Khan washes his hands as his cape watched him. Perci entered and stared at the cape for a moment before joining Khan at the sink. Khan paused and then takes her hand. She stares sympathetically "Are you okay?". He turns to her with his eyes watery. Perci sighs "I don't understand what's happening" "I know. But I have to go away now". He puts his hands on her face "You said losing my hands didn't have to be the end. That it could be the beginning" "Yeah. Because there are other ways to save lives". Khan nods "A harder way" "A… weirder way". They both laugh but then "Dr Perci to ER, please". Khan sighed "I don't want you to go". She puts her hands on his and the two stare into each other's eyes. She kisses his cheek and slowly backs away before leaving. Khan turns back to the mirror with stony determination as the cape went on him.
Omen and his zealots step through a portal on a Chun-Nan street. They walk towards the sanctum. Inside Merlin led five sorcerers armed with weapons to the doors "No one steps foot in this Sanctum. No one".
Merlina stands in the remains of the Groovy Train library. Khan steps through a portal "She's dead" "You were right. She wasn't who I thought she was" "She was complicated". Merlina turned to him "Complicated? The Dark Dimension is volatile. Dangerous. What if it overtook her? She taught us it was forbidden while she drew on its power to steal centuries of life" "She did what she thought was right". Merlina started to look angry "The bill comes due. Don't you see? Her transgressions led the Zealots to Feist. Feist was her fault! And here we are in consequence of her deception. A world on fire" "Merlina, the Knothole Sanctum has fallen. The Station Square one has been attacked twice. You know where they're going next. You told me once to fight like my life depended on it because one day, it might. Well, today is that day. I cannot defeat them alone". Merlina glances at him and nods but her expression didn't change. Khan opened a portal. They rush through the portal and are suddenly on a rubble covered street. A destroyed building stood in front of them with dead bodies around it including Merlin. The two stared in shock "The Sanctum's already fallen". A swirling black cloud began to spread from where the sanctum stood "The Dark Dimension. Feist is coming. It's too late". Omen appeared with his Zealots and Khan got an idea "Not necessarily". He braces his fingers together and the Red Gem in his headband glowed. Omen for once looked afraid "No". He lunges forward but he suddenly froze right before he could stab Khan.
Time suddenly begins to reverse with only Merlina and Khan unaffected. Dead civilians rise, Omen runs backwards towards his Zealots. Merlina watches bewildered as Khan runs towards the sanctum "We have a second chance". The city reforms and Khan spots a dead Merlin impaled on a metal spike. He comes alive and is pulled off the spike. Khan makes a gesture and Merlin is broken out of the time reverse. He looked around confused, but Khan just shrugged "Breaking the laws of nature. I know". Merlin looks at where he died "Well, don't stop now". Khan looked up "When the Sanctum's restored they'll just attack it again. We've got to defend it". Time suddenly froze and Omen was walking freely "Our souls are in the Dark Dimension?". He raises his head to the sky gratefully "With a simple thought Feist has freed us from time. Soon, we will all have this blessing". Khan and the others prepare to fight but Omen didn't look worried "You can't fight the inevitable. Think of it. A world beyond time. Beyond death". Khan looked into the Dark Dimension "Beyond time". A cloud formed under his feet, and he flew towards the portal with Omen, Merlina and Merlin watching him confused. He enters the Dark Dimension. Merlina watched as Omen looked at her "He's gone. Even Khan has left you and surrendered to his power". Khan landed on a small planetoid and closes his eyes. The Red Gem glows just before a large face rises behind him. Khan turns to face a giant male panda with yellow eyes. Khan however stood his ground "Feist, I've come to bargain". Feist smiles "You've come to die. Your world is now my world, like all worlds". He fires a beam from his eyes. Khan however doesn't even attempt to defend himself and his completely disintegrated. After a few moments another Khan suddenly appears appears "Feist, I've come to bargain" "You've come to die. Your world is now….".
He looks around confused "What is this? An illusion?" "No. This is real". Feist grinned "Good", two spikes appear and skewer Khan killing him. Khan then appears again unharmed "Feist, I've come to bargain" "You've… What is happening" "Just as you gave Omen powers from your dimension, I brought a little power from mine". Khan points at the gem in his headband "This is time. You've probably heard of it. Endless looped time". Feist roared "You dare!?" he rises his fist. Khan frowned "Oh" he gets crushed. Khan landed again "Feist, I've come to bargain" "You cannot do this forever" "Actually, I can. This is how things are now. You and me, trapped in this moment endlessly". Feist growled "Then you will spend eternity dying" "Yes. But everyone on Mobius will live" "But you will suffer". Khan clenched his shaking fist "Pain's an old friend". He was disintegrated "Feist, I've come to bargain" hit by a meteor. Another Khan "Feist, I've come to bargain". Feist screamed in anger "End this!" "Feist, I've come to bargain". Khan has been stabbed, strangled, his head was torn off. He was burned, shot, crushed. Eventually he fell to the ground exhausted. He tries to get back up as Feist watches "You will never win" "No… But I can lose… again and again and again, forever". Khan gets to his feet "And that makes you my prisoner" "No! Make this stop! Set me free!". Feist throws rock spikes and kills Khan again. Khan then flies down again "No. I've come to bargain" "What do you want?" "Take your Zealots from Mobius. End your assault on my world. Never come back. Do it and I'll break the loop".
The others watched from the street when Khan landed in front of Omen and his Zealots. The portal in the sky begins to disappear. Omen's eyes open wide "What have you done?" "I made a bargain". Omen starts to feel strange. He looks at his hands and sees the skin begin to crack and break away "What is this?". Khan stares coldly "Everything you've ever wanted. Eternal life as part of the one. I doubt you'll enjoy it". Omen and the Zealots scream as they're bodies break away and are consumed into the Dark Dimension. Khan stared up at the portal as it finally disappeared "Yeah, you know, you really should have stolen the whole book because the warnings, they come after the spells". Merlin starts to laugh "Oh, that's funny". Khan shrugs before gesturing his hands, the Sanctum reassembles, and the city is now undamaged. Time unfreezes for everyone else, and they act as if nothing has happened. Merlin smiled "We did it" he and Khan walk towards the Sanctum, but Merlina doesn't move "Yes. Yes, we did". Khan and Merlin turned to her as she spoke "By also violating the natural law" "Look around you. It's over" "You still think there will be no consequences, Khan? No price to pay". Khan pointed up at where the portal was "Did you not see how it saved the entire planet?" "The only reason Feist came close was because of Omen's magic. Because of Ebony!". She stepped back "I thought it was just Omen. But no. We've all broken our rules, just like her. And that means they'll always be someone risking us all. The bill comes due. Always! A reckoning. I will follow this path no longer". She turns her back to them and walks into the crowd.
The next day Khan walks through the Groovy Train library and removes the Red Gem from his headband. He places it onto the pedestal. Merlin enters "Wise choice. You'll wear the Red Gem once you've mastered its powers. Until then best not to walk the streets wearing a Phantom Gem". Khan turned to him "A what?" "You might have a gift for the mystic arts, but you still have much to learn. Word of the Ancient One's death will spread through the Multiverse. Mobius has no Sorcerer Supreme to defend it. We must be ready". Khan nodded "We'll be ready". A portal opens to the Station Square Sanctum.
Khan walks through the Station Square Sanctum toward a desk where Merlin places a pile of books "The Ancient One's private collection" "Are you sure about this?" "They'll be safer here". Merlin started to groan and leaned back "I think I might have pulled something, Doctor" "Well, why don't I prescribe you 100 milligrams of quit your whining Khan walks up the stairs of the relic room and over to the window overlooking the city. Merlin just stares at him deadpan making Khan sigh "One of these days I'm gonna make you laugh". Merlin took one of the books "Any word on Merlina?" "No. She's been gone for weeks now" "She'll return when she's ready. And when she does I can hopefully brag that I proved you wrong on something". Merlin laughed at his own joke as he walked out of the room. Khan walked over to a window looking down at a street. He took out his headband and put it on before staring at his scarred hands.
