Okay guys, this is the final chapter of this story. I can't believe how long it has been since I began with this story and now I am putting it to an end. Once again, I want to thank you all for supporting me and sticking to this story even when it hasn't been updated in such a long time! Well enjoy the epilogue!
Yourself
Never could Uchiha Sasuke believe it. He never thought that he was going to end up in this situation and even enjoyed it. But, he couldn't ask for more.
Here he was, already at age thirty, lying in bed with the woman he fell in love with many years ago. He glanced at her and his lips curved into a smile that was barely visible. Her body was facing towards him and hugging the small figure in between them. With black spiky hair, the small child already resembled the Uchiha.
Their child was sound asleep and snuggled closer to his mother as he wanted more warmth from her.
Before getting up, he gave his wife and son a kiss on the forehead.
Quietly stepping down the stairs, he went to find something to read in the meantime while his family was sleeping. He could have prepared breakfast, but he would rather taste Hinata's cooking than his.
While running his fingers on the books' spine, he noticed a small book that was barely noticable compared to the others. Curious, he grabbed the book and noticed that it was a journal. Dusting it off, his eyes widen when he saw the cover. Though it was a bit tattered and not to its original shape, Sasuke could recognize it within a second.
In his hands was his journal that he had written in many years ago when he was just twelve, and now it was once again in his possession. The Uchiha thought that he lost it, but it was simply forgotten as the journal was put away once Sasuke was able to show his feelings to Hinata after he confessed his love for her.
He smirked. Without this journal, I don't know how I would have expressed my thoughts of her. Without it, I wouldn't be with Hinata.
"Daddy!" a voice cheered.
Sasuke turned around and saw his son running at him with his black eyes locked on his own. His smile was so wide that he could feel it. Kneeling down to pick him up, the boy jumped into his arms and hooked them around his neck. Backing his head away, his son flashed him a grin.
"How are you, Daddy?"
"Fine, Hotaru. You?"
"I'm good. But I would be better if I have some breakfast..." he trailed off as his stomach growled. Hotaru blushed at the sudden noise.
"Don't worry, I am going to make us some food," another voice said.
Sasuke peeked behind Hotaru and saw his wife standing in a black kimono that had the Uchiha clan's symbol on the back. She both gave them a smile and walked towards them. She gave her son a peck on the cheeks and then looked at him.
Even though they had been together for eighteen years, Hinata would still blush at him and he knew that she was going to kiss him.
And even to this day, her lips would tingle his and make it feel as it was the first time he kissed her.
Moving away, she glanced at her son and said, "Well, you want breakfast, right?"
Hotaru nodded. "Yes, Mommy!"
"Then you have to let go of Daddy then. He can't eat if he has you in his arms."
"Aw, but he is so nice and warm. And cuddly. And soft, and-."
"Alright, Hotaru, that's enough."
"But Daddy! Mommy always says that about you!"
Hinata blushed as bright as the sun. "I-I,"
"I know," he smirked. "I could tell."
"S-Sasuke-kun!"
"Breakfast?" he asked as he stared into her creamy eyes that captivated him ever since they were twelve.
"O-Okay..." she blushed and Sasuke poked her cheeks.
His wife nodded and made her way towards the kitchen as he set his son down. While watching his son taking a seat and talking to Hinata as she grabbed a pan and gracefully moved around the kitchen, Sasuke noticed that he still had his journal in his hands. He stared at it, not once opening it when he found it after all these years. He knew that he stopped writing in that journal and knew what it contained: cheesy love entries. He was twelve, how would he know how to write poetry or any sort of writing especially that was the time he was a cold-hearted bastard?
He sat on a pillow and continued to hold the journal. He didn't know why he still held it, but he felt as there was something needed to be added but he wasn't sure of what to write on. Everything about Hinata he loved was already written in there. His eyes soon trailed to his son, who was now playing with a set of toys that mimicked the tailed-beasts. Then, he looked at his wife. Before any sort of thoughts came to his head, he was suddenly pulled away from his mind and back to reality when he heard a knock on the door.
"Sasuke-kun, can you get that for me?" Hinata asked as she cracked a set of eggs opened.
He nodded. "Hn."
When he finally opened the door, a fist collided with his face. It took him a mere second to recognize that punch since it has already hit his face before.
"Obasan!" Hotaru sang as he ran to leap onto Tenten.
Rubbing his cheek, Sasuke glared at his cousin-in-law. "Why?"
"You haven't let us his Hotaru-kun in such a long time!" Tenten growled.
"Hyuuga, control your wife."
Neji smirked. "If I did, then she would have punched you again."
"Ojisan!" Hotaru cried as he did the same thing to Tenten.
Though they weren't exactly his aunt and uncle, they felt like it. Hotaru snuggled closer to Neji and sighed peacefully as the Hyuuga returned his gesture to the boy.
"Hotaru-kun, look who is here also!" Tenten said as someone behind her appeared.
A small child around the age of Hotaru with brown, short shaggy hair and white eyes moved away from his mom and in front of the small Uchiha. Sasuke almost let a small chuckle escape him as he noticed that the Hyuuga family were matching. All of them wore a white kimono.
Hotaru's lips formed into a sly smile. "Shiro."
The small Hyuuga smirked. "Hotaru."
"Neji-kun! Tenten-chan!" Hinata smiled and ran towards them, and gave them pecks on the cheeks. "Come join us to eat breakfast."
"Be glad to join," Tenten winked.
Neji and Sasuke glared at each other. Even to this day, Neji wasn't exactly happy that a Uchiha married his cousin, but he couldn't change Hinata's decision. They were together even after all these years and Neji couldn't allow his selfishness interrupt Hinata's happiness.
While they ate, Sasuke watched his family and in-laws socialize with each other. Tenten was talking about giving Hotaru and Shiro some lessons about precision when it comes to throwing kunais. He saw both children's eyes sparkle and leaned closer to her as she continued to give them some tips.
He glanced at his wife and Neji, who were quietly chatting away about life and how the Hyuuga was disappointed that Hotaru didn't carry the Byakugan in his blood, but instead the Sharingan. Hinata laughed at Neji's sadness, but they continued to chatter away. When Hinata gave birth to Hotaru and when he opened his eyes, Sasuke smiled when he saw black eyes stare back at him. He knew that Hotaru was a replica of him. By the looks of it, Sasuke could tell that Neji wanted to be the one to mentor his son. The Uchiha smirked as he drank his tea.
But when Tenten gave birth to Shiro, Neji couldn't be more proud that his son possessed the Byakugan.
Sasuke couldn't wait for to see which son was better.
"We are here!"
"Yes, Hotaru," Hinata said at him.
Sasuke saw his son run to the swing set as Hotaru's blue shirt and white shorts were wrinkling against the wind. But then noticed that there was another kid there. When they got closer to the playground, both noticed that there was a small pink-haired child with bright blue eyes wearing an orange dress with brown sandles. She immediately smiled when she saw Hotaru running to her.
"Hotaru-kun!" she beamed and ran to hug him.
The Uchiha notice the girl blushing when his son wrapped his arms around the tiny Uzumaki.
"Hey, Ame-chan," his son said cooly.
Sasuke could tell that his son also had returning feelings to the Uzumaki though he was five. As they watched their kid, Hinata pulled Sasuke into a small hug as she wrapped her arm around his waist. She snuggled into his blue kimono that matched hers causing him to look down and allow his arm pull her closer by wrapping it around her shoulder.
"Sasuke-kun!" a voice yelled. "Hinata-chan!"
Both of them turned around to see Sakura and Naruto waving at them. Sakura was wearing sleeveless red dress while Naruto wore his signature orange jumpsuit, but had a white robe over it. When they got closer, they all hugged each other expect Naruto and Sasuke, who just smirked at each other.
As Hinata and Sakura pushed their children on the swing set, and battled to see who can swing faster and higher thanks to their kids, Sasuke and Naruto watched from a distance.
He saw his family smiles grew as Hotaru cheered with each swing.
Sasuke didn't notice that the corners of his lips were moving slowly.
"Sasuke-teme," a voice interrupted him.
He turned his head. "Hn?"
"Can you believe it?"
"What?"
"Look what is in front of us," Naruto stated.
Sasuke looked where the Sixth Hokage was staring at and watched.
"I can't believe we got the women of our dreams. Well, I did. I couldn't believe that Sakura-chan would fall in love with me. I just didn't know how."
"Baka, you persuaded her through your persistance."
"Well, Lee has persistance."
"You are different."
"Aw, you are giving me a compliment?"
"Hn," Sasuke smirked. "No. The real reason she married you was that you actually had normal eyebrows."
"You teme!"
"You wanted the truth."
"Whatever," he pouted as he crossed his arms. Naruto looked at Sasuke again and noticed that he had his eyes set on Hinata and Hotaru. Though Sasuke didn't notice himself, Naruto did as he saw a tiny smile that was on his best friend's face.
"Hey, Sasuke-teme."
"What?"
"I am glad that you got what you wanted."
His head snapped to see Naruto giving him one of the most genuine smiles.
"When you first confessed about you liking Hinata-chan, I thought that you were crazy. But I was wrong. You two were the first that found love and the first to marry and have a child. And it is still as if it just begun. So I am glad that you have a family, Sasuke."
Sasuke just stared at him and nodded. "You too."
The two looked back to see their families playing tag.
Naruto then smirked and chuckled. "And besides, Sasuke-teme...I can't wait to attend your son and my daughter's wedding."
Silence.
Thump!
"What the hell was that for Sasuke-teme! You know that it is going to happen!"
"Otousan, why are you on the floor?"
"Naruto, did you piss off Sasuke-kun?!"
It was nighttime and Hotaru was already fast asleep in his own bed. Giving a kiss goodnight, Hinata slowly left the room and closed the door behind her.
"Fast asleep," she said.
"Good," Sasuke murmured as he wrapped his arms around her waist and pull her into a kiss.
He could feel her body tense for a bit due to the surprise kiss that he planted on her, but she immediately calmed and return the gestured. He smiled against her lips and lifted her up to carry his wife into their bedroom.
Setting themselves onto the bed, they continued their kisses as they entwined their hands together. Then, suddenly their clothes found their way onto the floor.
Uchiha Sasuke still couldn't believe it. Even after all these years, he still thought that he was in a dream, but he wasn't as he glanced at Hinata who was snuggled against his bare chest and breathing out warm air onto him.
He ran his fingers through her soft hair and sighed. Everything about her was perfect. Her blush, her smile, her laugh, her hair, her eyes, her breath, her cheeks, her hugs, her body, her grace, her care, her strength, and her lips.
Suddenly, there was an idea in his head.
Carefully moving himself away from Hinata, he quietly went downstairs and saw the journal sitting on the dinner table. Grabbing it along with a pen, he opened the journal and skimmed through it.
He smirked and shook his head when he saw the embarrassing entries he had written when he was just a child.
Flipping through the pages, he noticed that he had a few left and flipped to a blank page. Staring at it, couldn't believe that he was going to write in this again after eighteen years of setting it aside.
With a pen, he started to write.
Entry 15
Everyday, I always think that it is a dream that I have you, but I am always proven wrong. I find myself lucky to have you. You make me feel something that I never had and I find myself always seeking you. Now after all these years, it is still the same. Your blush still almost makes me blush and smirk. Your laugh is like a melody to my ears. Your smile always somehow tells my own lips to smile. Your hair is just as soft as it was when I first felt it. Your eyes still captivate me to this day that I secretly wished that our son possessed your eyes. Her breath provides me warm and makes me feel addicted to kiss you. Your cheeks are still fun to pinch and poke. Your hugs make me feel wanted and protected. Your body grew into desirable curves that any man wants to have. Your grace is still something to wonder about as you make cooking look beautiful. Your care makes me feel loved and I also see it through our child. Your strength is still present and stronger than ever. And your lips, it makes me feel each time that it is our first kiss. You simply make me feel everything. You...yourself...is all I need.
Sasuke smiled as his looked what he had written. He finally felt as if the journal received its closure and perhaps that one day, his son might stumble upon it and may find some inpsiration to woo Uzumaki Ame. And maybe, his wife may find this journal and see what she means to him. But she doesn't have to read it since everyday she sees it.
Closing the book and setting back to its position on the bookshelf, Sasuke smirked and returned to his room.
Entering the room he noticed a three figures outside his window.
"You got to be kidding me," Sasuke said to himself.
"Kakashi, why are we still here?"
"Kurenai, this is valuable information."
"For what? They are married and we don't have to be here anymore to support them to be together. Can't we just go home early for once?"
"But-,"
"Please?"
"Only if Ginsei agrees," looking over his shoulder, Kakashi waited for the twelve-year old's reply.
The silver-haired boy simply looked at him with red eyes. Literally. His whole eyes were entirely red thanks to his genes and also the fact that he was tired.
"Dad, I want to go home," their son whined.
Kurenai carried her son and jumped off the tree. "See you at home, Kakashi."
"Kurenai! Ginsei! Wait!"
Suddenly the window next to Kakashi opened. "Kakashi, can you shut the hell up and go home for once. Leave my family alone."
His former student glared at him while Kakashi smiled underneath his mask. "I saw that you wrote into your journal."
"Yeah, so?"
"Useful, huh? Even after all these years?"
"Go home," Sasuke said as he shut his window.
Going underneath the bed sheets, he put himself back to the same place where he was a couple of minutes ago. He glanced at Hinata and placed a quick kiss on the lips.
And he felt it return.
Fin.
