Chapter 38
Ari P.O.V
I slowly started to wake up after I heard something click. It took me a minute, but I fully woke up, when I stretched, and realised that the bed beside me was empty.
I sat up, and looked around the room in confusion. Vic wasn't here. And I couldn't hear him in the bathroom, either. I looked to the side, and noticed a note on the empty pillow beside me.
Kitten,
I know I said you could come with us, but I don't want you getting hurt, or put in another facility. So, I had Toad get us a room that had the ability to stop you teleporting in or out of. It was specially designed, to stop some of the hotel guests from causing themselves and/or others harm, if they weren't able to quite control their ability yet. But you can teleport to Cari's room, which is similarly enforced. The runt didn't want her coming with us either. Both rooms are locked from the outside. So don't try it. We came up with the idea yesterday. There's enough food for you for the day on the table. I'll be back tonight.

I narrowed my eyes at the note. Seething with anger, I put it to one side, and then went to take a quick shower.
No P.O.V
The X-Men looked up as Sabertooth and Toad approached them.
"What excuse did you give Ari?" Logan asked.
"I didn't. I left her a note, and left the room while she was still asleep."
"We should probably get going then." Cyclops said.
With that, they all left the hotel.
Ari P.O.V
The reason for mine and Cari's rooms being on a different floor to the others made sense now. They were different to the others! After I had gotten dressed, and had some breakfast, I caught hold of Cari's location, and teleported over to her room.
"Ari!" She said, startled, out of trying to force the door open.
"Your door's locked too then?" I asked.
"I can't believe it! The nerve!"
"I know how you feel."
"So, what lie did Victor spout, for you to not follow him out the door?"
"I was asleep when he left. He left me a note explaining what he'd done. What about Logan?"
"He said he was going out for a smoke. When I heard the lock click, I tried to get him to open the door. He then explained to me, through the door."
"Men." I humphed. "I don't understand why they feel the need to baby us. I mean we can both hold our own in a fight! Hell, Vic trained me! He should know I'd be fine!"
"I know! It's frustrating!" Cari agreed. We both sat down on the bed.
"So, on a brighter note, what did you two get up to last night?" I wagged my eyebrows suggestively.
Cari bit her lip.
"Oh come on! The both of us know last night wasn't 'innocent'. I can smell that something of a sexual nature went on. So tell me, did you go all the way?"
"Yes. Twice."
"Twice! Wow, go Cari! I didn't think you had it in you!"
"Ari!" She scolded.
"So, did he leave a mark?"
Cari moved her shirt so I could see her shoulder. A centimetre away from her neck, was a bite mark. I whistled.
"Nice." I said. Then I grinned. "I told you your mate was out there somewhere!"
"Shut up!" She laughed, before throwing a pillow at me.
