woman asked as she approached the troubled girl. She noticed the troubled look on the blonde's face since she arrived at the guild.
"Oh, hey, Mira. I'm thinking of going on a solo mission," Lucy said, smiling a the older girl.
"That's great! Going on solo missions will be an excellent opportunity for you. You will be able to finish a job without destroying anything, you'll know your weak points, and experience is the best teacher. The best out of all the pros of going on a solo mission is the rewarding feeling you'll get when you complete the job," Mira said, giving the younger woman a warm smile. She knows that the blond woman will become stronger because of her experience.
"Thank you so much, Mira," Lucy said smiling, feeling all fired up, thanks to Mira's pep talk.
"I'm glad I can help you, Lucy. Then you should go and pick one while new job requests are freshly posted on the board," Mira said, feeling happy since she was able to motivate the other girl.
Mira remembered what happened last week. Unfortunately, the master temporarily disbanded Team Natsu because of the destruction and damage they caused in just a month. The master's office has been receiving non-stop complaints that he can't ignore anymore. The master also temporarily forbade the team from partnering with someone in the same group since they can still cause extensive damage. Natsu and Happy are exempted, of course.
Lucy stood up from the bar stool and went to the Job Request board to look for a job she could handle. As she scanned the papers, something caught her eyes. One of the missions on the board says, ' Strange spirits are appearing and taking over in a small town near Oshibana. Please help capture the spirits. Reward: 200,000 and 1 Platinum key'
- Somewhere in Another World -
The world has entered a new age. Harmonic convergence created an energy shift that had never been felt before. And in two weeks, Republic city continues to recover from the Avatar's battle with UnaVaatu. Vines have sprouted up all over the city, creating pockets of wilds the spirit has to call home.
Located in Yue Bay are two islands. One consists of the previous Avatar's memorial, which is called Aang Memorial Island, and the other island is the Air Temple Island, which is the home of the family of the last air benders.
Somewhere in the Air TempleI Island, a man in his 50s is seen running after a flying blue-colored furry spirit with a body structure of a bunny with a pair of wings instead of floppy ears. "Come back, Bum-Ju!" the man shouted as he ran after the spirit. He pants as he climbs up a tree near a cliff. The spirit stopped, hovering over a tree branch as he looked at the man, making chirping sounds.
"If you don't want to wear the sweater I made, that's fine. I'm sorry I got mad," the man told the spirit, clinging to the tree's branch as he moved closer to the spirit.
The man tried to reach for the spirit, but the branch moved like it would break any minute. "Bum-Ju, I'm running out of tree. Can we go down now?" the man pleaded, visibly scared of what might happen.
The man's eyes widened as the branch broke because of his weight. The man slipped down the branch, but he was able to hold on to the tip of the branch. Good thing the branch didn't break off the tree yet. "Bum-Ju, a little help?" he asked his furry friend as he panicked.
The furry spirit bites the man's jacket, trying to prevent him from falling. The tree branch did not break, but unfortunately, the man slipped off the branch and his coat, screaming as he kept falling. He closed his eyes, screaming and flailing his arms. As he kept on moving his hands, wind came out of his hands out of nowhere, stopping him from hitting the ground. He wondered why he didn't hit the ground yet, so he opened his eyes and was shocked by what he was doing. He was, shooting wind out of his hands, amazed at what he was doing.
"Look! I'm air bending!" the man said excitedly. Then the wind suddenly stopped, and he fell face-first on the ground. " Wow, that still hurt a lot," he said, with his butt lifted in the air.
- Somewhere in the Republic City -
Three people with different spirits following them walked in a vine-filled place. In the lead is a tanned woman wearing blue tribal clothes, while the two behind her are wearing red and yellow robes.
"How are we ever gonna clear away all these vines?" the woman in tribal clothes asked rhetorically, then she swirled around the staff she was holding and took a step back with her palm facing a building covered with vines as fire came out of her palm and through the vines, burning the vines. But new vines crawled back into the building.
The woman scoffed and frustratedly said, "I don't get it! I can vanquish Vaatu but not a bunch of stupid vines?" and then walked away.
"I'm sure you'll find a way," a bald guy with a blue arrow tattoo on his head said, encouraging the girl, one of the two people wearing a robe.
"Why do you wanna get rid of them? You changed the world. We've connected with the spirits again. The wilds are their home," a little girl asked as she petted one of the spirits, the other person wearing a robe.
"I don't think the people who used to live here are as excited about it as you are," the woman replied to the girl with a slight smile on her lips.
- Small Town in Oshibana -
Lucy's POV
I just met my client, the client is the village chief, and the reason the chief wants the spirits gone is due to the spirit population getting bigger by the day, and they attack the villagers. The villagers tried to scare them away, but it didn't faze the spirits. They also tried to catch them but couldn't. Another piece of information I got is that the spirits are found in the forest and they also glow in the dark.
As I walked around town, I remembered what had happened yesterday. I was looking at the Job Request board when I saw a mission with a reward of one Platinum key, and without a second thought, I told Mira that I'd take it. I guess I am really weak when it comes to keys. Though I never knew that there are Platinum Keys. I can't help but feel excited just by thinking of the key.
"I can do this!" I smiled to myself, trying to reassure myself, but I couldn't shake off the feeling of something off. I am a mage of Fairy Tail, and I should be able to do this. Now I need to focus on checking around the village before going into the forest.
After checking the village, I finally went into the forest even though it would be dark soon. I walked and walked and walked, but I couldn't see anything, even a tiny frog or an insect. Out of nowhere, I saw something glowing in the distance. That must be one of the spirits, finally. I approached the glowing light as quietly as possible. To be cautious, I have one hand on my keys and the other on my Fleuve d'étoiles.
As I approached the shining light, I still kept my guards up just in case someone or something attacked. After a few seconds, glowing light starts appearing around me. It seems like other spirits start glowing, one after another. As I looked around, I saw a spirit that looked like a frog, another that looked like a fluffy bunny with wings as ears, and another that looked like a giant carrot. There were so many for me to handle, but I knew I could do this. They don't look harmful at all, but looks can be very deceiving. As I observed them, it seemed they were going in the same direction. If I followed them, they might lead me to their source, so I did. It looks like the spirits haven't sensed me yet as they watch them keep on walking. The spirits in front stopped in their tracks. It seems like they have reached their destination. They were gathered around something. I couldn't see anything, so I went closer as I got closer. I caught a glimpse of a spirit, but it looked hurt.
I frowned at the sight and whispered, "What happened?" I wasn't expecting an answer, but a voice replied beside me," Humans."
The sudden reply made me jump out of my hiding spot and squeal. The other spirits looked in my direction after hearing my squeal. "I'm s-sorry disturbing you," I stood up properly and gave them a bow.
"What are you doing here, human? Are you going to capture us? Kill us? You humans already hunted some of our brothers and sisters!" a voice growled in front of me. I could feel the hatred in its voice. I couldn't see who was talking since I was still bowing. I stood back up to look at the owner of the voice.
"What do you mean?" I was told the spirits were the ones attacking.
"Don't act confused! Were you sent to capture us, aren't you? So you could experiment on us!" a human-sized lemur said, stepping out of the crowd with an enraged look.
I took a step back and held my arms up, showing my empty hands. "I'm sorry, I was told that you were the one attacking the villagers."
The lemur scoffed. "We peacefully lived in the forest when humans started catching spirits. The only reason we are still here is because we couldn't go back to our home, so we started defending ourselves. Those humans lied to you," the spirit said, crossing his arms.
"Why can't you go back home?" I asked, standing there. I could feel the spirit wasn't lying since they hadn't attacked me or done anything funny.
"One of the humans who attacked us took a key from us. It was the key that will bring us back home, to the spirit world," the spirit explained.
"I'll help you," I told the spirit.
The spirit's eyes widen from shock.
"I am a Fairy Tail mage, and as a Fairy Tail mage, I will help those who are in need," I smiled at the spirits.
"Oh really now?" a voice said somewhere behind the trees. I could hear the spirits growling. "Your job is to capture them, not help them," the voice added. It sound's like one of the chief's guards.
"You lied! I will never help someone who would harm others!" I shouted, angry for being deceived. The owner of the voice came out of one of the trees with a wicked grin. Damn this bastard.
"I'll wipe that disgusting grin on your stupid face! Star Dress: Taurus Form!" my body glowed for a bit, and when the light faded, my clothes changed to a bra and sleeves with a cow pattern and pants that left my right leg exposed. I also have a pair of gloves and boots as well as a belt where Taurus' Zodiac sign is located and a bag around my waist. While my hair is styled in two buns, one on each side of my head and also leaving some hair hanging. I also carry a whip in this form.
"You think you can take us?" the man scoffed.
I could hear the spirits growl around us. "Earth Wave!" I strike my whip near the man's foot, causing the ground to rupture, making the man hit a tree behind him.
"Attack!" the man shouted as other people came out from their hiding spots.
"Attack!" the Lemur spirit shouted as they charged toward the people in front of us.
"Open Gate of the Lion, Loke!" a golden light appeared and revealed a man wearing an elegant dark suit, with the jacket left unbuttoned and the loose pants held up by a light-colored belt, over a lighter shirt with a red tie, plus dark shoes.
"Your Prince Charming has arrived," Loke said as he winked at me.
"Kick those horrible people's asses, please!" I commanded him as I pointed at the people fighting the spirits.
"Your wish is my command," he said as he charged at them.
As he left, I saw the man I had attacked earlier capturing helpless spirits, so I lashed his wrists using Fleuve d'étoiles to avoid hurting the spirits he grabbed. As the end of my whip wrapped around his wrists, I pulled him towards me.
"Black flame of Hell!" the man shouted as black flames shot out of his palm towards me. I jumped out of the way and ran around him before kicking him in the back. Since I am still in Taurus's form, I was able to knock him out. That was easy than expected. With his wrists still wrapped with my whip, I pulled him to a nearby tree and hanged him so he won't get out. I went to the cages the man placed the spirits and let them out.
"Thank you," they said.
I looked in Loke's direction to check how he was doing, and it seemed like he was almost done with the other guys. The other spirits already took down the other guys and tied them together. Loke finished his part by tying up the people he beat up.
"I'll summon Taurus so he could carry these guy's back to the village and lock them up while waiting for the soldiers to get them. I also need to check on my so-called client," I told Loke.
"Okay, Lucy. I'll see you later," Loke gave me a smile before disappearing with gold light.
"We'll come with you," the lemur spirit said, and I gave him a smile and a nod.
"Open gate of the Golden Bull, Taurus!" there was a golden flash. When the light disappeared, an enormous, heavily muscular humanoid whose physical features are highly reminiscent of a bull appeared. His body is covered in a black and white pattern, and a giant double-sided ax is strapped on his back.
"Nice to see your hot body, Miss Lucy!" the perverted bull said with heart-eyes.
I ignored his statement, "Could you help me carry these unconscious bodies back to the village, please?"
"Anything for Miss Lucy's hot body!" Taurus said as he picked up two groups of unconscious bodies.
I pulled down the man I hanged earlier, who was still unconscious, and pulled him back to the village. The spirits walked behind to look after the man. When we arrived back in the village, I saw the village chief running away, but before he could, I struck my special whip just near him, making him stop.
"I'm s-sorry, please let me go! It wasn't my plan," the old man pleaded.
"Lier!" one of the spirits shouted.
"We heard you giving the instructions for capturing the other spirits!" another spirit shouted.
One of the spirits kicked his face making him pass out. They tied his hands and feet and then pulled him in our direction.
"I found a building with cells. It must be where they lock up the spirits they captured before," the lemur spirit said, a hint of sadness in his voice.
"Lead the way," Taurus said, the unconscious body on his shoulders.
The lemur led us into a building with cells just like he told us. We placed the unconscious bodies inside the cells and locked them up except for the village chief. We tied the older man to a chair.
I took a good look around the place, and I could see machines for experimental purposes. These bastards, how can they be so cruel! They made my blood boil.
"You can go back now, Taurus. Thanks for the help! Tell Loke, thank you," the giant bull gave me a salute and a smile before disappearing.
"What are they?" the lemur spirit asked.
"My Celestial spirits, don't worry. I don't treat them as my tools but as my family. I treasure them with all my heart," I gave him a reassuring, warm smile. "I'll check the man's pockets for your key." I walked near the unconscious man and checked his clothes. I felt something from one of his pockets and reached for it. It was a platinum key with four weird symbols.
"That's the key!" the lemur spirit said happily, but before I could hand over the key to the spirit the key started glowing.
The light kept glowing brighter until the room was filled with golden light, and everything went black.
