Summary: After her name comes out of the Goblet of Fire, Dorea and her adoptive family react, especially her big brother, Cedric Diggory. You see, Dorea gained a family at the end of her first year after they save her from her relative's abuse. Now, it was time that the world knew that Dorea had people that loved and cared about her, and they wouldn't stand for anyone harming her in any way.
A/N: This is something completely different. If it goes on forever, I will separate it into different stories. I hope you like it. Enjoy...Oh, and the girl in the pic is who I am envisioning as Dorea.
Chapter 1: Changing Dorea's Life
Dorea Potter had a secret. A secret that she has had since she was eleven years old. You see, after her first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, her life got a lot better. At the end of that year, Dorea knew her life was going to be hell of earth at her relatives. She knew Hagrid meant well, but when he used magic against her cousin, she knew he had scared and angered the Dursley family, enough to cause them to seriously harm her.
It turned out she was right. They hadn't even waited until they left the platform. Vernon took her by the arm and started beating her until she was almost unconscious. Thankfully, a very old family by the name of Diggory saved her.
When they witnessed what was happening to her, the Diggory's made sure the Dursley family paid. They were now doing prison time for child neglect, child abuse, child endangerment, and embezzlement of the Potter Estate. They placed the information under a very old charm, so Dumbledore couldn't intervene. They then adopted her, and from then on, her name was Dorea Clementine Potter-Diggory, heiress of the Noble and Ancient House of Potter.
Dorea had been so very angry when she found out just how much she had, and that the vault that Griphook had shown her had been her trust vault that was refilled with £5,000 Galleons every year on her birthday from the time she was born. So by the time she returned to the wizarding world, she had £50,000 Galleons in her trust vault. She had been shocked, but needless to say, she had gone on a shopping spree so she would have everything she needed, but that was the first and last time the Diggory's had allowed her to purchase anything unless it was for gifts and such.
And as it turned out, that if a family didn't have a living relative, they could leave their fortunes, and everything that goes with it to someone they thought would deserve it. So, Dorea was now a very wealthy witch. The wealthiest in the world. She got even more money when she sold the carcass of the basilisk that she had killed in her second year. Granted, she had been grounded for the entire summer, but it had been worth it because she got to split what she earned from the basilisk with the other victims.
Dorea hadn't needed the money so she created something that would allow muggleborns and muggle-raised students to get the protection and security they needed. It was called The Potter Evans Protection Trust. Anyone that benefitted from the Trust, were under the protection of House Potter.
Dorea had goals to better the Wizarding World and provide more Rights for those brought up in the Muggle World. Hell, she has already made her friends, the Weasley family, trustees of the Potter House, as long as they vowed to remain true to the Potter family values, which were family, friendship, protection, guideness, loyalty, honesty, and fairness. Those values were something Dorea held in very high regard.
Then the following year, Dorea's life changed again. She was reunited with Remus Lupin and Sirius Black. They had been best friends with her parents. Sirius had broken out of Azkaban to hunt down the traitor that sold her and her parents out to Voldemort. But the past twelve years, Sirius was imprisoned in Azkaban for crimes he hadn't done. But thankfully, at the end of Dorea's third year, Sirius was cleared of all charges, and Peter Pettigrew was given the Dementor's Kiss for betraying her parents.
But while Dorea loved Sirius, she hadn't wanted to leave her family, so with his blessing, Amos and Elizabeth legally adopted her, both in blood and on paper. Dorea now had four parents, two of which, were sadly deceased, but from what she has been told, they would have been happy that she now had people willing to love and take care of her. Sirius had also blood adopted her, and made her the Heiress of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black, due to Azkaban making him sterile.
Dorea was thankful that she no longer looked like her father's twin. She still had black hair, but instead of it being messy like before, it now had a beautiful natural wave, with blonde and brown highlights from Amos and Elizabeth, and she was taller from Sirius's side of the family. Her eyes had also now had silver, brown, and blue making her jade green eyes a more hazel color. Now when people looked at her, they saw Dorea and not a carbon copy of her father.
On the other hand, Amos and Elizabeth were making her attend therapy sessions with Andromeda Tonks, a Mind Healer to help Dorea cope and heal from the trauma of the first ten years of the terrible upbringing she endured with the Dursley relatives. Dorea didn't like it and truthfully, she hated it, but she couldn't say it didn't help. Every day got better a little at a time. She understood the sessions were helping her, so she wouldn't have emotional problems later in life.
Anyway, Dorea was dreading this coming year. She knew something was going to happen like it did every year, and she knew this promised to be worse than the others. And considering the prophecy she heard the previous year, she knew it was going to involve Voldemort and his minions.
Dorea wished more than anything that she was just like everyone else but that wasn't going to happen. She knew she wasn't supposed to know yet, but she knows that there is a prophecy connecting her and Voldemort by fate. Good vs Evil. She also knew that he was the last descendant of Antioch, the oldest Peverell brother, who had been just like Voldemort. A power-hungry Megalomaniac. While Dorea was the last descendant of Ignotus, the youngest Peverell brother, who had been just like her. A humble and kind person.
It was Good vs Evil on an entirely different scale but Dorea knew that with her family and friends by her side, she would win this fight that she knew was coming.
Chapter 2: Unexpected Reactions
Dorea knew she had been right when she said that this year promised to be worse than the last when her name came out of the Goblet of Fire. But the second she heard Ron call her a cheat, someone who she made a trustee of House Potter, she told him he was cut off until he learned not to jump to the conclusions. And when she heard the other Gryffindor's call her a cheat, she declared for everyone to hear that she was no longer a part of the Gryffindor house until they learned the true values of the Gryffindor characteristics.
Everyone in the Great Hall was shocked beyond measure, but Dorea wasn't done. As she made her way to the separate room off of the Great Hall, she did something no one was expecting.
"I, Dorea Clementine Potter-Diggory, hereby swear on my magic that I did not enter my name into the Goblet of Fire, nor ask any witch or wizard, or magical being or creature to enter my name into the Goblet of Fire. So mote it be," before casting the Patronus Charm stunning everyone when a stag pranced around the room before Dorea canceled the charm and left the room.
"Dorea, what are you doing here?" Cedric asked rushing towards his little sister.
"My annual crash with Halloween," was all she said before he nodded. After hearing the stories of the last few years, he knew Dorea had plenty of reason to believe someone was out to get her.
Cedric was about to say something when the Headmaster and the Tournament commodity rushed into the room.
"Miss Potter, when did the Diggory's adopt you?" Professor McGonagall asked her favorite student.
"The end of my first year. They saw how the Dursleys treated me and got me out before they could do anything worse," she gave the cliff's note version.
"If my sister is forced to compete, and anything happens to her, I will request that my parents, declare blood feud with anyone involved," Cedric promised.
"Do I have to compete?" she asked.
"Yes. Someone did a very good job at placing your magical signature, so you now have to compete or risk losing your magic," Dumbledore said trying to come up with a way to reverse the adoption, but knowing it would be a lost cause just as Snape opened his mouth.
"No one is to blame aside from Potter. She can't help but want to be in the spotlight," he went on to say more but he noticed Cedric and Dorea had their wands pointed at him.
"If you say one more word against my little sister, you will be out of this school so fast your head will spin," Cedric said as he moved to stand in front of Dorea.
"No need. I know something about him that would see him in Azkaban or even receive the Dementor's Kiss for his part in the deaths of two war heroes. And if he isn't careful, I will call in the life debt he owes my father," she said smirking as he paled in horror now knowing that Dorea knew about his part in her parent's deaths.
"Keep him on a leash, Headmaster," Cedric said smirking.
"But to get back on topic, are you making me compete?" Dorea asked.
"Sadly, you have no choice," Crouch said and Dorea had a hard time not losing her temper with the very person who put her Godfather in prison without a trial.
"Just so I have this clear, three Headmasters, and three Ministery employees are making me compete..." she trailed off smirking as a plan formed in her mind looking up at her brother noticing him smiling back at her as he caught on to her plan.
"Yes..." Dumbledore said before his eyes widened as he finally caught on.
"I, Heiress Dorea Clementine Potter-Diggory, hereby claim my title as the Lady of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Potter. So mote it be," she said as the Potter family magics settled inside of, her Head of House ring appeared on her right hand.
"You know, you're going to have to write mum and dad," Cedric said.
"Oh, I know. They are going to be my proxies in the Wizengamot, and on the Board of Governors," she said smirking because she knew she just crippled Dumbledore's power base.
"What are you going to do about your sleeping arrangements, because as Lady Potter, you cannot sleep in the dorms," McGonagall wondered.
"I am also the last direct descendant of Godric Gryffindor, so I will request the house elves to clean out the Gryffindor rooms," she said before they got down to business.
After they left the room, Dorea had Dobby, her personal elf, move her belongings to the Gryffindor rooms, while she and Cedric discussed what they were going to do. But since they don't know anything about the tasks, they decided to hit their family books, and research for anything that they could possibly be facing during the task.
If Dorea didn't love Hogwarts so much, she would transfer to another school to get away from the danger that seems to stalk her. But she also wanted the chance to make Hogwarts a better place. It was time that someone did something about everything that has been going on inside Hogwarts.
Bullying, prejudice, discrimination, and the daily abuse of a staff member. She was going to talk to her parents to see if there was anything they could do about it. But the main thing that she wanted to be changed was the danger. She wanted Hogwarts to have better wards, and something to prevent dark objects, dark marks, and dark creatures with intent to harm. She also wanted wards to prevent rape, considering Dorea had to save Luna the year before from her would-be rapist, Theo Nott. He would never have children because she cast a permanent impotence spell on him.
The reason being that Dorea didn't want him to hurt anyone else, but the main reason was due to the staff failing to do anything about it when she reported it. Dorea had decided if the staff wasn't going to protect the students, then she would. Hell, her parents had agreed with the actions she had taken when she explained her reasons for efficiency ending the line of a very old Pureblood family.
Times were changing, and it was time the wizarding world did also.
