Chapter 79
Ari P.O.V
I fell to the floor of the cell hard as I was thrown back in, after another long day of me and Cari being tortured for answers. Neither of us had answered any yet, but i was beginning to worry about my strength to keep my walls up. I was so tired!
"No matter what they try, they always go back to the dunking, don't they?" I asked.
"They do seem to favour it." Cari said from beside me. "It's like people at the witch hunts. Dunk em and see if they float."
"Trust you to link this to the witch trials." I said. There was no humour in my voice mind.
"Ari, are you alright?" Cari asked worriedly.
"No, I'm not." I whispered brokenly and I broke down crying pathetically. It couldn't really be called crying really. I didn't have the strength for that anymore.
"Hey, Logan and Victor are coming for us! They'll be here. They'll get us out." Cari said.
"What if that's what Stryker wants? What if he's ready for them?" I asked.
"They'll get us out. I promise you, we will get out, and next summer, you'll get married, and be Mrs. Arianwen Creed. Just hold on Ari, please! Don't give in!" She begged, grabbing hold of my hand. She wrapped an arm round my shoulder, and we both fell asleep, clutching to each other for warmth. The water in the tanks were still just as cold as before, and that made it even worse.
No P.O.V
Magneto watched as the teen disabled all the cameras without so much as touching any of the electronics. He, Mystique, Sabertooth, Toad and Pyro were the Brotherhood mutants involved, and Wolverine, Storm, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Rogue, Ice Man, Shadowcat and Colossus were the mutants that Charles had sent. Patrick O'Connell, Mark Hutchings, Faith Lewis and Lucinda Jacobs had all insisted on coming along to help. Magneto had arranged for the Brotherhood plane to pick them up from Cardiff airport, and they were allowed to help.
When all the cameras were down, Patrick opened the door. There were guards ready with guns, and Magneto and Jean instantly pulled the guns away. Sabertooth and Wolverine lunged, their claws shredding any guards they came into contact with. The other mutants quickly rushed into battle. Magneto saw Patrick teleport and knock several humans out from behind, while Lucinda threw bolts of electricity at enemies. He saw that Lucinda seemed to signal to Patrick and threw a bolt at him, which he bent and manipulated, causing it to hit several more guards. Those two made a good team, and were very talented. He knew that Lucinda already wanted to join the Brotherhood, and wouldn't deny her, he hoped Patrick would too.
He soon got back to the fight, turning the guns on their previous owners, and shooting. The group moved into the compound with purpose. They had two of their own to rescue, and they wouldn't fail.
The group split, and Magneto headed down one corridor with Mystique, Pyro, Mark and Faith, who had two dogs with her. The two animals had their noses to the ground, sniffing. When they reached a junction, the two dogs raised their heads and sniffed, they barked and took off down another corridor at a run. The mutants followed, running behind. The two dogs stopped at a door that had a food hatch at the bottom, and started to scratch at the door and whine.
Faith seemed to bark something at them, and they backed away.
"Well done Seer." Mark said.
"It wasn't me who found them!" Faith said. "They're both in there mind."
Magneto stepped forward and manipulated the metal of the door, and ripped it off. He stepped inside, to see both girls curled up close to each other on the floor. He walked towards them, and crouched beside the one nearest to him. It was Arianwen.
He noticed something wrong with her side, her shirt was slightly torn, exposing some of her skin, that seemed… raised. He pushed the shirt away from her hip, and saw a brand there that looked like a bar code. Anger flared inside him, and his tattoo from the concentration camp seemed to tingle. He lifted the shirt away from Cari's side and saw a similar thing.
"What is it?" Mark asked.
"They've branded them like a couple of common cows." Magneto said, his voice not betraying the anger he felt.
"Oh my God." Faith said. He could hear the disgust in her voice. "How could they do that to them?"
"They believe them to be animals." Magneto stated simply as he stood.
"I'll go find Victor and Logan." Faith said, and she left the room, the two dogs leading her to the two male Ferals. In the mean time, Magneto removed the metal wristbands on the two unconscious girls.
It didn't take long for them to return. The two men rushed into the cell, and hurried to their respective mates.
Sabertooth rolled Arianwen onto her back. She looked so small and helpless right now. And she looked cold. There were goose bumps all over her exposed skin. He took off his long coat, and picked her up, so that her upper body was lying across his thighs. He slipped her arms into his coat, and then picked her up, cradling her gently in his arms. His gold eyes raked her body for wounds, and he saw the brand. He growled fiercely.
Stryker had dared mark his mate! His Arianwen! He was vaguely aware of Jimmies growls, but most of his focus was on his own anger. He heard Pyro answer a phone, and say something, and then. "Toad's managed to catch Stryker. And some teleporter. Apparently that was how he got away last time. She helped him."
Sabertooth's head shot up from his mate. Stryker had been caught. It was time for him to pay. With his life.
The group of mutants left, and joined up with the rest outside. Toad was standing over an unconscious, and bound, Stryker and a woman of around twenty five. He held a remote in his hand.
"Should I?" He asked, holding up the remote.
"Wait for a minute Toad. I have something to do." Sabertooth said, his molten Gold eyes glaring down at Stryker. He walked onto the jet with Jimmy, and they both lay their mates down. They left the jet, and both of them grabbed hold of Stryker.
"Wait till we come back to set the bombs off." Sabertooth growled. "We have some unfinished business to do with this prick."
They dragged him off, back into the base, and dumped him among the many dead bodies. Both Sabertooth and Wolverine kicked the man in the side, breaking several ribs and bringing him round to consciousness, in a lot of pain.
His eyes widened, when he saw them standing over him.
"Logan! Victor!" he said, hoping to God Amy could get here soon.
"Stryker." Sabertooth growled, stepping on the frail's windpipe. "You made a big mistake last week." He pushed down, but then let up. The man coughed and spluttered.
"I was just trying to protect all the other humans. You understand protecting your kin, don't you? And you two were two of the biggest threats to me. I needed you out of the way."
"All the same," Wolverine said, before he stamped down on Stryker's shin bone, dragging a scream from the man's mouth, "you took our mate's from us. After everything you've done to us, you don't honestly believe this wasn't the way it was going to end? That we'd leave you alone, especially if you had our mates?" He stood on Stryker's thigh bone, breaking that too.
Sabertooth let out a growl, and kicked the man in the ribs again, before kicking him in the jaw, breaking it.
Wolverine unsheathed his claws, just as his brother grew out his own. Sabertooth lunged down, and tore at Stryker's chest, bringing out large chunks of bloody flesh. Wolverine stabbed down into Stryker's untouched leg, his three claws moving straight through easily.
Stryker's screams didn't stop as they continued. They tore at his flesh, they broke bones, and they crushed them. Stryker was a bloody, unrecognisable mess, but he was still alive, barely. He would die soon, no matter what happened. The two stood.
"You've crashed, Stryker, and now you're gonna burn." Sabertooth said. The two feral brothers left him there. They walked out of the base, and towards the jet. Once they reached it, Sabertooth nodded to Toad, noting that the Teleporter was still there.
Toad pressed the button on the remote, and there was a large explosion. Fire rose up into the air as the base exploded. It was the true end of General William Stryker.
All the mutants entered the jets, the two Ferals sitting besides their unconscious Mates. They left the teleporter behind, still bound as they took off. None of the other mutants dared talk to Wolverine or Sabertooth about what they'd done. They all knew what happened. They had all heard the screams of Stryker. But none of them mentioned it. They weren't currently dealing with the more human side of the Ferals, they were dealing with the animalistic side.
Slowly, over the course of the journey, Victor and Logan gained back control, and by the time the jet landed just outside Sacramento, Victor Creed was completely in control. He gathered Arianwen into his arms, and carried her off the jet, and back to the apartment.
