Korra's POV
A lot of things happened in just a few days. Journalists are non-stop asking what I am going to do with the vines. It's not that easy. They aren't even thankful that I saved the city from the evil spirit. And that good-for-nothing President puts all the blame on me for the vines and spirits, while he just orders people around. He also wanted me to leave Republic City. I can't help but grimace in annoyance. They don't even know what it feels like to be the Avatar. I let out a sigh and smiled as I remembered the brighter side. On the bright side, we were also given something good by the Harmonic Convergence, Airbenders. The other night we found out that Bumi can airbend and another man from the Republic city. And now, my mission is to find Airbenders and rebuild the air nation.
I felt a hand on my shoulder. "Hey, are you alright, Korra? You've been making different faces for a while now," the owner of the hand asked. It was Bolin with a worried look. I gave him a reassuring smile and nodded.
I looked around and saw Bumi, Bolin, Kya, Pema, Rohan, Jinora, Meelo, Ikki, and Tenzin. We were waiting for the airship in the distance to get nearer.
When the airship was just at the proper distance, some people tied the airship to prevent it from moving away. Once the airship was in place, the door opened and revealed a beautiful raven-haired woman with light green eyes.
"Did someone order a fully-equipped Future Industries airship?" Asami said, smiling with her hands on her hips.
"It's perfect. Thanks, Asami," I said, happily smiling at her.
"I figured if we're going to Ba Sing Se to search for Airbenders, we should do it in style," she said.
"Yay! Airship!" Meelo shouted with excitement.
"I wanna see!" Ikki said as she rode an airball towards the ship.
"Come on, Poki!" Meelo followed after with his friend lemur.
"While you guys are gone, Pema and I will hold down the fort," Kya said as she stood beside Pema, who was holding her baby. "Who's excited to spend some time with your auntie Kya?" she said as she picked up the baby and lifted him up in the air, and then the baby threw up on her clothes. "Oh," her smile gone in a second.
"Aww, he likes you," Pema said, smiling warmly and patting the baby's back. Kya waterbends away from the puke from her clothes.
In the distance, I saw a man wearing a red scarf around his neck. It was Mako walking toward us. I walked towards him to meet him halfway.
"Mako, I'm so glad you're here," I smiled, glad that he came.
He gave me a smile and gave me something that was slung on his back earlier. "Of course, Korra. Avatar, Avatar Korra. Once I received your message. I proceeded to contact various locations within the Earth Kingdom as ordered by you, the Avatar," he said a bit awkwardly.
I gave him an amused smile and said," Right, the Avatar thanks you for your loyal service." Mako looked away, and I asked, "Di you find any more leads?"
"There are reports of Airbenders popping up all over the Earth Kingdom. I marked the villages on this map. You guys can take it with you," he said as he handed me the container containing the map.
"Actually, I was kind of hoping you could come too," I said, frowning a little.
"Really?" he asked and looked away. " Um, it's probably better if I sit this one out," he added.
"I know things have been weird between us since we broke up, but you're a part of Team Avatar, and we can't do this without you," I replied softly.
"I'm sorry, I can't," he answered, then walked away.
Third POV
"I'll miss you, sweetie," Pema told her husband and gave him a peck on his cheek.
"I'll miss you too. Once we find the Airbenders, I'll send word. You can join us at the Northern Air Temple then," Tenzin said affectionately to his wife, but a girl's complaint cut off their moment.
"Hey! How come Jinora gets to go with you, but we don't?" a little girl complained as she and a little boy went near their parents riding an airball.
"That is so not fair," she said as she grumpily folded her arms.
"Yea, what this girl said. Not fair," the little boy frowned, pointing at her sister, then crossing his arms.
Tenzin, Pema, and Kya, who were holding a baby, looked at each other. "Because if Airbenders show up here, they're going to need some guidance from you two. It's a very important job," Kya reasoned to them.
"Really? Me, a teacher? Yay!" Ikki said as he jumped happily.
"Those maggots will bow to me!" Meelo said determinedly.
"Go easy on them, son," Tenzin said to his son.
After saying their goodbyes, the group boarded the airship and started their journey. The group consists of Bumi, Asami, Korra, Tenzin, Jinora, Bolin, and Mako, with Oogie and Naga. In the end, Mako ended up joining the group, thanks to Bolin's persuasion skills.
The group sat around a table with a map with marks on them laid on the table. "As of now, these are the towns where we've gotten reports about Airbenders," Mako started. It looks like we can hit up most of them before we get to Ba Sing Se," he added.
"We're going to bring the Air Nation back from the brink of extinction after nearly 200 Years," Korra said excitedly about what they were about to accomplish.
"And it's all because of you, Korra," Tenzin proudly stated, making the woman smile.
The door suddenly flew open, making all heads turn towards the door. "Something is floating in the clouds!" a staff member said with a worried look.
"I'll check it out," Tenzin said, standing up and walking toward the staff.
"I'll come with you," Korra said, following Tenzin.
The others stood up from their seat and followed the staff to the operating room. "There," the staff informed them, pointing at something from one of the clouds. It looks like an airball with something glowing inside.
"What's that?" Bumi asked, scratching his head.
"It looks like an airball, and it seems like something is inside," Asami answered, observing the ball.
"Maybe an Airbender!" Bolin said excitedly.
Tenzin and Korra look at each other and nod. They walked outside, where a flying bison was resting with a polar bear dog. Tenzin and Korra approached the resting bison. Tenzin patted the bison's face and said, "Sorry for disturbing you, Oogie. We'll just check something in the clouds."
The bison let out a groan as an answer. Tenzin climbs on Oogi's head while Korra is on Oogie's back.
Korra's POV
"Oogie, yip yip," Tenzin said as Oogie stood and flapped his tail to levitate and started flying off the airship. I feel excited for no reason as we approach the giant air ball. It wasn't that big, but it fits a person's size.
As we drew closer, I could see a person inside. "Someone's inside!" I told Tenzin as I stood up from my place. It seems like the person is unconscious, but how can they be in an airball if she's in it? Did someone trap her, or is it her own doing?
Oogie stopped just beside the airball. I examined the glowing person inside. It was a woman with golden hair in weird clothing. "What should I do?" I asked Tenzin.
"Relax and try to reach in for the girl. It seems like she unconsciously made an airball to float," Tenzin suggested.
I took a deep breath, exhaled, and reached for the airball. As my hand went through the barrier, I didn't feel anything, so I went closer to the unconscious woman's body. As soon as I made contact with her, the airball burst. Before she could fall, I caught her and laid her down on Oogie's back. I observed her as we flew back to the airship. Wow, she has many gold keys hanging on her belt. Why does she have so many keys? Is she somewhat a key holder or something? There is also something attached to her belt. It's a cylinder with a star-shaped pendant connected to it.
We arrived back at the airship, so I picked her up and carried her in my arms. We were greeted by Asami and the others by the door.
"Wow, she's pretty," Bolin said as he looked at the girl.
"Hey, stop staring at her," Asami said as she poked Bolin's side, making him jump. She might have found his sensitive spot. "But she is gorgeous, great body and unique hair color," she added.
Mako was quiet, but he was also examing the woman in my arms.
"It seems like she was in a fight since her clothes are covered in dirt," Bumi pointed out.
"I'll bring her to one of the rooms and wait for her to wake up," Tenzin said.
"But what if she's an enemy and just faking being unconscious?" Mako said, being suspicious.
"I'll look after her!" Jinora volunteered with an excited look on her face.
"Are you sure? We don't know anything about her," Tenzin said, frowning.
"I'm sure she can handle it, Tenzin," Bumi said, putting a hand on his little brother's shoulder.
"Okay then," Tenzin let out a sigh.
I went inside one of the cabins in the airship and laid the unconscious woman on the bed. Jinora sat on one of the chairs and opened a book she had gotten somewhere. "Call us if something happens," I told her before exiting the room.
- Somewhere in the Middle of the Ocean -
In an offshore barge in the middle of the ocean is the location of one of the White Lotus prisons. It is made up of wood to prevent earthbendening criminals to do bending. In the middle of the barge is a cage made up of wood, and inside is a man doing pull-ups. The man was half-naked with long hair and tattoos on his body.
A boat is seen by the guards approaching the barge. "Finally, our shift change is here," one of the guards said.
Two guards went to meet the ones who were going to exchange posts with them, but when they got closer, they were only one man in the boat.
"Hey, where are the other guards?" one of the guards asked the guy in the boat.
The man faced them, revealing his face." Zaheer?!" the guards said, shocked.
The guards were about to attack the guy, but the man named Zaheer was too fast and attacked the guards from behind, making them fly away.
One of the guys in a tower shoots out water at the escaped criminal, but Zaheer is able to dodge it. While fighting with the guards, Zaheer threw rocks inside one of the prison cells. The man in the cell grinned, turned the rocks into magma, and used it to cut through the wooden cell. He kicked the weakened wall, got out, and then attacked the remaining guards with his bending.
The man named Zaheer approached him and then clasped their hands together, smirking. "It's nice to see you again, Ghazan," Zaheer told his friend.
"Thanks for busting me out. Where did you pick up the new skills?" the man named Ghazan thanked the man before asking.
"I have Harmonic Convergence to thank for that. I was given a gift. I believe it's a sign that our path is righteous," Zaheer replied with an evil look on his face.
- Back in the Airship -
Lucy's POV
I could feel something soft and comfy under me. It feels like a bed. I slowly opened my eyes and rubbed the sleepiness away. When my eyesight adjusted, I pushed myself into a sitting position and looked around. I saw a girl standing beside the bed, looking back at me. She wore long-sleeved yellow shirts, loose orange shawls, brown pants, and tall red boots. She has short dark brown hair like Cana and brown eyes.
"Hi?" I said awkwardly, giving her a small smile.
"Hello, my name is Jinora!" the girl said with a sheepish smile.
"My name is Lucy. Nice to meet you, Jinora," I introduced myself. "Where am I?" I asked as I looked around, and what I saw outside a window were clouds. Wait, what? Clouds?
"Where in an airship," Jinora answered, still smiling. "Let's go and meet the others," she said as she grabbed my hand.
I didn't feel anything hostility or suspicious, so I stood up from the bed and followed her. I checked my keys and whip on my bed which was still attached to my belt. I looked around as we walked, having never seen anything like this before. We don't have anything like this in Fiore. Was I in a coma? My train of thought was broken when Jinora said, "She's awake!"
I didn't realize that we had already stopped walking. I looked around the room and saw six people, and they were all looking at me. I could feel my face heat up from the attention, so I bowed to hide my blushing face and introduced myself, "My name is Lucy. Nice to meet you."
When I straightened my back, I saw a smiling woman wearing blue tribal clothes walking toward me. "Hi! My name is Korra. Nice to meet you too, Lucy," she said, holding out one of her hands which I shook.
"I'm Asami," the other woman said, smiling.
"I'm Mako," a man with a red scarf said, giving me a nod.
"I'm Bolin," a man said, who took my hand and shook it too fast. He was also smiling.
"My name is Bumi," an old man said, giving me a toothy grin.
"And I am Tenzin. Nice to meet you, Lucy," a bald guy with a blue arrow tattoo on his head and hands said as he approached me.
"It's nice to meet you all," I said, giving them all a smile. "But, um, where am I?" I asked, scratching the back of my head.
"We're heading to the Earth Nation," Korra answered.
I frowned. I haven't heard of a place called Earth Nation before. Am I still in Fiore? "Is that still a part of Fiore?" I asked, a slight frown on my forehead.
"Fiore?" Jinora asked, looking confused.
"Yes, the Kingdom of Fiore," I repeated.
"I'm sorry, but we haven't heard of a place called Fiore," Korra said, a slight frown on her forehead.
"What do you mean?" my head suddenly ached, making me grab my head and groan. Images of spirits, fighting with the enemies and the weird key started flashing in my head.
"Oh shit," I muttered.
"Are you okay?" I heard a worried voice ask.
I slowly opened my eyes once my headache faded away. "Sorry, I suddenly got a headache and just remembered what happened. It seems like I was transported here," I explained.
"Transported here?" Bolin asked with a confused look on his face.
"Yes, I'm from a different world. The key that I last touched transported me here. It has four different symbols carved on it. Before I could hand it over to the spirits, a gold light engulfed the room, and then I blacked out," I could feel another headache coming.
Then realization hit me, how am I going to get back home? I slumped down to the floor. I could feel my eyes start watering. I could feel someone wrapping their arms around me, hugging me. "How am I going to get back home?" I whispered.
Korra's POV
Even if we just met Lucy, I can feel her sadness. She looked so vulnerable as Jinora hugged her. "How am I going to get back home?" I heard her whisper.
I was about to say something when I saw her keys glowing. Out of nowhere, there was a flash of gold when the light faded. A man wearing a suit appeared standing beside Lucy. I could see everyone's shocked faces. Who wouldn't be? A man suddenly appeared.
The man squatted and hugged Lucy. "Don't worry, Lucy, we're still here for you," the man said with a soothing voice.
Lucy's POV
"Don't worry, Lucy, we're still here for you," I heard a familiar voice say, making me look up and see Loke.
I could feel Jinora pull away from me to give me space. I wrapped my arms around Loke and cried harder, he wrapped his arms around me, and I could hear him whisper reassuring words to me. I know I looked pathetic, but I couldn't help him. It's not my first time being in another world, but what makes today different is that I don't have Natsu, Gray, Erza, Wendy, and the exceeds.
"There's something important that I have to tell you, Lucy, while I still have time," Loke said, pulling away from me. He pulled out a handkerchief from his pocket and whipped my tears.
"I have good news and bad news," he said, giving me a weak smile.
