Chapter 23

Ari P.O.V

Downstairs, mam made us both sit down, and started handing out presents. There were quite a few left under the tree for Zoe, James and Autumn.

Afterwards, we had breakfast and got dressed, and mam and I went to church. Vic opted out, he wasn't religious at all.

At Church, every woman there kept asking to see my ring. We were only a small congregation, so it wasn't too bad, and I'd known them all since I was a baby.

When mam and I went home, mam started on food, and told me and Vic, to stay out of the kitchen. So, we sat down on the sofa, with me curled up, and Vic's arm resting comfortably around me.

We sat watching the TV peacefully, until my sister came, at which time, Autumn jumped on me.

"Kitty, aunty Ari! Kitty!" She squeeled happily.

"Ok, Calm down a little, and let me up. You cant play with kitty, unless you let me up first." I reasoned.

She quickly got off me, and I stood up, stretched and turned into a snow leopard.

Autumn squeeled once again, as I lay down on the floor, and she clambered onto my back.

I stood up, and gave her a ride around the living room and dinning room. She was laughing like mad, her small hands holding tightly to my thick fur.

I walked round the two rooms three times, before stopping by the Christmas tree, and lying down once again. Autumn slid off, and I nudged a present towards her. She picked it up, and unwrapped it. It was a doll, that had red cloth hair, and was dressed in green, as a river dancer.

"Thank you Aunty Ari!" She smiled, and wrapped her arms around my neck, and buried her face in my thick fur. I wrapped a paw around her back, hugging her back.

"Ooh, wait there! I have to take a picture of this! It's sooo cute!" Zoe said.

Once we heard the click, and saw the flash in the corner of our eyes, we pulled back, and Autumn went straight back to opening presents. I changed back, and sat back down next to Vic, who wrapped his arms around my shoulders.

"That was kind of cute." Vic whispered in my ear.

"Yeah well, she loves it, and I just love to indulge her."

"You'll spoil her rotten."

"Nah, Zoe will make sure she keeps her head screwed on straight." I said.

"Your right. It's our kids I'll be worried for."

"You want kids?" I could tell my face had lit up like the Christmas tree in the corner of the room.

"Of course I do. But only when you feel up to it."

I hugged him. "I love you Vic." I said quietly, so only he'd hear.

"And I you kitten." He replied.

It wasn't long after that, that my mam called us all to dinner. The only thing that would have made the day better for me, would have been if I'd actually seen my dad, but you can't have everything I guess. But you could get damn close to it.
