I'm here because a dear friend had convinced me to write for the To Love Ru fandom because it is severely lacking in fics, and I agree. I told him that I would only join this archive if I get a good idea and this is what I came up with. I'm gonna have fun with this, kukuku.

Planet Spider
The whole planet was in chaos.
What was once a haven for humanoid aliens and spiders alike was now a barren wasteland, filled with nothing but blood and dead bodies everywhere. Mountains and hills were destroyed, forests were burned down by a seemingly endless fire, the rivers and other forms of water were stained red, and the sky was completely dark.
After five years of fighting against the enemy forces known as the Iron Cross Army, war had taken its toll on the planet and at this point, it wouldn't be far-fetched to say that the end result of this whole catastrophe would be the destruction of the planet.
However, hope wasn't gone just yet.
The only place that was still resisting against the hostile aliens was the planet's capital Venom, but the situation wasn't anything good. The remaining citizens who were still alive had just attempted a counterattack in the form of a single-focused strike against one particular enemy using everything at their disposal; including missiles, lasers, and cannons.
But sadly, even the combined efforts of the remaining people wasn't enough, as their attack was completely overpowered by a single lightning strike from the enemy, which destroyed the weapons that were used as well as the ones who were operating them.
Many lives were claimed in the attempted counterattack against the army, and only a handful were left alive, although barely and some of them gravely injured.
A single being emerged from the smoke created by the explosion brought by the two attacks, whose mere presence was enough to send fear and terror towards the remaining aliens who were still alive.
He was a half-alien, half-robot hybrid whose face showed his two halves in an almost grotesque way. His midsection was completely like that of a robot, made of metal and had various buttons on it. He wore a black cloak and hood, and he also wielded a red magical staff. He continued to walk towards the remaining inhabitants of the planet, an evil grin appearing on his face.
"Yes! Yes! Cower in my presence, you insignificant bugs!" shouted Professor Monster, laughing evilly at the chaos that he brought upon this planet.
While most of the remaining people have already given up hope and started begging for them to be spared, one individual valiantly stood up, although it took great effort because of the injuries and wounds he had sustained.
"When will you have enough, Professor Monster?! You have already destroyed several other races before us and now we, too, are on the brink of extinction! When will you finally stop this madness!"
The evil scientist cackled. "That's a good question, if only it has an answer! There is no answer because I will not stop! I won't stop until the whole galaxy and everything within it becomes mine!"
"You won't get away with this! King Gid will know of this madness and he will put a stop to your heinous actions!"
The brave soul tried to run towards the evil scientist in an attempt to keep on fighting, only to get disintegrated in his place with a laser beam that came out of Professor Monster's robotic eye.
"That buffoon can surely try, but he will fall as well! The Iron Cross Army is indestructible!" Professor Monster boasted, raising his staff in the air as lightning cracked in the sky.
The remaining citizens tried to scream in fear, but they couldn't get anything out of their mouths. They were too frozen in their places to do a thing, and the mad professor was loving every moment of it.
"You say that, but all you've been doing is wipe out alien races that are completely defenseless and unable to fight back! You can't fight against King Gid because you know you will lose!" one of them shouted, showing his defiance despite the fact that he was already lying on the ground, helpless.
The half-robot, half-alien hybrid obviously didn't take that insult lightly, his eyebrow twitching madly as a result. He raised his staff against the helpless alien and prepared to fire a lightning shot at him, only for another voice to interrupt.
"Professor! Our Ninder army is about to storm the castle! We're only awaiting your orders!"
Professor Monster turned to face his trusted general, Amazoness. She was a humanoid alien wearing a black sleeveless leotard that exposed her stomach, white leggings, black heels, and a dark green cape.
"Do not do anything, Amazoness. I will take over that place myself, after I deal with these pesky insects."
Amazoness only nodded and stood back, a sadistic smile forming on her face as she watched her master slaughter the remaining citizens.
In the distance, two people were observing the whole scene from their position in the castle. They watched helplessly as the last of the civilians who volunteered to defend the planet were killed, leaving them and the soldiers of the castle as the only remaining inhabitants on the planet.
The one who was wearing regal clothing along with a crown took a deep breath and turned to his companion, a calm look appearing on his face.
"Garia, Professor Monster is heading here. We will not last long against him. You must go and save yourself."
The alien named Garia looked appalled.
"But your Highness! I cannot just leave you and our remaining people to die at the hands of that vile fiend!"
"We have long accepted our fate, Garia. We were only prolonging the inevitable until now," the King of Planet Spider shook his head in a somber manner, but still remained calm. "But you can still save our race. Travel the galaxy. Find someone who will inherit our power. He will keep our memory alive and fight Professor Monster when the time comes."
Garia shook his head furiously, refusing to accept such a plan. "What about King Gid?! Has he not even responded to our plea for help?! He can eliminate this monster by just lifting a finger!"
"King Gid is the ruler of the whole galaxy. He does not have time to look at what's happening on such a small planet like ours."
"Your Highness…"
A loud explosion then rattled the whole castle, causing the two to look down and see what was happening. Garia's eyes widened upon seeing Professor Monster destroy the castle gates with one blast from his staff, while the King didn't seem surprised at all.
He noticed the look on Garia's face and quickly snapped him out of it by placing a hand on his shoulder, almost in a fatherly way.
"You have been our planet's greatest warrior, Garia. You have defended us for so long, but now it is time for us to defend you. For five years we have fought against this monster, and we have never succeeded. But victory doesn't matter anymore, because all we need to do is ensure your escape from this planet. Travel the stars. Find a successor to our power. Entrust our future to him."
Tears filled Garia's eyes as he stared at the alien whom he followed his whole life, the one who regarded him as their planet's best warrior, and the one who just left their race's future to him.
"I will defeat Professor Monster… I swear it," Garia grabbed the hand that was on his shoulder and gripped it tightly. "For our fallen comrades, for our people, for my dead family, I will avenge us!"
The doors to the hall then slammed open, alerting the two and quickly prepared to fight, only to see that it was only a soldier.
"Your highness! Professor Monster has stormed the castle with his army and we have already lost a lot of soldiers! We won't last long!"
The king's eyes widened as he looked at Garia and pointed to the stairs.
"Go now, Garia! We will hold Professor Monster off for as long as we can!" he shouted, before running off to join his soldier in their last efforts of resisting the evil Professor Monster.
As much as it pained him to do so, Garia took off and ran up the stairs to the castle's peak, where a spaceship was located and ready to be used.
Garia quickly ran inside, powered up the ship and flew away from the castle. He was easily noticed by the Ninder army down below, who began firing lasers and rockets at him.
Thanks to years of experience however, Garia easily evaded the army's efforts to bring him and his ship down.
Just as he entered the planet's atmosphere, the last remaining survivor of Planet Spider looked back at his home and choked back a sob. Professor Monster must have killed the King and his soldiers by now and in a matter of minutes, the planet will be reduced to rocks and rubble, just like all of the other planets that the evil scientist has destroyed before them.
"I swear… I will avenge my home… my people… and my family…" Garia swore to himself, turning his attention to the galaxy that awaits him. "Professor Monster… you will pay for this!"
100 years later; Tokyo, Japan
Rito Yuuki, a young boy with spiky brown hair and a personality that can match an angel's, smiled brightly as he walked through the halls of the museum, all while admiring the various paintings and sculptures around. He wasn't really someone who's into art and other craft, but he knows how to appreciate a person's work when he sees it.
He was currently in a class of twenty students, who were all being led by their homeroom teacher through the halls while explaining the artworks that they came across.
"Okay class, we have one more room to explore, then we'll go to the gardens to have lunch. After that, we'll continue the tour of the museum!"
Their school, Sainan Junior High, was having a field trip today and one of their destinations was the Tokyo National Museum. They had already spent almost two hours walking around and staring at the artworks on display.
As soon as Rito heard that announcement from his teacher, the boy's eyes flew towards a certain blue-haired girl in his class, who was currently talking to two other girls and laughing along with them.
Rito was so distracted from staring at the girl that he didn't notice a black-haired classmate of his sneaking up from behind him.
"Hey, Rito!"
"-!" The boy tensed up when he felt someone wrapping an arm around his shoulder, only to realize who it was upon noticing the person's appearance. "Oh. It's just you, Saruyama."
Kenichi Saruyama, the boy with black hair that pointed backwards and a massive pervert, grinned at his best friend.
"Hey Rito, what do you say we have lunch together then we sneak away to check out the gardens on our own? Maybe we can even see some of the girls in our school if we're quiet enough~"
Rito cringed at the sight of Saruyama's perverted grin, but he remained calm.
"T-Thanks for the offer, Saruyama, but I already have plans for lunch," he revealed, turning his attention towards the same blue-haired girl once again.
Saruyama raised an eyebrow at his friend at first, before he noticed the person that Rito was staring at.
"Ohoho, I see what's happening here. You're going to invite Sairenji-chan to eat lunch with you, aren't ya?"
Rito blushed at Saruyama's question, but nodded nonetheless. "Y-Yeah… I think this'll be a good time to do it, while we're on a school trip. It's always hard for me to do it while we're at school, maybe it'll be different while we're out here."
Haruna Sairenji was Rito's crush and if he had to be honest, she was also the girl he developed feelings for. Now, it can be said that he's still too young for that kind of thing, but when you go through school together for years with the same girl whom he had a crush on, it doesn't really leave him with much options.
So yes, Rito Yuuki was in love with Haruna Sairenji.
"Well, if that's what you want, then I'll support you. Make sure you don't chicken out of this, Rito!"
Rito sweatdropped. "Thanks for the words of encouragement…"
"Oh, and don't worry about Momioka-chan. I'll make sure she doesn't interrupt you two while you're together," Saruyama reassured him.
Too late.
The mere mention of the name was enough to make Rito nervous enough to the point that he started visibly shaking.
"O-Oh, right… there's… Momioka…"
One of Haruna's friends was Risa Momioka, who was practically a female version of Saruyama when it came to being perverted, the only thing is that she was somehow worse. Risa was someone who didn't care about decency and personal space, having a habit of groping the breasts of their female classmates just for fun.
Haruna herself was a frequent victim of those 'grope attacks' but being the absolute angel that she was, all she's ever done against Risa was crying for her to stop every time it happens.
Other than his own shyness around girls, Rito was completely unable to hold a conversation with Haruna without getting interrupted by something out of nowhere. It's the other main reason why he always had a hard time trying to interact with her at school.
"There she is, Rito! All alone! Go and do your thing!" Saruyama cried as he pointed towards Haruna, who was currently standing in front of a giant painting.
He then pushed his best friend forward, which almost caused Rito to stumble and fall, but he managed to regain his balance before that. Rito threw a deadpan look at Saruyama, who only grinned in return, before focusing on the girl he had romantic feelings for.
"Hey, Sairenji."
Rito called out to her as he put on a gentle smile, which immediately caught her attention.
"Hi, Yuuki-kun. I-Is there something you want to talk to me about?" she asked, smiling in return.
"I…" he took a deep breath and hesitated for a bit, before finally letting his thoughts speak for himself. "I want to ask if you're enjoying the school trip so far."
Rito could see Saruyama facepalming from the corner of his eye and if he had to be honest, he was tempted to do the same. Heck, he was so close to banging his head against the nearest wall out of frustration.
He had one chance to ask her out to eat lunch with him, and he blew it!
Just when he finally had the courage to do such a thing, he goes and screws it up like he always does!
"Hmm… if I had to be honest, maybe not as much as I expected I would be," she shrugged.
Realizing that Haruna was continuing the conversation while unaware of his true intentions, Rito quickly focused on her instead of his frustration with himself.
"What do you mean?"
"I've actually been here before with my family, so I already know most of the paintings and sculptures around here, including what they mean. I thought it would feel different when I'm here with my friends and classmates instead, but it's the same."
Rito noticed the sad smile on her face, which quickly had him thinking of a way to cheer her up. He couldn't bear to see the girl he loved like this!
"Well… what if we walk around together?" he quickly asked on impulse, which made him blush furiously and cover his mouth after realizing what he just said.
Haruna blinked a few times in confusion.
The boy quickly decided that it would be better if he simply went along with what came out his mouth instead of trying to make himself look like an idiot by denying it.
"I-I-I'm just saying that… maybe it would be good to walk with someone who knows about this place instead…!"
The girl stared at him for a few moments and Rito almost thought that he failed horribly, only for Haruna to start giggling all of a sudden while shaking her head.
"Are you saying that you want me to tell you things that I know about these paintings, Yuuki-kun? Isn't Kamiya-sensei already doing that for us?" she asked him with an amused smile.
Her expression was enough for him to smile in return. "Yeah, but… I'd rather learn from you, Sairenji."
"Well… I'm not a teacher, but I'll try my best to remember everything I learned and tell you all about it."
And the two began to walk together the whole way, entering the last room before their designated lunch time. Like what she promised, Haruna told him what she knew of the artworks on display which was impressive in its own right. Rito already knew that Haruna was one of the smartest people in their class, but to hear her talk about her experiences during a trip that happened a year ago was something else.
Rito honestly enjoyed her efforts more than their teacher's, and not just because she was the girl whom he had feelings for.
As they heard the announcement from their teacher that they were going back to the buses to get their lunch, the boy immediately realized that he wouldn't be able to spend time with Haruna anymore, because she would likely be with her friends later on.
Rito figured that this would be his last chance to ask Haruna to eat lunch with him, so he took another deep breath and mustered up his courage for this.
"Sairenji," he called out.
Haruna "What is it, Yuuki-kun?"
He knew that he can't screw up now!
If he does, then Haruna will end up eating with her friends instead!
"Sairenji, d-do… do you want to eat lunch with me?" Rito asked, as he cheered in his mind for managing to ask her the question that he's been wanting to say for a long time.
Haruna blinked in surprise upon hearing his question and even blushed furiously when it finally registered in her mind. However, the girl managed to calm herself and quickly gave him her answer.
"I-I'd love to, Yuuki-kun."
Rito almost thought he was only hearing things.
"Y-You will?!" he asked again just to be sure, as Haruna nodded happily. "I-I-I'm really glad you accepted, Sairenji!"
Haruna giggled at his enthusiasm. "You're welcome. I'll look forward to eating with you, Yuuki-kun."
The girl bowed her head and walked away, which managed to hide the big smile on her face and prevented it from being seen by Rito himself.
Unbeknownst to Rito, Haruna also had hidden feelings for him and she felt extremely happy inside when he invited her to eat lunch with him.
Ever since they began going to the same school in kindergarten until now, Haruna admired Rito's gentle and kind nature, and his usual nervousness around girls like her honestly made him cute.
She also had no problem admitting to herself that he was quite attractive too, which is something that she could never say out loud without fainting out of embarrassment.
But, there's no need to embarrass herself today! Rito just asked her to eat lunch with him, and Haruna wasn't going to waste this chance to get closer to him.
The whole class returned to their bus where the students brought out their packed lunches and followed their teacher to the garden, where many tables and chairs were scattered all over the area.
Those who were friends immediately occupied the available tables and proceeded to start their lunch. Meanwhile, Rito walked up towards Haruna and invited her to an empty table near various patches of flowers.
After giving thanks for their food, the two began to eat in peace, at least until Rito made a remark about this trip being a lot more enjoyable than what he thought it would be. Haruna agreed and admitted that she was having fun as well, although that was only because she spent time with her crush and he made things enjoyable for her.
From there, the conversation steered into the topic of school, as they talked about their plans for high school. They were both planning to enroll in Sainan High School, which would mean that they'll continue to be classmates for yet another year. Haruna expressed her interest in joining the tennis club when the time comes, and Rito encouraged her to go for it. When she asked him if he was planning to join a club or an extracurricular activity, Rito only shrugged as he never really had an interest in things like those and would rather focus on his studies instead.
All in all, the pair enjoyed their lunch together, which surprised even the both of them. Usually, they were both too shy to even talk to each other for very long or they would get interrupted by someone and make things awkward out of nowhere.
"Yuuki-kun, I think we're way past the point of formalities by now. Don't you think so too?" Haruna asked, smiling brightly at her crush.
A confused look took over the boy's features. "Uhm… uh, w-what are you saying, Sairenji?"
"I… I want you to call me 'Haruna' from now on," she stated, hesitating at first out of embarrassment. She couldn't even admit her feelings for him, so the least she could do was express her desire for Rito to call her by her name.
Rito blushed furiously.
"Then… please call me by my name as well, Haruna-chan…!" he quickly blurted out as he felt his whole body freeze in place. He had just called the girl using the same he used for her in his thoughts, and he didn't know whether to be happy, nervous, or afraid about it.
Haruna was on the same boat, her body freezing in both surprise and embarrassment the moment he said his response. Telling him to call her by her name was one thing, but him doing the same for her?
Oh, and being referred to using her name as well… now she's beginning to understand why it can be embarrassing for some people!
She almost couldn't handle it.
"Okay… R-Rito-kun," she mumbled.
Things between them remained quiet for the next few moments, but both of them knew that it couldn't stay like this for long. One of them had to say something, but they were both left as a nervous wreck after using each other's names that they couldn't blurt out a thing!
Luckily, they'd be saved from their misery by a certain individual.
"Oho! What exactly is going on here, hm?"
A girl with light brown hair and dark brown eyes spoke in a mischievous tone, suddenly making her presence known to the two embarrassed teenagers.
"R-Risa?!/Momioka…?!" Both Haruna and Rito exclaimed, turning their heads towards the class' resident female pervert, Risa Momioka.
"So this is why you didn't eat lunch with us, Haruna!" she pouted, pretending to look offended before she leaned close to her friend and gave her a wink. "You know, if you wanted to eat with Yuuki, you could have told me. I would have given you tips on how to seduce him and finally make him yours!"
"S-Seduce…?!" Haruna's eyes became swirls, her face exploding in embarrassment, as her mind began to conjure images of herself doing… inappropriate things with Rito.
Rito only deadpanned upon hearing those words from Risa, before he noticed his best friend walking up to their table with a defeated look on his face.
"Sorry, Rito. I tried to stop her, but she was just too persistent…" Saruyama spoke in an overdramatic tone, as though he lost in a great war.
"Somehow, I kind of saw this coming…" Rito sighed to himself.
Well, at the very least, he did what he set out to do, right? He was able to invite Haruna to eat lunch with him, and that was after he failed the first time. Before that, he was already having a good time listening to Haruna while she acted as a tour guide of sorts towards him.
This already ended better than he could have ever hoped for!
"Momioka-san! I want you to stop bothering Yuuki-kun and Sairenji-san this instant!" yelled another girl who ran up towards them with an angry look on her face.
She had long black hair, dark brown hair, and a rather large bust. The girl sent a scowl towards Risa, who didn't even seem bothered and only looked amused at the sight.
"Or what, Yui-chan~?"
Yui Kotegawa, one of their classmates with an extreme dislike for 'shameless' things, pointed towards Risa in an accusing manner. "Or I'll tell Kamiya-sensei that you've been creating trouble again! I've been keeping an eye on you and now I see that you're going to do shameless things again!"
"But Yui-chan, aren't you curious about what Haruna-chan and Yuuki were talking about earlier? They're here eating lunch together like a real couple," Risa smirked.
"It's not my business to know about those things and neither is it yours, Momioka-san!" cried Yui.
Rito sighed heavily and raised his hand to try and get their attention. It was up to him to defuse this situation somehow…
"G-Guys…?"
It's no use.
Risa and Yui's voices were too loud as they continued to have a banter about 'shameless' actions, Haruna was caught between the two that she couldn't say anything, while Saruyama was busy berating himself for not being a good wingman for his friend.
While the boy was too distracted trying to defuse the growing misunderstanding taking place before him, he was completely unaware that a strange-looking spider had crept up along his leg and began to climb up his pants.
"Guys please, let's just stop this…" he slightly raised his voice this time, which got Yui's attention as she pointed towards him accusingly as well.
"You be quiet, Yuuki-kun! Don't think I haven't kept an eye on you ever since the trip started!"
"W-What did I do?!" Rito cried out, raising his hands in the air as if he was caught red-handed.
"I have no idea yet, but I bet you're thinking about something shameless with Saruyama-kun!"
Rito sweatdropped. If he had to be honest, this girl should really consider eating a menthol once in a while to calm herself.
No, he didn't hate her at all. He could never do such a thing, but it would be good for Yui to calm down once in a while.
"Hey, I may be a pervert but don't go accusing Rito of being one, Kotegawa! My friend is as pure as an angel!"
"Uhm… I think we should just all calm down and talk about this in a more quiet manner?"
The boy remained oblivious to the spider's presence up until it reached his left hand. In a matter of seconds, the spider opened its jaws and bit down on the boy's skin, hard.
"OW!" Rito cried out as he clutched his left hand tightly and started shaking it to get rid of the pain, almost falling over his chair but managing to keep himself upright.
"Rito-kun!"
"Yuuki-kun!"
"Yuuki, what happened?!"
"Rito, are you okay?!"
Haruna, Yui, Risa, and Saruyama were all alarmed by the boy's sudden cry and they quickly turned their heads to him, where they saw Rito trying to nurse his hand somehow.
"I'm… fine, j-just…" he told them, continuing to shake his hand in an attempt to get rid of the lingering pain. "…I got bitten by something."
Rito looked at the back of his hand, where he saw that the space between his thumb and forefinger was already reddening, with two small wounds created from the bite.
"Let me see that," Yui spoke, walking over towards him and then grabbing his hand, causing Rito to blush at her sudden action. "That doesn't look good. You should wash that thoroughly with soap and water. I'll tell Kamiya-sensei about this! Hurry!"
A worried look replaced her angry expression as she ran off with one intention in mind, and that is to find their teacher so she can report what happened.
"Got it! I'll just pack this up for a second!" Rito agreed, wrapping his bento using the plastic bag that it was in earlier.
"Hey, is this what bit you? A spider?" asked Saruyama, who bent down and picked up a spider from the ground, one that was not moving and completely unresponsive.
Rito took a closer look at it, taking note of its strange colors but not saying anything more. "I guess?"
"Huh… that's weird, because it's already dead. It's not even moving anymore," Saruyama muttered.
Risa walked closer to them and took a closer look at the little creature on Saruyama's hand. "Maybe it died after it bit Yuuki? It could have been trying to bite someone before passing away and Yuuki happens to be the nearest person, so it went for him."
"I don't think so, Risa. Spiders aren't like bees who die after they sting a person," Haruna pointed out.
"Then Rito must have swatted the poor little guy so hard that he died!"
Rito quickly shook his head in denial. "W-W-Wait, I didn't do anything to it! After it bit me, I just shook my arm for a bit and it fell off."
"Is that so? I guess the little guy was just too weak to keep on living then," said Risa, feeling a little bad for the poor spider.
Haruna turned her attention to her crush, a look of worry now taking over her face. "Are you okay, Rito-kun? It sounded like you were really hurt from that bite."
The boy's face flushed after hearing her call him by his name again, but he quickly snapped out of it. "I-I'm fine. It just surprised me and… it doesn't really hurt anymore after a while… thanks for worrying about me, Haruna-chan."
At that moment, Yui came back from her run and was left panting afterwards out of exhaustion. However, when she saw Rito still there in his place, her anger flared once again as she frowned deeply at the brown-haired boy.
"What are you still doing here, Yuuki-kun?! Wash that bite wound now! Kamiya-sensei is coming to check on it when you're done!"
"O-On it!"
"Let me help you, Rito-kun!" Haruna exclaimed, standing up from her seat before running after Rito.
"Thanks, Haruna-chan!"
With Haruna right behind him, the boy then took off in search of the nearest restroom. If he had to be honest, he wasn't really bothered by the fact that a spider sunk its teeth into its hand.
He may have got bitten by an arachnid out of nowhere, but it didn't make this day any less enjoyable than it already was.
He managed to spend time with his crush, successfully managed to ask her to have lunch with him, and now they were even on a first-name basis!
Rito also felt that he had become significantly closer to Haruna as well, which is something that he has long hoped for to happen, ever since they were classmates for the first time. If this continues, there may be a good chance for him to confess his feelings for her and maybe even get to ask her out!
"Best school trip ever," he thought, feeling proud of himself for this accomplishment.
Yes, I'm taking things from the Japanese Spiderman (Supaidāman) series. Since To Love-Ru is all about aliens and it has wacky moments, I think that Supaidāman would be a more appropriate theme for Rito instead of the normal comic book origin. I will not adapt every aspect of the Supaidāman series, though. And I'll be putting my own spin on characters like Professor Monster and Amazoness.
