Chapter 14
Ari P.O.V.
We were half way home when mam started a conversation.
"Well, I knew you were involved with a guy, but I didn't think it was very serious." She said.
"What you mean, ma?"
"Well, you were so set on not having sex until after you were married."
I chocked, "How did you-?"
"Call it mothers intuition. I knew when Zoë did it too." She admitted. "I have a sort of sixth sense when it comes to my girls. So, what's he like?"
"I'm not giving you details ma! Even if you do act more like a best friend than a mother sometimes!"
"No! Not in bed you silly plonker! As a person!"
I went beet red and let exhaled deeply. "He's amazing! As you know, he's also a feral, with a healing factor, and he's very over protective."
"How so?"
"Well, just before we got together, some guys came on to me, and he well and truly beat the crap out of them," slight understatement, but not a lie, I couldn't lie to my parents. "and, he also made sure that I was never on my own for very long."
"Is he kind? Does he take care of you?"
"Yeah, to both questions, he took me to Sacramento, you know?"
"That was nice of him."
"Dad knows that we're seeing each other, but he does not know about, the more… intimate part of our relationship."
"I'm not surprised, he's blind to these sorts of things. But you aren't going to discover that you're pregnant, are you?"
"I came on, on the plane ma." I assured her.
"Well good, you still have school to finish, and University. You have a bright future ahead of you."
"I know ma, I know."
We finished the rest of the journey in silence and when we pulled up at the house, I gasped at what I saw in the drive way.
"Oh. My. God." I breathed. It was a motorbike a Honda DN-01, in graphite black and amethyst purple. I was in love instantly.
I jumped out of the car, as soon as it stopped and ran over to the bike. I ran over to it and ran my hand over the paint work reverently.
"It arrived this morning. There's things to go with it inside. Come on."
Mam led me inside where I saw a large box sitting on the table. I walked over to it and saw my name and address printed on it. I used my claws to open it. The first thing I picked out of the box was a note.
Kitten,
I said you were getting to good not to have one of your own, so here it is. I picked it out myself, and had my friend Mort sort out all the paperwork, you're already licensed. I've also managed to get hold of the right kit for you, I had to guess your size, but I think I could guess it pretty well after all the time we spent getting to know each other. I know you don't really need it, but you don't want to draw too much attention to yourself. So hit the road and enjoy yourself.
I'll see you when I can,
Victor Creed.
I set the note aside, and picked out the next item in the box. It was a helmet, it was one of the ones that entirely encircled your head. It was mostly black, but had deep purple Celtic designs on it. The visor was tinted black, so no one would be able to see my face, I grinned, I was definitely going to make an impression when school started back. I then looked at the leathers. The jacket was, again, mainly black, but on the inside of the arms and the sides of the jacket, there were purple flames. The trousers were black leather, and so were the calf high boots. The gloves were black, with purple Celtic designs.
I was grinning as I looked at my mam. "I take it you won't be taking the bus to school anymore?" she asked.
"Only if I absolutely have to." I grinned.
"We'll go get your uniform tomorrow. Now, how about that hot chocolate?"
She made us both drinks, and we sat down to talk.
