Chapter 28
Ari P.O.V
The three of us took the last three seats in the back, next to Faith and Paddy. When everyone was settled, Mrs Roberts introduced Professor Xavier.
"Well, hello everyone, I'm very glad to meet you all." He began. "As Mrs Roberts stated, I am Professor Xavier and I am the head teacher of a school for mutants in America. There, not only do we teach the normal curriculum, but we also teach mutants how to control and use their abilities. It is a safe haven for any mutants who wish to attend, or even just visit. It came to my attention a while ago, that your school has a load more mutants attending, than is usually normal, so your teachers and I have been in contact, trying to set up an exchange program of sorts. You will be all be given the visit the school yearly, and to have constant contact with students at my school. Now, we have leaflets, and a consent form for you to take home to your parents, if you are interested. Any questions?"
One girl in year eleven raised her hand. "How come we've never heard of your school before. If it's a safe haven for mutants, as you say, why don't you advertise?"
"Well, as you probably know, there are allot of people who are very unfriendly towards mutants. Were they to find out about the schools true nature, then the school would become a prime target for attacks. So, we use the pretence of a school for gifted youngsters."
The girl seemed satisfied with that answer. A few more questions were asked, and several were directed to Rogue, Kitty, Pyro and Bobby, about the school, and how they had been helped with their powers.
When everyone was done, most picked up a leaflet, and a consent form. They left then, with the exception of me and my four friends, who'd been asked to stay behind.
"I'd like to thank you for taking the time to show us around." The Professor said. "Also, I know it isn't my place to intrude, but something seems to be bothering all of you."
The five of us looked at each other nervously. I bit my lip, unsure whether we could trust them with this, but help was help, and I didn't know how long it would take to contact Vic.
Cari looked at me. I shrugged. "It's a big problem. We can't solve it on our own."
"What about-?" she began
I shook my head, cutting her off. "Could take a while to get a message through to him. He cant risk whoever he's looking for finding out he's on his trail. I don't know how long it'll take until he checks his email."
"We don't know who's behind it though." Paddy pointed out.
"Experiments?" I pointed out. "Not going to be other mutants."
"Ari has a point." Faith said.
"I agree. We need help." Mark said.
"Faith. It was your vision." Cari said.
Faith nodded, and turned to face the Professor. "You're a telepath right?"
"Yes, I am." He answered.
"Well, it might be easier if I just show you the vision I had. Bear in mind, the things I see, happen in chronological order. The first two have already happened, because the second happened this morning."
The professor nodded, and motioned for Faith to take a seat. She did, and pulled the chair so that she was just diagonally in front of him. The professor placed his hands to Faith's temples. After two minutes, he pulled away.
"Well, that is worrying. Someone who used to be a friend of yours, told them about you?" the professor asked.
"That's Edith for you." I said bitterly, as I sat on the large table.
"What's going on?" Logan asked, looking at the professor.
"We're going to become lab rats." Mark said darkly.
"Don't think like that!" Cari said, and she hit him over the back of the head. "Faith has managed to prove her visions wrong before!"
"Cari's right Mark. We have the opportunity to stop this happening. Seer's visions aren't infallible." I pointed out.
"I know that Tiger. But you know what I'm like."
Logan laughed. "Sabertooth and Tiger. Who would have thought?" He said sarcastically.
"Oh shut up." I snarled.
"Arianwen, be nice!" Cari scolded. I stuck my lip out in a pout. "Apologise!"
I looked at Logan. "Sorry." I said begrudgingly.
"Well, I'm sure we will be more than able to help you stay out of the hands of those scientists." The professor said. "I'll make a call, and get a few more of my teaching staff over here."
"No offence or anything," Paddy said. "But what can teachers do to help us?"
"Well, along with teaching, and providing a safe haven for mutants, I have started a team that fight for mutant rights and protection. The X- Men."
