Author's Note:
The story is based on Tabs' version of Trina and takes place when Spencer is starting his restitution. This will be a short to be completed soon. I wanted to take liberties on what would happen if Trina took Ava's advice and kicked things up a notch or few. However, given that it isn't in her nature, I wanted to play on the awkwardness of going outside of her character.
Since I write interactive original stories in first person, I wanted to try my hand at writing a 1st POV fanfic. When the POV changes you will know by the chapter or paragraph heading being named after the character.
Chapter 1 - Drive Him Crazy with Flirtation
Trina
Did I have feelings for Spencer Cassadine? Yes, I did. I still do, and no matter what happens, I can't seem to shake them.
I mean hell, he sat directly across from me, looked me in my eyes then said that I was so sprung off him that I went out of character. It doesn't even make sense. What would I stand to gain?
I pace the gallery as I await Spencer's arrival. I made sure to dress to the nines. Jeans that hug my curves complimented by an orange, loose fitting blouse that pops against my skin tone.
I am not about to let Esme Prince ruin my life. I am going to follow the advice of my good friend and mentor, Ava Jerome. I am just going to tweak it a bit. See, not only will I set it up so that Esme sees us in tender moments; I am going to enrapture him so much that I am all that he thinks of. I will have him "sprung". The way that I see it, it is bound to cause a spat or few between he and Esme which could cause her to slip up.
I am going to play her game. "Game on bitch."
"What is this game?" Spencer asks as he enters the gallery startling me.
Damn so much for the element of surprise working for me.
"Nothing you would know." He raised an eyebrow skeptically.
"You'd he surprised." He pressed. I knew that I needed to change tactics.
"Ava left a list of things for you to do. Starting over here."
I walk over to the 'Eye of The Storm' a classic piece by Camei Avant. It's remarkable and I hope to restore it myself one day.
"This needs a good dusting and to be positioned correctly. I can't quit reach." I brush past him making sure to position myself in front of him as I tried to reach the top of the painting. I make sure to arch my back to give him something to look at. I hear him chuckle before I feel his warm hands on my waist. I lose all train of thought when he leans in.
"You are sexier when you aren't trying." I can hear the playful but curious tone in his voice. The warmth from his breath lingers on my hear. I can't help the startled gasp that escapes my lips before I regain my senses. Offended I whirl around on him stumbling backward as I do but he steadied me like it is natural. The easiest thing in the damn world. I am furious.
"You think that I am trying to be sexy? Why would I do that?" He doesn't answer, just smirks as he observes me curiously.
"If I recall correctly," he starts without letting me go, instead, he pulls me closer. I am lost in those chocolate depths. I love his eyes. They have always taken me on journeys into his inner workings.
"You said that you wanted to restore this very painting along with many others."
My heart slams in my chest and I swear he can hear it. I am caught up in this rapture and for a moment, I don't mind it. Then I realize that he is cocky as hell. Oh so very cocky.
You pompous.
"You said that the process itself was a form of art within art." He smiles down at me admiringly. I will not swoon. I refuse so I roll my eyes as I shimmy out of his grasp.
Asshole.
UGH! You had one job Trina! How could you fail so miserably?
I straightened my back. "You remembered?"
"I remember everything you say to me." I ignore the passionate tone of his voice. The way his eyes try to lure me back in.
You have got another thing coming bucko.
"Just haven't paid attention enough to know me. Right?" I scoff crossing my arms.
"I know every part of you. I'd like to know then more…intim—"
"I hope that I didn't interrupt!" Officer Cabrera and his perfect timing. Spencer rolled his eyes.
"You are int—"
"No interruption at all, Rory." I smile at him.
"What can I do for you?" He smiles bashfully,
"I'm a bit parched. I was hoping for a soda." I smile remembering him offering me a soda after Spencer had just ripped my heart out on the absolute worse day of my life.
"Don't you have those pedestrian thermos for that?" Spencer scoffed indignantly. "Do you always make it a habit to stop by local businesses for a drink? If so there's a donut shop not far from here better suited for your needs."
"Ignore him, Rory. I do. Follow me." I link arms with the young officer but not before noticing the annoyance on Spencer's face.
"No you don't. What are you even talking about?" Spencer calls after us but this time, I do ignore him.
I get to know Rory over sparkling water. He's cute and funny. We both have a thing for being by the book.
"I don't know how I'm supposed to complete a task list when the task master hasn't finished going over it with me." One thing about Spencer is that he will use any opportunity to be petty. He barged into the break room that Rory and I were in talking about my role at the gallery/
"Are you free or are you too preoccupied with Officer Chuckles or was it Officer Thirsty? I'm a little confused." Spencer holds my gaze.
"I'm not surprised." I am very surprised by Rory's comeback but the look Spencer gives him is chilling. Then he smiles.
"You seem a bit confused yourself. Considering my family pays your salary. I suggest you watch your tone, Officer Parched. Your behavior is very unbecoming of a man in your position." I glare at him. He never misses an opportunity to use or throw his influence around.
"I will walk you out Rory." Spencer frowns.
"He's a cop. I don't see why that's necessary when I'm here needing to continue my restitution." He pouts like an insolent child.
"I won't be long, Spence. Call the love of your life so that she doesn't sniff you out. I'd prefer not to put up with the both of you tonight." I walk away with Rory in tow. Maybe I am not the best at flirting but I can use his jealous against him and his insipid girlfriend. A new plan is born. One way or another, I will drive Spencer Cassidine crazy enough to foil his girlfriend's plans. I have to wonder, though, am I risking my heart in the process.
