Chapter 60
Ari P.O.V
I groaned as I walked out of History. That was my third essay today. I had two to complete for English, and now I had this as well. At least I had last lesson free. I could get one of them done then. I wandered to the stairs that the guys and I usually hung out under, and I sat down to wait. Faith was the first one to arrive.
"Hey Tigris. How are you? You look tense."
"I just got an essay in History. It's the third essay I've been assigned today."
"Ouch."
"How has your day been?"
"Quite good." Faith said. "We've just been told to revise. At least you have essay questions to revise from so that you know how to answer the exams."
"There's that, I guess." I admitted. "I think I'm going to have a mental break down by the time these exams are over."
"You aren't the only one. But I'm sure we can all get the marks we need. What are you most worried about?"
"English and History. English is a closed book exam, so we need to learn the plays and poems so that we can quote them and we cant have the text. And then there's History."
"No need to tell me about that one, Tigris." She laughed. "Just relax. You know you are perfectly able to do this. You just need to go through everything more than once. Make sure you have the important quotes and points. And History, well you can do that too."
"I hope I can. I don't want to fail, and I want to be able to go to Sacramento University."
"I know you do. But I'm sure you can do it."
"Do what?" Mark asked, as he sat down.
"Pass A-Level." Faith said. "Tigris has been worrying."
"And Seer has been reassuring me."
"You'll do fine." Mark assured me.
"Maybe. The work is crippling." I admitted.
"Tell me about it." Cari groaned as she appeared, and collapsed beside me, leaning against the wall, and curling up.
"How was Maths?"
"Long." She groaned. "I just want it to be summer."
"What do you have planned?" I asked.
"Logan's coming to visit, and then I'm going over there."
"Nice. An eventful summer then."
"Yeah, especially when it comes to helping you move."
"You know you don't have to." I protested.
"We do and are." Paddy said as he leant over the banister. He came down the remaining flights of stairs, and joined us.
"GUUUYS!" I moaned. "You could all be relaxing during that time!"
"And not spending what little time we have left with our sister?" Cari asked.
"It's not as if we're never going to see each other again!" I said.
"We wont see you nearly every day though." Paddy pointed out.
"I know that, but we aren't going to loose contact. I won't let that happen. I'm not giving you guys up, to live in America."
"Yes, but we want to spend as much time together as a group as possible." Mark said.
"So, we're helping you pack." Paddy said.
"Fine." I said, knowing I had no other choice.
Last lesson, Mark, Paddy and I had a free, so we headed up to the study room to get started on homework, or go on the internet. I managed my two R.E essays and got started on my History before it was time to head home.
I found the ride home relaxed me some, and by the time I got home, I wasn't too stressed anymore. I got straight back to work, however, deciding to get as much done as I could before Victor got back from whatever he was doing, and unintentionally distracted me.
Lena leapt up into my lap, and I stroked her with my left hand as I wrote with my right. By the time I was halfway through with the essay, mam was home. I had just finished, when Victor walked through the door. I smiled up at him, as I put my things away.
He came over to me, and kissed me on the lips, as he placed something on the table in front of me. When we broke apart, I glanced at the file.
"What's this about?" I asked.
"Open it, and see." Victor said, sitting down next to me.
I looked away from him, and looked down at the file. Then, I opened it.
