Tragic Life Changes Lead To New Beginnings

Chapter 1: Tragic Ending (Rough draft which includes grammar mistakes).

After the plane crashed, Meredith lost two people that mattered most to her. Her best friend, her person, Christina, and her husband and the father of her daughter, Derek. Christina had been crushed by the plane, and with her last breath, she made Meredith promise to help Owen through it. She made her promise to always be there for Owen no matter what. Derek had tried to help lift the plane off of Christina before he died, and when he couldn't, he felt like a failure because he couldn't save his wife's best friend.

A little while after Christina died, everyone noticed that something was wrong with Derek and as it turned out, he was bleeding into his chest. Lexie and Mark helped him as best they could, but to be honest, they weren't sure that Derek would make it out of the woods. It was a heartbreaking thought, but it was there.

They were in the woods for a week before they were found, and were airlifted to Boise Hospital. After the crash that claimed her best friend's life, Meredith was trying to keep it together but before too long, her husband slipped into a coma, and it was heartbreaking. It was the hardest thing that she has ever witnessed. Zola was begging her daddy to wake up, and she couldn't understand why he wouldn't. Meredith didn't have it in her to explain to her baby that her father might not wake up.

After Christina's death, Meredith thought she would be prepared for anything, but in truth, she wasn't. Her husband died when he seemed like he would recover. As it turned out, it was the surge, and shortly after, he slipped into a coma. They had been hoping that he would wake before thirty days were up, but sadly that did not happen. When he took his last breath, Meredith's world crashed and Owen and Mark had to hold her up as she collapsed while Lexie looked on holding Zola. It was the most heartbreaking thing anyone has seen Meredith go through.

When she went home that night, Meredith looked around the house she grew up in, took Zola, and left the house. She knew Derek wanted her to live in the house he built her, and it was furnished with everything they could ever need, so Meredith drove out there with Owen. She couldn't be in the house that she had memories of Derek in, but she would do what he wanted, and live in the house he had built them. She was greatful that they hadn't moved into the dream house together because she knew that she wouldn't have survived that.

Owen and the others looked out for her and Zola as they healed. It would take time, but Meredith and Owen would find love with someone they least expected.
