Chapter 34
Ari P.O.V
I was curled up against Victors side, with his arm secuerly wrapped around me.
"So, you two used your telepathy to talk in code, and using that, escaped from a seemingly high tech facility, via teleportation?" Cyclops asked, clarifying what Cari and I had just told him.
"Well, Cari teleported. I wasn't in any fit state to do it at the time." I corrected.
"You can heal though, right?" Jean asked.
"Yeah, but take into account I hadn't eaten, and all the tests. My healing factor only got back to normal after I had something to eat, when we got here."
I felt a growl rumble in Vic's throat, but he refrained from commenting.
"So, do you have any idea where the place we were kept at may be?" Cari asked.
"Not yet, but we'll make a quick call to the Professor. He's gone back to America, so that if we couldn't find you, he could use Cerebro to track you down, and then he'd be able to tell us where to go." Jean explained.
"What is Cerebro exactly?" I asked.
"It's a machine that enhances the Professors telepathic abilities. Using it, he can find any mutant, anywhere in the world. Finding Faith, Paddy and Mark should be no problem." Storm said.
"When the Professor's located them, we'll head there, free them, and any other mutants that are being kept there." Cyclops said.
"I'm coming with you." Cari said.
"Me too." I said.
"Not gonna happen." Vic said.
"What? Why?" I asked.
"It's too dangerous. I don't want you getting hurt." He said.
"Those are my friends they have locked up! And I can heal! Give me and Cari a chance to rest, and let us have a bit more food, and we're more than capable of helping! Please Vic?" I looked up at him, and made my eyes round, and pleading.
He made the mistake of looking at me. I could always get what I wanted with a certain look. He sighed. "Fine. But you stay close to me at all times, and do exactly as I say. Got it?"
"Got it." I replied.
"Are eight people going to be enough?" Cari asked.
"I was under the impression that there were seven." Logan said.
"You aren't counting me out of this. I have the exact same argument as Ari, and I have several powers myself. No one, is going to stop me from tagging along."
"But neither of you are even eighteen!" Storm said.
I shrugged. "Still doesn't mean we're less involved in this. If I remember correctly, it was us who were used as experiments, and it's our friends who are still being experimented on. We have every right to help out."
"She's right." Toad said.
"Both of you stay close to someone at all times." Cyclops said. "If you're coming with us, then at least be with someone with some experience."
"Fine by me." Cari said. "So long as I get to see some action."
"I agree." I said.
" I'll go make that call." Cyclops said. He stood up, and left the caravan.
I yawned.
"Bed." Vic said.
"But-"
"Like you said earlier, you need rest if you're tagging along." he argued.
"Fine." I grumbled. "Coming Cari?"
"Sure." We both stood up, and left to her bedroom, where we both grabbed one of the two beds, and closed our eyes.
I lay awake for ages though, listening as the others made plans on how to rescue the others. I had a feeling that I wasn't alone, as Cari's breathing wasn't quite regular, like it would be in sleep.
It was a few hours later when I eventually fell asleep.
