Chapter 32
Ari P.O.V
I was always in pain now. My healing factor still worked, but I didn't get enough time off experiments to rest enough for the last wounds I'd sustained to stop throbbing, before the next 'tests' would begin. I seriously, would rather be sitting an A-Level Maths exam right now, and I dropped Maths more than two years ago!
I had no idea how long I had been in here. It could have been a matter of days, or it could have been weeks, I had no idea.
But I had a plan, and even if it didn't work, they hadn't taken my necklace from me. So, there I was, in my cell, communicating with Cari, through a code me we both had devised in year ten, through telepathy.
Luckily, Cari wasn't in as bad a state as me, and believed that she may be able to teleport us out of this place. We had no idea where the others were, but we could get a location on each other, through the 'link' we'd set up.
I had to hide the smirk that came to my face when my cell door opened. This would be the last time they'd ever come and drag me out of this cell. The two guards I'd gotten used to seeing, came in and dragged me out. I didn't make it easy for them. They'd gotten the idea after the first three times they'd told me to get out of my cell. So they came in, and dragged me out. I resigned myself to one last time of torture- sorry, I mean tests, just as I saw Cari appear in front of me and the guards.
She knocked them both out with a couple of well aimed punches, and caught me before I hit the floor.
She brought me to my feet, and slung one of my arms over her shoulders. She teleported us out of there.
The cold wind hit my face, and I shivered, but then I smelt and heard the sea.
"Where are we?" I asked.
"Just outside Cardigan town. Near my caravan." Cari answered. "Come on." She started to guide me to the caravan site.
"Why did you come here? Edith knew about the caravan."
"She knew about the old caravan. She didn't know we changed it to this place. You're the only one who me and my parents have brought up here, remember?"
"Oh yeah. Listen, Cari, something I didn't factor into our planning before, Vic placed a tracker on me. So we'll probably have a visitor some point soon."
"Right, well, we'll deal with that later." Cari said.
It took us half an hour, but we eventually hit the lane that wound to the small caravan site. When our feet hit grass, I sighed in relief. We'd made it.
We made our way to the fourth of five caravans on the plot, each of which had a great view of the sea. Cari leaned down under it, and pulled out a key that had been stuck to the bottom.
"Had a feeling I would need this." She unlocked the door, and we clambered inside. She shut the door, and we went to the bedroom we'd shared the last time we'd been here.
"I'm so glad you persuaded me to leave some things down here." I said, as I pulled the clothes I'd left here last time out of the cupboard.
"I just had a hunch. And Faith text me." she explained.
"She must have seen that we'd need it at some point." I suggested. "What now?"
"We get changed, I take the money I have stashed here, pop into town and get supplies for us. We work out a plan from there."
"I'll come with you." I said.
"You should stay here. That way, Victor will be able to track you better, without having to track you through town."
I nodded. "You're right. Just don't be long."
"I won't, I'll teleport." Cari said, as she put a cap on that threw allot of her face into shadow. "I'll be back as soon as possible." And she was gone.
No P.O.V
"Stop!" Toad almost yelled.
"What is it Toad?" Sabertooth growled.
"Her signal just jumped, we're heading towards the wrong place. She must have teleported out of there."
"Good girl." Sabertooth growled out. A horn honked behind them. He had reluctantly allowed the X-Men to follow him. That way they could get the others out, leaving him free to concentrate on his kitten. He looked at the device, that was showing Arianwen's location. He swung the car round, and headed in the new direction.
