Chapter 9
(A.N. I know I promised smut back in the first chapter, so this is your semi-smut warning for this chapter. Like they are not going to go all the way since this is rated T but still it is a little something. As always I do not own CM and thanks for reading.)
They go their separate ways, agreeing with Morgan.
"I do not feel like going to sleep." Emily said to Hotch.
"Coffee and a walk?"
"Yes please."
They normally liked to have long walks around the city, especially when they needed to clear their minds and talk. Hotch orders a black coffee, and Emily got a decaf French Vanilla Cappuccino, and a croissant (Pregnancy cravings). After they got the drinks, Emily wanted to walk towards the Smithsonians. Hotch knew now was not a good time, but he really wanted to ask Emily to marry him.
After walking for a few minutes, he decided to start bringing up the subject.
"Emily, do you remember the origins of soulmates?"
"The one proposed by Aristophanes?"
"Yes, where we had double of everything but were too powerful together and so everyone was split apart, left to search for their other half for the rest of eternity."
"Why would you bring up something so sweet and romantic at a time like this?"
"I don't think we have to search anymore." he stopped walking and turned to look at Emily. He hoped that she was getting the idea.
"Aaron, are you sure about this?"
"Emily Madelyn Prentiss, what we have may not be conventional, but I know that I want to spend the rest of my life with you, and raising our children together. I have found the other half of me I didn't even know I was missing. I love Lindsay as if she were my own, in fact I wish she was and Jack adores both of you. It would make me the happiest man if you would marry me." he said getting down on one knee in front of the outside art garden. He pulled out a box that, instead of containing a ring, had a necklace with a 3 carat diamond in the center with 3 other stones underneath.
"Yes." was her answer. She knew that she was going to spend the rest of her life with Aaron, but she had not expected him to propose, especially so soon after Haley's death.
Hotch stood up to put the necklace around her neck. He had designed it specifically for her.
"The other stones are Opal for Jack, Sapphire for Lindsay, and Emerald for the twin's predicted, birthstones."
"It's beautiful." Emily said after he clasped it and laid comfortably on her chest.
He wrapped his arms around her in a hug from behind. Emily turned around to face him and gave him a kiss. He, of course returned it, pulling her as close to him as possible with the growing baby bump.
Emily returned his action and moved to take the kiss deeper, sliding her tongue over his teeth; begging for entrance into his mouth. Their tongues battled for dominance, claiming the new terrain. Instinctively, Hotch's hands cupped Emily's ass, while her hands found their way to his hair.
They had not had the opportunity to be this close and intimate with everything that had happened, so they were getting caught up in the moment. When they did come up for air, Hotch decided to talk.
"Do we want to continue this somewhere else?" he asked pulling away for only a second.
"Where? It's not like we can go back to my mother's house, she's weird about that."
"We could go back to our apartment, surely if Foyet and Gabriel found us together, both of us would be able to take them." he kisses her again.
They walk back to their apartment building, down the hallway, and to their door. He kisses Emily, backing her up against the door and picking her up.
She wraps her legs around Hotch's waist as he starts to trail kisses from her mouth, down her jaw, settling on a place on her neck to suck on. Hotch's hands go into her pants to grab her butt again. Emily runs a hand down his torso and into his pants, which was harder with the bump, rubbing his growing member from the confines of his boxers.
Hotch took one of his hands from her ass to get the key from his pocket and open the door. They should have had more restrain to make it to the bedroom, but they ended up on the couch.
The next morning
They fell asleep on the couch with Emily curled into Hotch with a blanket covering them. She was the first one to wake up to footsteps.
"Aaron." she says, shaking him awake.
"I'm up, what is it?"
"Someone else is here."
He is wide awake now, moving Emily between him and the couch for her protection. He gets off the couch and starts to search. He walks into the kitchen and sees Lindsay getting Jack a drink, while he was watching videos on her phone. She turns around and when she sees him, both of them scream.
"What are you two doing here?"
"It's Saturday, and we didn't know where you went last night. Grandma Lizzie had something to do this morning as well."
"You almost gave me and your mother a heart attack!"
"Sorry, don't you two want to go get dressed?" she said, observing that he was still halfway naked.
He leaves the room, tells Emily everything is fine, and they go get ready. During that time, Lindsay had made some breakfast for everyone.
"Thank you Linds." Emily says as they walk back into the kitchen.
"That's pretty Emmy." Jack said pointing to the necklace.
"Thank you Jack. Your dad got it for me."
"Yeah buddy, how would you feel about Emily being your new mommy and Lindsay officially becoming your sister?"
"What?" Lindsay interrupted.
"Aaron asked me to marry him last night. He designed this necklace with yours, Jack's, and the babies' birthstones as well as the diamond."
I think it's pgreat now I have two Mommies." he announced.
"You do?" Lindsay said.
"I have my real Mommy who lives in heaven now, and I have Mommy Emmy to take care of me now."
"Why don't we go to the courthouse today?" Lindsay suggested.
Hotch and Emily thought it was a good idea. After breakfast, they went to get ready. Jack and Hotch put on matching black suites and went into the living room to watch TV and wait for the girls.
Lindsay put on a light pink pouf dress and heels. She quickly curled her long black hair and a little bit of makeup, then she was ready and went to help her mom.
Emily had a white wrap dress in her closet she had been saving for a special occasion. She put it on and it fit perfectly over the growing baby bump. Beginning to put on her makeup, Lindsay walked in.
"Whatcha doing?" she asked.
"Putting on my makeup. What are you doing?"
"Seeing if you wanted some help?" the daughter asks.
She began to also curl Emily's hair while she did her makeup. They decided on a half- up-half-down bun hairstyle and it didn't take long for everyone to be ready.
"Wow!" both Jack and Hotch said when the two girls walked out.
They all leave the apartment and drive to the courthouse. Usually they would tell their friends and family about big life decisions such as these, but this felt right for them. They walk up the steps, down to the judges office, and we're able to get married with their children being the witnesses.
"Aaron Daniel Hotchner, Emily Madelyn Prentiss, I now pronounce you husband and wife." the judge declared. They kissed each other and the kids gathered around them for a family hug.
(A.N. I decided this one was going to just be happy and love. I'm ending it here, but next week there will be a dinner at Rossi's celebrating them with everyone. As always, I do not own CM, thanks for reading, and leave comments.)
