Prologue

Seven

A celebration was held in the kingdom. Villagers celebrating in the streets for another victorious outcome in the war. People were merrily drinking and eating, shouts of good health and longevity for the soldiers and royal family that was part of this triumphant victory.

In the great hall, a similar banquette was held. Aristocrats and soldiers celebrate with food and drinks. There, a pink-haired servant struggles to refill cups of wine to the palace's guests. She spills some wine due to the rowdiness of the crowd but because they were in such good spirits, they simply ignored her mistakes before continuing their celebration.

Not long after, King Fugaku cleared his throat before raising a glass. The guests all turn to him.

"A toast for my eldest, prince Itachi, for successfully conquering the West. A grueling year but we came out victorious!" He announces proudly before coaxing his son to stand for the crowd. Cheers erupted and everyone followed suit before clinking their glasses. There, the youngest prince also cheered, proud eyes shining for his brother.

While everyone was busy, the pink-haired servant took a small break in the corner of the hall. While everyone was looking at prince Itachi, she was looking for prince Sasuke. She stares at the young prince.

Two worlds apart but deep in her heart she knows that there is something special connecting her to him. An invisible pull, like how the moon pulls the tide.

Or perhaps it is because of his looks, or she simply lacks socializing with children her own age, there is not much seven-year-olds you see in the palace after all. She can't explain why but she is incredibly mesmerized by the young prince. Of course, everyone too adored him and the royal family, but the young maid knows this connection she feels with him is different than simple adoration.

"Sakura, get back to work." A woman said to the young pinkette, making her come back from her trance. Sakura shakes her head from thoughts of the prince and continued to serve trays of food for the banquette.

That night, the young prince sneaks from his bedroom to see his brother. It has been a while since they last talked, as his arrival from war made his brother busier from paperwork and meetings. This is the only time he could spend time with him, so he hurriedly ran.

Now, the Uchiha bloodline was known for their sharp eyes but due to the prince's excitement, he did not notice the sudden appearance of someone when he turned a corner. Both stumbled on the ground, the mysterious person clutching her head because of pain.

Sasuke finally took notice of this person, a pink haired child, around his own age, in front of him. He carefully observes her, fascinated by her hair because he has never seen hair like that before.

A groan from her brought him back from his muses. He quickly stood up and held out his hand for her. The pinkette reluctantly took it, still massaging her temples with her other hand. When they are both upright, it is then Sakura notices who is in front of her.

Her eyes grew and Sasuke can clearly see the green in her eyes with just the moon to light up the dark halls. Sakura bowed low before apologizing to the prince. Sasuke does not understand why but he feels irritated by this. Not because of earlier, but rather he feels annoyance seeing her bow down to him. It's strange, he does not even know her.

He tells her to raise her head before he inspects her forehead, looking for injuries. Sakura froze, never been this close to the prince before. She can physically feel the pull he has on her.

"Are you hurt?" he asks.

Before she can reply, another figure approaches them.

Prince Itachi appears. Sakura bowed to the oldest prince before hurriedly running back to where she came from. Itachi does not miss how Sasuke watches as the pink-haired girl runs away from them.

"You should be asleep, otouto." Itachi teasingly said but he already knows that his little brother has been looking for him. Sasuke flashes him his biggest smile before dragging him to his room, eager to hear the stories of how his big brother bravely fought in the war.

Behind the wall, Sakura hides herself. Peaking in the corner to see her moon walk away.
