Chapter 85
Ari P.O.V
Victor and I got into the car that dad and I had come to the ceremony in. Victor wrapped his arm round my shoulders in the car, and when it started moving, Victor kissed me deeply.
"You look beautiful." He said, when he pulled back.
"You look quite handsome yourself." I said, leaning my head on his shoulder.
"You liked the rose then?" he asked.
"Yes, I did, thank you."
"I'm glad. Mind you, I expected you'd put it in your bouquet."
"I'm glad I can still surprise you." I said.
"You'll always be able to surprise me, kitten. I have no doubt about that." Victor said, and his hand came to rest on my leg. He frowned, and I grinned, knowing what he had felt under my skirt.
I hitched my skirt up, to reveal the necklace that he'd given me almost a year ago. I smiled at him.
"I feel better when I wear it." I said. "It's like a comfort blanket. Especially after all that's happened."
Victor looked at me, before meeting my lips with his in a fierce kiss. "Everything's going to be fine now Kitten. I promise." Victor said.
"I know it will Victor." I said, wrapping my arm round his waist, and leaning into him, inhaling his scent. "Well, now we only have to survive the reception." I said.
"That'll be easy enough. After that, it'll be just you and me for the night, Mrs. Creed."
I grinned. "I love the sound of that." I said.
"Which part, the part about after the party, or where I called you Mrs. Creed?"
"Both." I answered. "But I do like being called Mrs. Creed. It sounds right."
"Mrs. Arianwen Creed." He said. The name seemed to roll off his tongue, and his chest reverberated in a purr. "You're right. It does." He took my hand, which wore my ring. His thumb rang over the band, the tip of his thumb rubbing against my engagement ring. "Now we have a bond that frails can understand. One that can't be contested."
"It couldn't be contested before." I said.
Victor snorted. "Like the frails would fully understand the fact we're mates. They don't understand the way our minds work. The fact that we're far more primal than them. And they also don't understand the concept of for life, when it comes to us."
"You're right, they don't, but neither of us would let someone separate us permanently." I pointed out.
"I know that kitten. But knowing I have put this ring on your finger, letting every one who's not a feral, know what you are to me, calms my mind. Less people will make a move, 'cause they recognise this as a symbol that you've been… taken out of the running, shall I say? They don't recognise this," his hand brushed over my mark, "but they recognise a wedding ring."
I hummed in agreement, and settled my head on his chest. We were silent for a minute. "Victor," I said, breaking the silence, "On the flight over, back from America, how come we got first class?"
"I booked first class." He said simply.
"That must have cost a bit."
"Money's no object to me, Kitten. How many times do I have to tell you?"
"Sorry. It's just, I've spent my whole live needing to be careful with money. And then you come along, and you buy me things that cost a fortune as if they come from the pound shop!"
"You don't need to apologise, kitten. But don't worry about money anymore. I have more than enough to get all the necessities, and more. Hell, if neither of us wanted to work for ninety years, that would be fine. We'd be comfortably well off, and even then, we still wouldn't have to go back to work for a while."
"Well, that sounds like a strange idea to me. Completely alien." I mused. Then I shrugged. "Well, at least when I was reassuring dad my assessment was right."
"Why'd you need to reassure him?"
"He was afraid that I was rushing into something I could regret later on. He just wanted to make sure I was happy in my decision."
"You are, aren't you? Happy I mean…"
"Of course I am!" I said, raising my head, and making eye contact with him. "You make me so much more happy than anyone else could ever do. Believe me when I say that I don't regret a thing." I kissed him soundly on his lips.
He pulled back after a minute, and his finger trailed over my cheek. "Good, because I have no regrets either." Victor said. He leant down, and placed his mouth next to my ear. "You are mine forever, Arianwen." he said quietly. "I will never let you go."
"And I will never let go of you." I replied, in an equally quiet voice. I leant up, and nibbled on his ear lobe.
He let out a growl, and his arms wrapped round my waist, and pulled me onto his lap. He kissed me furiously. The car hit a speed bump, causing me to move about in his lap, and I rubbed against him, causing him to harden. Victor's arms tightened round me, keeping me securely in place, so it wouldn't happen again. If it did, he'd probably take me in the car, and that wouldn't be the best, due to the driver being there.
"I love you Kitten." He mumbled against my lips.
"I love you too, Victor." I said, snuggling into his strong embrace.
When the car pulled up at the hotel, the driver opened Victor's door. Victor slid me off his lap, and back onto the car seat I had previously occupied. He got out, and held his hand out to me, much like dad had the first time.
I took his hand and let him help me out of the car. Victor smiled down at me, and I smiled back at him. Everyone was already waiting in the hotel lobby.
"So, how about we head out to the gardens to get a few photo's? I have several of the ceremony, but I have none of the wedding party." The photographer said. I could smell the nervousness coming off him whenever he looked at Victor.
"Alright." I said. Victor's arm moved closer to his body, pinning my arm between his arm and body as the Photographer led us all out to the hotel gardens, and started arranging us for photo's. The first few were of just me and Victor, then there were pics of Victor and Logan, me and Cari, me and Faith, me and Luce, me and Paddy, me and Mark, and full family photo's, where Victor was included as well, and then a group photo of me and my friends as well as Victor. Then there were photo's of Victor, Mort, Mystique and Magneto. I was in a few of them, but not all. Then, there were photos of me, Victor and Logan. The last main group of photo's were of all who had been at the ceremony, surrounding Victor and I.
We went back into the hotel and to the function room that the reception would be held in. After the ceremony, the drive over, and the photo's, a lot of time had passed. It was now half passed four, and there were quite a few people waiting for us. Almost immediately people came over, and started congratulating Victor and I. I was hugged and kissed, more times than I could count, and I was aware of Victor having his hand shaken multiple times.
People soon let Victor and I further into the room. That was when the smell of the food hit me.
"Please tell me that the buffet's open." I practically begged Victor.
"Come on, Kitten. Let's get you fed, before we do anything else. Cant have you going hungry now, can we?"
I shook my head, and Victor led me to the long table that held the food. I grabbed a plate, and waited as staff members removed the covers from the various dishes, hot and cold. I took a bit of everything I liked, and when Victor and I both had a plateful of food, we left everyone else, who were moving through the buffet, and went to the main table, and sat down in the middle seats, and began to eat. Victor ordered the both of us a glass of Penderyn whiskey, and it was soon delivered. Pretty soon, everyone else was sitting down at tables around the room. Victor was to my one side, and my dad was on my other. Logan was on Victor's other side. Mam was also on the table, on dad's other side, and then it was Zoe, Autumn and James. Mort was on Logan's other side, and then there was Magneto, and finally Mystique. We had all just finished eating, when dad stood up. I looked up at him curiously. Everyone grew quiet.
"I know that no one had any speeches planned, but I'm going to say one anyway. I said one at Zoe's wedding and I'm going to say one at my baby girls wedding too. Through her life, I always said I wasn't even going to let her date, that didn't work out too well, and then she did start dating. The relationships she was in weren't too serious, so I didn't threaten any of her boyfriends. But then, she started seeing Victor, and I very nearly lost the chance to threaten him. I'm not ashamed to admit, he's bloody terrifying. But, being a plumber, I have many tools I could turn into make shift weapons, should I need to. But I don't think I'm going to need to use them. I've seen Arianwen with Victor, and every time I do, I see how well they fit together, and I've seen how protective of her Victor is. Mind you, I've only recently come to the conclusion, and the acceptance of this fact, that Arianwen couldn't be better off, than she is with Victor. So I would like to wish them the best of luck. So, to Arianwen and Victor Creed." dad raised his champagne glass in a toast. Everyone else in the room, except Victor and I, also raised their glasses, and repeated the toast. Dad sat down, and I noticed that a lot of people had turned their gazes on Logan, as if expecting him to say something.
"Don't look at me." He said, also having noticed the stares. "I'm not giving any sort of speech."
Several people laughed, and I noticed that everyone that I had invited from Xaviers, the ones I got on with, were laughing hard, even the Professor. Pyro was also on their table, and he was also laughing hard.
Victor then stood up, surprising me, and those who knew him.
"I wasn't going to say any sort of speech, and as such I don't have one planned. I'm not one for many words normally, but I think this calls for it. I'll keep it short mind. I knew when I saw Arianwen what she would mean to me. My instincts told me exactly what she would be. I proposed to her just before Christmas, and we met the summer before that. We hadn't been in a relationship very long, but I knew that she was the one for me. She's the only one who can put up with me." Victor had my hand in his He looked down at me, meeting and holding my gaze. "I guess what I'm trying to say is, thank you for agreeing to be mine all those months ago."
I smiled at him, and stood up, and kissed him. I didn't hear the clapping, or cheers, all that mattered to me was Victor. When we broke apart, I heard music start up. I looked round to see several people heading onto the dance floor. I grinned at my husband, and we headed for the dance floor. Skillet's Your's to Hold was being played. After that, two other songs by Skillet also played, Comatose and Whispers in the Dark. After those two dances, dad cut in for the unofficial father daughter dance. I noticed that Cari and Logan had disappeared off somewhere. I didn't think much on it. They were probably enjoying each other. Faith and Mark were dancing together, and so were Luce and Faith.
No P.O.V
Cari and Logan were out on the grounds, near a fountain. Logan turned to face Cari, his face serious. He slipped his hand into his jacket pocket and pulled something out. His free hand grasped Cari's left hand. Logan lowered himself to one knee. Cari's breath hitched.
"Cari, you mean everything to me. I want to make you as happy as I can. Now, I may not be the best man in the world, I'm no where near perfect, but will you make me the happiest man in the world, and marry me?"
"Oh Logan… of course!" Cari said, smiling widely.
Logan grinned, and pulled the ring out of the box. The band had intricate Celtic patterns and there was a large cut diamond at the top. He slipped it on her finger, and stood, before crushing her to him, and kissing her passionately.
Cari couldn't describe how happy she felt. She had just seen her best friend/sister get married, and now there was a marriage on the books for her too! She kissed Logan back with just as much passion. She was breathless when the kiss was broken off.
"We should probably head back." She said.
Logan hummed in agreement, but made no move to start heading back, but instead moved his head, and attacked her neck with his lips. Cari melted into his hold, as Logan moved his lips up and down her neck, and the shoulder where he'd placed his mark.
There was a wolf whistle, and Logan broke off what he was doing. The two Ferals turned to see one of the other guests of the hotel. The man was leering lecherously at them. Both Logan and Cari growled at him, baring their sharpened fangs. The man's eyes widened and he hurried off.
"Come on, let's go back. I want a couple of dances with you." Cari said.
"Fine by me." Logan said. "If we're dancing, I have you close to me. And I always want you close to me." He pulled the shorter girl into his side, and they began to head back up to the hotel.

I danced with dad, and then thought I could get back to dancing with Victor, but Paddy cut me off, asking for a dance. I danced and laughed with Paddy, and had a good time with him. He fired of the funniest quotes he could think of, and I had to try to guess what they were from.
"Large chance of death, small chance of success, what are we waiting for? Lets go for it!"
"Lord of the rings, return of the king."
"If we die for them Harry, I'm going to kill you!"
"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."
"Venice is most well known for its… oh shit it's flooded, everyone get back on the bus!"
"Mock the Week." I said, laughing and smiling.
As the song ended, Mark came over.
"My turn." He said.
The music playing was one I couldn't quite place, but it was a heavy rock song. It suited Mark's music preferences, and personality, well. I enjoyed dancing with Mark as much as I had with Paddy, but I was getting more and more eager to get back to Victor. When the song ended, Mark hugged me, and kissed me on the forehead. "Congratulations little sis." Paddy also caught me in a hug, before releasing me, and I was able to slip back to Victor.
Victor caught me round the waist, and pulled me into him, kissing me deeply. "Enjoying yourself Kitten?"
"Definitely. You?" I asked.
"Oh I'm enjoying, alright." He said. "But I can't wait till twelve."
"Me neither, but I guess we have too."
"Yeah." He sighed, before we went back to dancing.
I noted that Cari and Logan were back, and were dancing together. I also noticed the ring on Cari's finger.
"Don't look now, but your younger brother's starting to catch up." I said. "He has a ring on Cari's finger." I grinned.
"Finally." Victor said. "I was wondering when he was going to propose."
I laughed. We continued to dance for a while, but then I went to dance with Cari, Faith and Luce, Paddy and Mark. Autumn came to join in after a little while, and I span her round a couple of times, making her laugh.
After that, I was surprised, when Logan asked me to dance, and Victor asked Cari to dance.
"I see you've finally got a ring on Cari's finger." I said.
Logan laughed. "Yeah. I did."
"You make sure you take care of her. Or I swear, I will hunt you down. Adamantium bones or not, I will tear you limb from limb."
"I have no doubt you'll manage." He said, grinning. "You've made quite a change in my brother, you know. Sometimes I barely recognise him. If a subject is linked to you in any way I see a whole new side to him."
"Is that a good thing?"
"Oh, definitely. He's still victor, but he's… better. You bring the best out in him, Arianwen. That's something only you can do."
"Then I'll be sure to take care, if that's what your worried about."
"Good."
The two of us stopped dancing, when the song ended, and went back to our respective mates.
Victor and I spent the rest of the time together, and then at twelve we headed up to the bridal suite together.
A/N: So I've saved the wedding night for the next chappie, but please review! I live off reviews!
