Chapter 26
Ari P.O.V
When we reached the office, I knocked on the door.
"Come in." I heard Mrs. Roberts call.
Cari opened the door, and we followed her in. All the visitors from America were gathered around the table in her office.
"Ah, great! Just the people I was looking for!" Mrs Roberts said. "Please, sit down."
We did, and she started the introductions.
"Professor Xavier, these are Cari Davies, Ari Evans, Faith Lewis, Patrick O'Connell and Mark Hutchings. They are some of our most outstanding pupils, and are the only mutants in our upper Sixth form. Every one, this is Professor Charles Xavier, headmaster of Xaviers school for gifted youngsters, and two of his teaching staff, Ororo Monroe and Logan, and four of their pupils, Bobby Drake, John Allerdyce, Kitty Pryde and… Rogue is it. Yes Rogue, I would like you to show them around while they are visiting."
I nodded, and knew my friends copied me. "We can do that." Mark said.
"Yeah." Paddy quipped.
After that, Mrs Roberts told the visitors a little bit more about the school, and then it was up to us to show them around.
Through the whole meeting in the Head's office, I saw that Logan kept shooting glances at Cari. I also couldn't shake the feeling that I'd met Miss Monroe and Logan before. When I stepped out of the office, I remembered. They'd offered me a place at their school, after Logan had attempted to attack Vic.
We were halfway own the main corridor, when Miss Monroe spoke up.
"You look familiar to me, Ari, have we met before?" she asked.
"She's the girl who was with Sabertooth." Logan answered for me.
"I'm surprised you recognized me." I said. "I've changed."
Cari snorted. "You can say that again, whatever happened to quiet, shy Arianwen?"
I rolled my eyes. "So, what do you want to see first, there's the science labs, the English department, I.T department, R.E. department, History department, Welsh department, modern languages department, the maths department cooking rooms, and the music rooms?"
"Oh, also the sports facilities." Paddy added for me.
"Well, how about the Science labs?" Professor Xavier asked.
"This way then." Mark said. This was where he and Cari took over the tour. They told the visitors all about the things the science department put on. I pitched in with some things from Biology, but not much. I did give them quite a shock, however, when I stepped in to help one of the year eights light their Bunsen burner. They were having trouble lighting their match, so I walked over to them.
"Is this on, yes it is, I can smell the gas." I completely ignored the fact that there was allot of gas, and Faith's cry of, "NO, ARI!"
I summoned a flame to my hand and lit the Bunsen burner. A flame shot up, and singed the ceiling, before calming down. Luckily, nothing caught fire.
"Oopsie, I knew there was a reason I didn't continue with any of the sciences." I looked at the teacher sheepishly. "Sorry." I said.
"Just stay out of the lab when there's something flammable around." He said.
"Yes sir!" I did a mock salute, and hurried out of the room, and the department. Logan was the next one out, no one followed him.
"What did you do?" I asked.
"I don't like labs much."
"Ahh, I see. Well, I'm not too fond on them either. I've heard the stories."
"Sabertooth tell you?"
"He told me some."
"He close by right now?"
"He left a few days ago, why?"
"I can smell him on you as if he were with you little over an hour ago."
I snorted. "I wish."
"He's probably using you, you know?"
My temper flared and I reached up to my shirt collar, and pulled it down, revealing my mark. "Is he now?"
Logan stared at it for a moment, in shock. "You're his…?"
"Mate? Yes, I am. Which is probably why you can smell him on me. Oh, and by the way, I've seen the way you keep glancing at Cari."
"I do not-"
"Yes you do, and I'm warning you, you hurt her, you're dead." With that, we remained in silence, until the others finished the tour of the labs.
