Chapter 56
Ari P.O.V
I saw a beautiful little boy, running around the park, chasing something or someone only he could see. The child stopped suddenly, and turned to face someone else who was approaching. His blonde hair fell in front of his eyes. He smiled at he person approaching. I looked at them. It was a woman by the looks of it… I moved forward, I couldn't see much of her, but I caught sight of her cats ears, and tail. It was me.
"Mamma!" The little boy called out to the other me. I gasped, and then the image faded, and I jerked myself awake, crying, and clutching my stomach.
I don't know how long I took to calm down, but when I started to, I wondered why Victor wasn't there with me, soothing me. And then I remembered, he left yesterday morning to track down Edith. I sat up in bed, and looked at the clock. It was five in the morning. There was no point me going back to sleep now. At least it was a Saturday. On the upside, I could just relax, on the downside, I'd need something to do.
I grabbed my dressing gown and slippers, and wandered downstairs. I sat down on the sofa, and switched the T.V. on, and curled up. I watched the T.V. until mam came down, at eight, and then decided to ring Paddy.
"Hey Tiger! You alright?" He asked.
"Ish. I was wondering if you were up to something Paddy. I need to do something to get my mind of things."
"Victor not caught Edith yet?"
"He's close, but no, not yet. Is there anything we could do?"
"Well, there's a few movies out if you want to go to the cinema."
"I need something to actually do."
"Well, I have a couple of old computers we could take apart. And I'm sure that if we called Cari, and I asked nicely, Mrs. No. 32 wouldn't mind us rebuilding her deceased husbands land rover engine."
"That sounds good. Lets do that."
"Should I call Cari, or will you?" He asked.
"I will, see you soon, Paddy."
"See ya, Tiger." With that, the two of us hung up.
I quickly rang Cari. "Hello?" A bleary voice asked.
"Hey Cari." I said.
"Tiger? What are you doing calling me this early on a Saturday?"
"Be thankful I didn't call you at five, cause that's when I got up. Anyway, would you like to come with me to Paddy's today. We're going to take apart a couple of computers, and possibly rebuild a landrover engine. What do you think?"
"Sounds good to me."
"Great. Should I pick you up?"
"Only if you take your mothers car, it's not the weather for going out on the bike. If not, drive up to mine, and we'll take my car."
"Kay. I'm just going to make myself some breakfast, and get changed. I'll see you later."
"Bye." She said, but half of it was more of a yawn than anything.
I stood up, and put the phone back in its cradle. I walked out to the kitchen, past the computer 'room' where mam was, and into the kitchen. I pulled a pack of sausages out of the fridge, and I started to cook them. I concentrated completely on that, and by the time I was done, my mind was completely off my earlier dream.
I wolfed down the sausages, and then went to see mam.
"Hey, Ma? Can I borrow your car for today?"
"Why?"
"Cari and I are going down to Paddy's and we don't want to take my bike with the weather."
"Alright. I don't have any plans any way."
"Thank you." I said, and then I went up to the upstairs bathroom for a shower. The downstairs one actually just had a toilet and a sink really. I didn't take long in the shower, before I stepped out, wrapped a towel round me and wandered into my bedroom. I dried off and threw on an old t-shirt and an old faded pair of jeans with the oldest jumper I could find, that I didn't mind ruining.
Then, I went downstairs, said goodbye to ma, and left to pick up Cari.
No P.O.V
Edith came round slowly to a throbbing pain in the back of her head. She groaned. What the hell had happened? Oh, now she remembered. She had been heading for Cari's house, to try and end her. Hopefully this one would be successful, she'd get back to Arianwen later. But she had never reached Cari's house. She'd heared something behind her, started to turn, and then been hit across the back of the head. Now she was waking up.
The first thing she realised, was that her hands were cuffed. She opened her eyes fully, to see that she was cuffed to a leather arm rest. She looked up, and around to see that she seemed to be in one of those private jets of some sort. In the seat opposite her sat a woman. She was entirely blue, with red hair and yellow eyes.
"Who the hell are you? What do you want?" Edith demanded.
The woman leant forward. "I'd enjoy the comfort of the plane, if I were you. It's going to be the last you ever get for the rest of your life."
Edith's eyes narrowed. "And why is that?"
"You've met Sabertooth, I've been told."
"Who?"
"He's a feral mutant. Long blonde hair. Dark eyes. Very tall."
"Yeah. He was with a bitch I know."
"That 'bitch' as you call her, is his mate. And when you shot her, she was pregnant. You killed their baby. An innocent child. You signed your own death warrant." And with that, the woman said no more. Edith, started to feel traces of panic within her. Surely she wasn't going to die?
A/N: What do you think?
